Oops!

The Clarion-Ledger somehow managed to drop the ball in commemorating Mississippi State's national championship.

Apparently the Clarion-Ledger did not follow through on Mr. Walker's promise because several people tweeted it did not appear in their Monday newspaper.

The Clarion Ledger doesn’t owe me a damn thing about my Ms. State team. We did it without them. I hope they follow us on the second page in football after Deion Sanders team. By the way, if Deion wants to play in Starkville,, we can lock his BLING in a safe until the game is over.

they don’t care about some cow college from east MS. they care about radical change and policies that will dynamically impact superlative growth in excellence

That completely overlooks that fact that it took them 4 days to print a special section in the first place. Twenty years ago, it would have been queued up before the first pitch Wednesday. Most people (even state people) have moved on to college football now.

Funny how they forgot the good news?!

Eh, nobody should be offended. It wasn’t a real championship with NCST being eliminated and the he path to a title stained.

Cancelled that rag 2 years ago

Who gives a shit about that dying toilet paper roll.

Time to close the doors on this liberal rag.

@8:21PM
100 years from now Hail State will STILL be remembered as 2021 National Champions.
At the same time, no one will utter your name.

That’s real.

I called and they said they would deliver the missing section to me. Instead they brought a copy of last Friday's paper!

What the hell has 'the city's covid protocol' got to do with anything?

Whatever.

It was in my paper this morning.

Tossed it faster than a Matt Corral release.

I'm far from a bulldog fan. I'm even less interested in college sports now that pay to play is going to happen. I played a college sport in my day at Clemson. It sad they did t recognize msu bc the owners of the clarion lier are a bunch of elitistYankees. .

Meanwhile, the CL published a reporter's account of coming in last in his fantasy football league twice on the front page - it ran on two different days, at least

Just another performance indicator of Jackson and the people running it.....albeit into the ground.

And yet newspapers continue to think that the internet is what is causing their demise. In reality, they operated too long as the only source of news. Then when the internet provided competition, they didn't have employees and management that knew how to compete, provide customer service, be accountable, be timely, etc. They are failing because they are incompetent. The internet didn't hurt them. The internet simply gave people a better alternative.

And Gannet wonders why they bought a dying newspaper that doesn't operate in the black. This is about the 20th time they have snubbed MS State. I'm sure it'll never change. You got a lot of UofM people running that rag.

Mississippi's "Flagship" newspaper..

Not drinking the CL clorox, I mean kool-aid...

8:14 — Gannett bought the Clarion Ledger in1982. This isn't something recent. The Clarion Ledger was operating in the black both before and after Gannett purchased it, so that is a non-issue.

The real issue is Gannett — as much as it wants to virtue signal otherwise — is out of touch with the communities it serves. Decisions are made in a D.C. suburb and mandated from on high. Gannett has systematically ruined the Clarion Ledger and most other newspapers it owned or owns.

Newspapers have definitely faced challenges in the internet age, but most of their wounds have been self-inflicted.

Ole Miss started the college baseball season #1 while Ms State finished #1. And Clarion Ledger continues to offer 3-4 day old news.

Anonymous said...

Mississippi State only has one black player. That's not enough diversity for Gannett.

The Liberal-Ledger doesn't give two cow patty's about Moo State.

The good news is nobody cares about the paper. Literally. We haven't taken it in over 15 years.
There are a lot of reasons why more fans are gravitating toward baseball. Every year I become less interested in football. What an embarrassing clown show by teams made of mostly functional illiterates with their hands out. Instead of SEC football, watch Big Ten teams. Dramatic difference in personnel.

Too bad Clemson didn't teach you basic English.

I'm with Sylvester Croom. The only color that matters is MAROON.

SEC,SEC,SEC,SEC, said...

Your troll game really sucks, 1:40. You really think there's a difference between Big ten, they can't get the number of schools in the conference right, and SEC players? Are you basing your supposed narrative on the comment of the third string Ohio State quarterback, from a few years back, that said, and I quote, "I ain't here to play school"? That one was a real Mensa member there. You, and that supposed Big Ten schools are academically elite none sense, need to face reality. You're second rate on the field, and in the classroom.

So where are we on this whole Oops! thing. It wasn’t. in Sunday’s paper as promised. It wasn't in Monday’s as promised. Loyal subscribers once again get screwed. They could however go the shell station in Gluckstadt and pay $2.50 for this thing that should have been delivered to them at no extra cost. Where are these commemorative sections of the paper. Somebody has them - somebody is going to make a profit off of what should belong to the loyal subscribers.

Well, they did it again! Instead of the special section. promised again this week, we got a section on the Olympics!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
