Remember when a Hinds County grand jury indicted Spencer Pittman for allegedly torching the Beth Israel Congregation? Well, it appears the case kind of, sort of, fell through the cracks.  

The fight over Leigh Bridge's $2 million Sleepy Hollow home heated up in federal court yesterday. The National Credit Union Administration Board wants to have a trustee appointed over the home.  However, Bridges and her husband Chad said hell no in responses filed yesterday.

National Credit Union Administration Board Alysson Mills stated in a flurry of motions filed Friday that she expects Leigh will soon plead guilty to federal charges for fraud and embezzlement.  Bridges was the President of the Jackson Area Federal Credit Union but was terminated for allegedly embezzling tens of millions of dollars.  NCAUB filed a clawback lawsuit against Bridges and her husband Chad in U.S. District Court in May.

 JPD issued the following statement. 

Kingfish: Once again, we have us another graduate of the Hinds County Catch & Release program. 

JPD arrested Smith in 2017 for house burglary but the case was dismissed.  Smith pleaded guilty to an indictment for business burglary in 2023.  Circuit Judge William Kidd sentenced Smith to serve 142 days in jail. JPD arrested Smith again in 2023 for felony possession of meth.  Smith pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.  County Court Judge Johnny McDaniels sentenced Smith to serve 180 days in jail. 

JPD arrested Smith for business burglary yet again after he allegedly broke into the AT&T warehouse on TV Road.   A Jackson Municipal Court Judge set his bond at $60,000 and decreed on July 7, 2026: 

"It is therefore, Ordered that the Bond in this matter be set at $60,000 unsecured. Said bond status is contingent upon the Defendant's completion of the Program at Gateway Recovery Program and all previous bond conditions including GPS monitoring remaining the same.

It is further Ordered that upon completion of the Program at Gateway Recovery Program the Defendant shall be returned to the Raymond Detention Center and a status hearing will be scheduled within seven (7) days ofreturn to said detention center."

It appears a little bond revocation is in order.  

 

 Leigh Bridges took the Fifth Amendment in federal court this week although it is not known if she took a fifth.  The disgraced Bridges is the former President of the Jackson Area Federal Credit Union. The credit union accused her and her husband Chad of embezzling between $55 and 95 million.

Where did the Elon Musk money go?  JJ reported Monday how SpaceX accused its contractor for the Memphis data center projects of bilking the Musk company up to $800 million while buying up racetracks and the International Hot Road Association.  Stephen Cole Smith published a very thorough story on the Hagerty Insurance website about how the contractor, Darryll Cuttell took down IHRA as he imploded, all the while blaming his problems on SpaceX.  Earlier post.  Smith reported:

State Auditor Shad White issued the following statement. 

 $8 million.  That amount is what Garrett Michael Thompson will have to pay to get out of jail after JPD charged him with sexual battery and enticing a child.  

 The cuffs might be coming soon for Leigh Bridges.  So said the former President of the Jackson Area Federal Credit Union in a motion filed in federal court yesterday.  The credit union fired Bridges earlier this year when it was discovered she allegedly embezzlement of up to $95 million.  Investigators claimed Bridges and her husband Chad used the embezzled funds to purchase swanky homes, $10,000 handbags, expensive jewelry, and even a Steinway piano.  So posh was their lifestyle their home appeared in Mississippi Magazine.

What began as a project creating a hi-tech land of milk and honey erupted into a bloody fight between SpaceX and its contractor in no less than three separate courtrooms.  The court fight involves SpaceX's massive data center project in Memphis and Southaven with the contractor claiming the Elon Musk company owes nearly $600 million while SpaceX accuses the contractor of bilking it for nearly $800 million while using the money to fund the International Hot Rod Association and purchase of the defunct Memphis Motor Speedway.

While Nancy Grace blathered away about how real it was, a real forensic scientist, Dr. Amy Santoro, dissected it all and well, came up with a different conclusion. Let's just say the word "garbage" was used.

 Former Gov. Phil Bryant once declared, “Transparency in government is critical to its integrity.” He should tell that to his buddy in the White House. The Trump administration has embarked on a widespread crusade to hide, disguise, and deny access to public data.
