Who is surprised that the car was a Dodge Charger?

Drive it like you stole it, son. It was stolen wasn’t it?

Approving these comments rather fast, eh?

Hard Times Road. 'Nuff said.

What the hell is an 'improper start'? This wasn't a track meet.

"Hard Times Road"...Indeed, boyz.

Listening to the Benny Hill Theme, should be requisite for reading this press release.

One less clown car we have to listen to

I trust Taco has some law enforcement experience. I have seen many of the states constables. I would encourage those to stay with serving process.

Anonymous said...

No names or points of origin for these 18 year old didappers?

Anonymous said...

I thought constables are elected to only to be serving warrants and other process type stuff from Justice Court and other local county courts, not handing out speeding tickets and pulling people over for traffic violations? Am I wrong in thinking this? Rules may not apply as one in Rankin County was married to a woman who had a felony and couldn't be in the presence of a firearm. I'm sure he left it at the Sheriffs dept before she went home though.

WTF is a constable doing trying to pull people over? Aren't they supposed to be serving evictions for not paying rent?

Anonymous said...

Wannabe real cop. Take away his lights/siren.

the office of constable is an elected, indepedant office. something left over from the horse and buggy days that mississippi will never let go of. this particular constable is a former madison county sheriffs deputy. he will soon be running for justice court judge in the next election cycle. theses ''press releases'' are part of his campaign to show he's tough on crime.

Well , he IS the police chief of Flora.

Little-man syndrome. Got a truck with big tires, syreeen, blue lights, 9mm, badge, worked LEO for the high shurf, well-liked by the law-community, ain't got no time for normal duties. Gonna get him some speeders and God help you if he sees you driving cross-ways in the Wal Mart parking lot.

Just wait til the legislature allows S.O. clowns and Constables to have radar.

In his 'press release' he seems to leave out the nature of the infraction for which the stop was initiated.

Police Chiefs in Flora turn over as regular as me on a lumpy mattress. How can one be a constable and police chief at the same time? Kingfish's head will explode when he realizes how those employee PERS contributions are stacking up.

Instead of diddling around with 'brain drain', Uncle Shad needs to look into this.

More interesting is the fact that the article doesn't state what the driver did wrong in the first place.

Possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm
Disorderly conduct
Resisting arrest

When the police turn on the blue lights you pull over. People with common sense know this.

Anonymous said...

Felony fleeing, in possession of a controlled substance and you sound like you hate the man that was only trying to do his job and protect the public. It was probably reckless driving that initiated the stop to begin with. You must be with the defund the police crowd.

Some light reading for those who wish to know, or not know.
Chapter 19 - CONSTABLES (§§ 19-19-1 — 19-19-15)
Section 19-19-5 - General duties of constables; training program

Four 18 year-olds on a high speed chase through a movie set - I'm sure the production crew is really wondering whether the constable overstepped his job description.

Kingfish said...

Well, it is a reasonable question to ask why a Constable is conducting traffic stops. However, the criminal records of these guys saves Burrito from scrutiny.

Check out MS Code § 19-19-5 (2023). Constables have authority to enforce the laws of the state, including for traffic infractions. Although anecdotally, it seems rare that they exercise this authority, state law does give it to them.

I "assume" enchilada had a reasonable suspicion these yutes were up to no good. He pulled them over for a traffic violation and per his profile of the perpetrators, he was correct. And I am thankful they are off the streets, however, what if he was wrong and they were all clean and good. Does a constable carry a ticket book with them? Can he write actual traffic citations?

He's no Taco. He's the Chalupa of Madison County law enforcement.

Anonymous said...

Inserting the "Taco" nickname in his own press release? C'mon man.

Just so someone will have taken the side of Law Enforcement Officers. I say good for this officer. At least they were apprehended in Madison County. They were breaking the law, fleeing from the law with drugs? in their possession and endangered lives by refusing to stop for a law official. Send them to the county farm, so they can get credit on their resume.

I like the narrative from the source, not second hand rumor. Druggies flee into an area concentrated with Police doing Crowd Control, Idiot's indeed. Attempted murder!!!!, Lucky no one was killed, but the driver did try to run over our MC Deputy. Oh, and the Probable Cause of the stop was the last charge written. Improper Start, Idiots do a burn-out in front of the Law? History teaches us, the Law man will respond.

Richard “Taco” Johnson did Madison County a big favor by running for Constable. This man is an experienced law enforcement officer and investigator. His honesty and integrity is above and beyond. I’m not his mother, just somebody who knows him.

I’ve been here several years and this the very first time ever, that I’ve seen a Press Release, provided by a constable. He moves around a lot. Madison County, FBI, Madison County, Flora PD Chief. Probably more in between those. Is it just a large ego? KF, did he just volunteer the PR to all media outlets? This just seems different.

Anonymous said...

He knocked on my door asking for my vote. I decided it was time for someone new and so I voted him. I’ve been pleased with Mr Johnson.

A constable has the same powers as a deputy. He can arrest, write tickets and serve papers Countywide, not just in his district. This constable is well respected, highly trained and highly experienced.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
