Fred is 'my man'. He got us protected from those jacked up trucks by shepherding a bill to outlaw them. Any truck with the front end jacked up mechanically over four inches is now against the law!
Never mind issues important to Mississippians that died in committee, Shanks' bill sailed through both chambers during midnight hours and landed on Tater's desk where it was quickly signed into law.
Was Fred responsible for any other bill last session? Please advise.
Go Fred. You Da Man. Go Fred.
Ahhh, the good old days of the ‘70s, south Jackson, oh how I long to make America great like that again.
The amount of trucks squatting in his district remains unchanged. That was a political stunt until it’s actually enforced.

Yes several , but you didn’t listen to the podcast .
The non-enforcement of the jacked rides reminds of the time when Jackghanistan, with much hoopla, passed an ordinance outlawing vehicles being parked on lawns. Maybe when Wunderchief Wade gets done yakking on the phone he can share how he's enforcing that law.
Shanks is a good lelgislator, following in the poliltical family tree (athough I think he will never be the Coach that his dad was). But, his limits right now are in the legislature - he will be one of the good guys (those that know how to get things done, and have a reasonable sense of what should be done.) Don't see him moving higher anytime soon, and glad to hear that he might have dropped that 'aspiration' that so many two term solons think they are entitled to and deserved, just because they had the honoriam of Rep or Sen placed before their name due to the majority of some 17,000 registered voters in their backyard.
Tried to change the PERS board. We won’t forget and we vote.
The tape (no video) is over an hour long. I listened to parts of it but skipped over the jovialities (Dad, Things I know a lot about, etc.).
The opening post above, by KF, mentions several important issues that never came out of committee in either house. Taxes, Initiative and Referendum, etc. That's what Mississippians are interested in, not in Shanks' biography or family. If you can point out the exact spot(s) in the tape where he talks about HIS bills that passed, please do that and I'll revisit the tape. Thanks.
