Madison-Rankin District Attorney Bubba Bramlett issued the following statement.
Madison and Rankin Counties’ District Attorney Bubba Bramlett announced today that Tony Levon Hill, 40, of Jackson pled guilty to one count of sale and one count of trafficking of fentanyl in Madison County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to ten years without the possibility of parole or early release. In August of 2023, narcotics officers from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Police Department, and Ridgeland Police Department were working together as part of a joint fentanyl task force targeting individuals selling fentanyl in Madison County. Working with a confidential informant, they were able to make several purchases of fentanyl pills from Hill while he was at work at a local nursing home in Madison County. The sales all took place on the grounds of the nursing home while he was working. Then, on September 7, 2023, officers made a traffic stop in Ridgeland wherein Hill was the driver. He was found to be in possession of sixty fentanyl pills which is a trafficking amount of the drug. District Attorney Bramlett stated, “I want to commend the cooperative efforts of the various law enforcement agencies who worked together to help stop the flood of fentanyl pills into Madison and Rankin counties. These officers intervened so that these drugs being sold by Mr. Hill would not ultimately end up in the hands of our citizens. This drug continues to be deadly, and people continue to seek it out knowing of its dangers. If you are caught selling fentanyl, or any drugs in Madison or Rankin Counties, know you will go to prison. If you have a loved one struggling with drug addiction, especially with fentanyl, please urge them to get help before it is too late.”

There’s always more to this story. They left out the part where a task force informant also enlisted Mr. Hill to sell the drugs after other task force informants manipulated him into a life-threatening gambling debt. Thus leaving him with little options but to take the informants offer to sell the fentanyl to save his life. Yep a huge victory for the task force. Hopefully, they don’t get DUI’s after the celebratory parties.
I wonder how much tax money was spent taking this literal drug kingpin down?
Grown adults should be allowed to make up there own mind about using drugs.
My goodness, @2:40. These agents held an enormous amount of sway over Mr. Hill. First they made him gamble, then made him sell fentanyl as that was the only way he could... checks notes... save his own life. It's almost as if Mr. Hill has no agency of his own and everyone else is responsible for his decisions. Shane on them!
I’ve never been forced into a gambling debt or told to sell drugs to save my life. Clearly, he is the victim here.
How much tax money is it worth to save a life. I know several families that would pay that to bring back their loved
Ones that died.
Rankin and Madison prosecutors are sending a message to individuals that do criminal business in their counties, “you will go to prison for a long time”. As I told y’all before in Hinds this shigity probably would have been dismissed or time served. Mama and big mama read to your grown ass children and cover the boundaries of Hinds County in your readings.
2:40 it was fentanyl. Check your moral compass before feeling compassion for a drug dealer. He should have gotten at least 20.
If the devil entices you to fuck up, is it your fault or the devil's?
3 different agencies made “several” buys but pled to 1 count???? Glad to see things haven’t change🙄
How do you make someone gamble? Can you prove any of this? Are they really that bored in Madison that they need to do this? Sounds like a lot of work. Just remember yall defended George Floyd the same way...
2:40, so you are saying none of it was his fault? Are you serious?
They shouldn’t be allowed to sell them. There are countries where they can do as they please. Fentanyl kills. Just like bullying destroy lives. People need to grow up
