Pure CYA excuse-making.

Chief Talkalot at it again.

His business card says 'Have TV Camera, Will Make an Appearance'.

Why are all those lots still empty after so long?

Anonymous said...

At least he said that would never happen again.

He’s giving lip service to the concept that noise violations exist. Which, as evidenced here, appears to be mostly a white thing. But until the officers are willing to enforce noise violations, Wade needs to give out his cell phone number.

Let's give the guy some credit. He said it would not happen again.

Once July 1st, 2025, gets here., John Horhn you are on the clock! Will you allow these things to continuously happen? Will you enforce noise ordinances on the M-Bar, Club Taste in (Meadowbrook) that's been getting away with this for over 8 years with Chokwe in office. Many Residents in Jackson don't even fear good old fashioned - roadblocks during those late hours anymore because they don't exist either. That culture has already destroyed first Thursday in Fondren. It's a matter of time before it hits Sal & Mookies at the Eastover. What's saving Belhaven is that it's no open green space and no hip hop music playing.

At least he doesn't say "right" after every sentence while bloviating.

Chief wade appeased the Rich JA and country club white home owners. Hotty toddy

When it comes to neighborhood "block parties" and the like, JPD is between a rock and a hard place. People tolerate their neighbors and friends but not the outsiders who they never wanted to "invade" their neighborhoods in the first place. Things can get pretty bad. If there is no shooting or violence it's a win for JPD.

if any of you are following the local young influencers then this party was legendary. it was absolutely lit🔥. If you wasnt there there you missed THE party of 2025.

Ever heard of the broken window theory? It's how little things snowball into big things. People in the burbs gripe and complain about traffic tickets, property ordinance violations, and noise ordinances. but guess what? That's how you keep from turning into 2025 Jackson. The little things turn into big things. While Jackson is too far gone to become what it was in the 1970's or 1980's (the tax base is gone), they could start to enforce some of these things and get some level of civility back. Chokwe all but destroyed the city in his 8 years, so we'll see if Horhn can bring back SOME law and order.

What part of noise ordinance do you not understand? They exist for a reason.

11:01, please tuck that race card back into your wallet. I don’t care if my neighbors are from the Jackson Symphony playing Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach, I will be pissed if they are playing it loudly at 1:30 in the morning. JPD is certainly not between a rock and a hard place; all they had to do was enforce the existing noise ordinance.

Krusatyr said...

I doubt JPD is equipped to scientifically measure or enforce noise restrictions any better than car window tint. Possibly such ordinance does not exist that quantifies parameters of "noise" in a legally enforceable limit. For the safety of Jackson in short term, Search And Frisk; In the long term, Parental Choice in Schools.

@11:16 - No one except immature and insecure children care what young influencers think.

Anonymous said...

11:16, I’m pretty sure “THE party of 2025” will not be held outdoors on unsold lots in a struggling housing development. And as far as the “legendary” influencers you appear to idolize, to paraphrase Bob Dylan, it will be hard when you discover that they really aren't where it's at.

Anonymous said...

11:16 said “in case you wasn’t there” how hard is it to speak properly and sound educated or at least not a fool.

Anonymous said...

12:26, It's called breach of the peace, and there are laws against it that are currently in place.

One question I never heard anyone ask was, "Was the use of that lot authorized by the landowner or was it a pop-up event?"

Anonymous said...

Don’t forget the rumble at Margaritas. No reports of police awareness of this situation in my neighborhood.

Anonymous said...

So if someone is white, and live close to where this took place and then move because of it, are they then at fault for the downturn of this Jackson neighborhood for their "white flight"?

Anonymous said...

Lot is owned by East Flora Management LLC. Sole LLC member per Sec of State is Jerry Bouldin.

What's the over-under of Wade keeping his post when Horhn is sworn in?

Anonymous said...

We have decided to close the barn door after the horse escapes.

You know those partygoes are sitting back laughing about all that loud music with sonic boom base speakers that made area residents go ballistic.

Delbert hosemann lives a block from this and it’s a very nice neighborhood with tons of renovations and lawyers doctors with kids at JA. Not any flight as my neighbor moved from Madison bc they have 3 sons now at JA and it’s convenient. Most ppl only hear of crime in JACKSON and they associate this with it. Not the case.

Anonymous said...

3:12 you are either ignorant or a liar. Delbert lives on Heritage Hill, a couple of miles from there. This inexcusable event (in a "normal", civil city) took place across from the post office and beside the library on Old Canton Road, in the "empty for years" lots. In no decent city would this occer. Our city (and particularly 39211 now) has cancer. It is as obvious as the nose on your face, and those dishing out the disease don't care and most think it is funny.

Anonymous said...

There are plenty of pastures in the rural areas, the only thing you have to worry about are the ticks!

Anonymous said...

Good thing COJ & UCI fixed that giant crater and moved the excavators off Old Canton before the event. You could have lost two or three vehicles in that thing.

Anonymous said...

Next one needs to be like the Green Lizard, way out in the country where there were no neighbors to bother, and you could just whiz over the split rail fence into the woods.

Anonymous said...

Ledumba lives closer than Delbert.

It's clear some of you were never invited to parties as teens or young adults.
Some of you never had teenagers who were invited to parties. Long ago several large parties occurred in my neighborhood. It was no big deal except to the one neighbor no one liked.
Insulate your homes better and/or buy good earplugs. And, be glad you still have young people in your neighborhoods. It means your neighborhood is thriving.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
