Madison-Rankin District Attorney Bubba Bramlett issued the following statement.
Madison and Rankin Counties’ District Attorney Bubba Bramlett announced today that Dixie Cheyenne White, 31, of Florence, pled guilty to aggravated assault as a habitual offender and was sentenced to serve twenty years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections without the possibility of parole. On June 14, 2023, the Ridgeland Police Department received a call for an elderly man who was suffering from a drug overdose. The man claimed he had been poisoned by a woman named Dixie and that she had stolen his car. The elderly man stated he had met Dixie at the Food Depot in Jackson, and she offered to come back to his house to work on his truck with him. When he was released from the hospital, investigators met with him again and discovered that his Iphone, two handguns, and two credit cards were also missing. Using tag readers throughout the area, investigators were able to locate the stolen vehicle back at the Food Depot with several people inside including Dixie White. White matched the suspect in the surveillance video obtained from the Food Depot on the date the elderly man stated he had been poisoned. White was taken into custody and interviewed regarding her knowledge of the stolen car. She confessed to investigators that she had met the elderly man and convinced him she could work on his truck. She stated that later that night she had poured some fentanyl in a soda drink so he would go to sleep. When he was asleep, she stole his guns, credit cards, and car. District Attorney Bramlett stated, “It is a miracle the 84-year-old victim in this case survived unknowingly ingesting fentanyl. The Defendant could have easily killed this elderly man in her attempt to knock him out so she could rob him blind. I want to commend the investigators of the Ridgeland Police Department for all the work they did to ensure his property was located and the person responsible was apprehended.”

Oh, I bet 'old dixie goes down' alright...!
I've been reading too much JJ. I am becoming convinced there is no goodness left in this tired old world.
60 years ago this summer I met Joan Baez at a spa. Good times.
I just bet she helped him "work on his truck".
This was a woman. Women don't do this sort of thing. Women are the huggers in our society, the care providers, the kissers of boo-boos who make it better. I'm certain there was just some kind of misunderstanding here.
Happens more often than you think. Women be trying to knock off us guys. My ex tried to kill me by making me work on her honey dos 24/7. And her cooking was bad enough to kill a horse!
I barely made it out alive! But here I am!
Dead eyes, black eyes, like a doll's eyes...
Food Depot? Man, I remember when Jackson had Jitney Jungles, Kroger's, Albertson's....basically all gone but Kroger on I-55 North
She really offered to work on his gear shift.
I believe he thought she was going to de-chrome his trailer hitch.
Sedona? Big Sur? Mendocino? Do TELL, 10:05!
Good riddance....But why would she admit to doing all of that?
