They did it. Yes, the Starbucks Baristas went on strike over a dress code. How inhumane. NBC News reported:
A strike by Starbucks baristas protesting the company’s new dress code grew Thursday.
More than 2,000 Starbucks baristas at 120 U.S. stores have gone on strike since Sunday to protest the new dress code, according to Starbucks Workers United, a union representing the coffee giant’s U.S. workers.
Starbucks put new limits starting Monday on what its baristas can wear under their green aprons. The dress code requires employees at company-operated and licensed stores in the U.S. and Canada to wear a solid black shirt and khaki, black or blue denim bottoms.
Under the previous dress code, baristas could wear a broader range of dark colors and patterned shirts. Starbucks said the new rules would make its green aprons stand out and create a sense of familiarity for customers as it tries to establish a warmer, more welcoming feeling in its stores.
But Starbucks Workers United, the union that represents workers at 570 of Starbucks’ 10,000 company-owned U.S. stores, said the dress code should be subject to collective bargaining.
“Starbucks has lost its way. Instead of listening to baristas who make the Starbucks experience what it is, they are focused on all the wrong things, like implementing a restrictive new dress code,” said Paige Summers, a Starbucks shift supervisor from Hanover, Maryland. “Customers don’t care what color our clothes are when they’re waiting 30 minutes for a latte.”
Stay on strike, kids, stay on strike. There are plenty of jobs for those holding master's degrees in aquatic anthropology.

I hope those on strike made Starbucks layoffs a little easier
Still drinking my kitchen brewed Kroger coffee. Can't draw those silly ass designs in the cream. But then again I drink it black.
I git pissed off when I don’t get my soy Lattee with mint! They better not make me wait no darn 30 minutes because they can’t figure out what to wear. I’m still waiting on them to make a Skoal flavored coffee with the little swirly cue thing they do with the cream.
“Starbucks has lost its way. Instead of listening to baristas who make the Starbucks experience what it is, they are focused on all the wrong things, like implementing a restrictive new dress code...” No a-holes, you listen to the CUSTOMERS!!!
Star who?
Well, if I ever do have to wait then I will just say “Better Latte than never”
570 of 10,000. Let that be a lesson next time you vote to unionize. I’m going to Starbucks tomorrow to support the people who came to work. And I’m leaving a good tip.
This possibly the least interesting thing going on in humanity.
Slavery! Modern day slavery! Workers unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains!
This is terrible - people are being deprived of the experience provided by a $9 cup of coffee served up by a blue-haired non-binary with nose rings. I think maybe I can gut it out for a few days, though.
I would laugh if this weren't so sad. I can remember when I was young wanting a job so bad. I knocked on a lot of doors. When I finally got one I valued it enough to do my best to keep it. Where did those kind of values and work ethic go?
As Weird Al sang "First world.. First world problems". Gingers are roofing in the full sun of Florida and happy to work. Good luck complainers.
My coffee group left Starbucks 10+ years ago- the coffee & attitude of the “ baristas” sucked. Guess nothing has changed.
6:29 100%
I love Cups locally.
7:14pm…Bingo! I’ve got a corn on my toe that gets more attention than this …
This is exactly why so many young, lettuce-headed people with black nails and a pink swatch through their hair think unions are the way to go.
Replace the 'strikers' quickly with those who 'earned' degrees in 'Women's Issues', 'Embracing WOKE' and 'Reimagining The U.S. Constitution'. Millions are available.
It's a buyer's market out there.
"Baristas" = a little weak liberal who can do nothing, but make bad coffee, that they consider art, then make a Youtube video crying about they can't work 8 hours a day, because it is to hard......and now they're crying because the company they work for is being mean by taking their individualism away by making them wear a company set of clothes!!!!!!! BIG CLUE, you "work" for them and they pay you, so they get to determine the rules at work! Don't like it, quit and STFU.
For anyone planning to visit Italy, DON'T ASK FOR A LATTE unless you desire a glass of milk. Also don't ask for a cappuccino after about 9AM. It is a breakfast drink only.
I’am blessed! Never had a Starbucks
Radical Rave hair, face piercings, and sleeve and neck tats will overwhelm corporate projection of green aprons over suitably approved clothing. I make Starbucks coffee at home: grocery cost of a whole bag of their dark roast beans close to same as one sweet caramel desert coffee from one of the slow barista people and ready in 3 minutes.
Go to a Starbucks in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Manila, even Korea and Japan. You will only find well dressed, fit, and attractive, baristas who are happy to be there.
7:41, you and grew up in an era where parents actually parented. We were told go find a job and kiss your boss's ass to stay employed.
These dandelions were told since birth that they are perfect, they make no mistakes and the world must conform to their wants and needs because they are faultless.
It is nothing more than parental failure that produced these useless, weak idiots.
Careful KF: Marine Anthropology is a real thing. Starting salaries in the low 40's up to low six figures. Median is $62k...unless you discover a lost Spanish treasure ship or pirates hoard...
