"I'll Slit Your ****ing Throat!"

Byram bails out JPD.

A man allegedly tried to carjack a Good Samaritan who stopped to help him after he crashed his vehicle on I-55 near Elton Road yesterday.

WLBT reported last night:

The Jackson Police Department is investigating after a man crashed his car, tried to run from the scene, then attempted to steal the vehicle of a person who stopped to help him.

According to Captain William Kendrick, a man hit an interstate barricade near Elton Road just after 6 a.m.

The man tried to run away from the crash and attempted to steal a vehicle from a Good Samaritan, who had pulled over to check on him.

Police were called and the suspect was taken to the hospital for minor injuries from the crash.

The victim was unharmed.

Police have not yet been able to interview the suspect, which is why his name and charges have not been released.

Well, there is more to the story.  The victim provided more information  to JJ and if true, JPD's response was rather lacking.  The victim said:

I was Door-Dashing, and headed to a pick up and this red truck comes flying out of nowhere. I get over, mind you cars coming, I practically had to come to a stop he swerved around me, and ran straight into the median, drivers side. I watched slow motion, at least it seemed that way. As soon as he connected with the wall, I jumped out and ran to him. I am a mama, I was just praying there were no children or seriously injured people. As I made it to him, he was screaming, "please don't let nobody be with me, please don't let my baby be in here!" I instantly snatched the door open and proceeded to look for kids. He smelled of alcohol and his pupils were the size of 50 cent pieces. I knew at that moment something was definitely wrong. As it registered we made eye contact, he yelled at me "I got to get out of here, I'll give you whatever you want, I got to get out of here." I told him to sit down he was bleeding everywhere. He cut his arm really badly. He then snatched my wrist that was holding my keys and told me to give them to him. I pulled back and he began chasing me on the hwy. In between cars flying. I am on the phone with dispatch. Hinds, jpd and byram. Byram showed up in 20 min as he screaming "I am Ty Cooley of Hazlehurst I'll slit your fucking throat." By the grace of God a couple stopped as he chased me to their car and let me in. He then proceeded to go to my car and take things out of it while trying to start it. I had my keys so he wasn't going anywhere. When Byram showed up (we were in jackson though) he was in my car. He became irrational with the officers. For 2 hours and 22 min we waited for jpd. To the point their supervisor demanded a Sargent and to get the chief of jpd on the phone. He ultimately was charged with attempted car jacking, simple assault, and injury by causing fear and drunk driving (allegedly) of course. When it was all over at the scene, jackson had the audacity to act like they have af. I am a Door-Dasher and an experience like this has left me so scared. Especially when 90 percent of the time my 4 yr old is with me.

Kingfish note: Not so good, JPD, not so good.

Wade has to go. Nice guy but completely incompetent. JPD is mocked widespread by Capitol police and the surrounding police community. Total joke! Jpd can’t get any worse. That god for Capitol police! What happened to the criminal from hazelhurst? They take him to Byram or Jackson ?

This is what you should expect if you try to help a Jacksonian. They're violent, ungrateful, and intoxicated, just like the first commenter here.

I thought JPD had a state-of-the-art surveillance and response center. At least that's what Chalkline and the Chief led us to believe.

Apparently he was in the run from hazelhurst not a Jacksonian. How about you just lumped everyone that resides in Jackson as that! From the rich white northeast Jackson hotty toddy millionaires to south and west Jackson. Do you think your a little short sided or are you already in the watermelon this am… maybe you should sit this one out.

Lumumba was raised to believe that ruling Jackson was his birthright. From that seat of power, he was to preside over the entire kingdom of the coming Republic of New Afrika.

Now that he and his handlers are on their way out the door, they'd just as soon burn the place down.

I had to use City of Pearl for a gun stolen out of my truck. JPD Precinct 4 could not have cared less.

What Mayor Lumumba and his Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery doing said...

86 days into Mayor Lumumba's "100 Days of Action" and there's still some work to do? Or is it 87 days?

Either way this initative only lasts 100 days so it's running out of time!

JPD is a real joke. Their culture is simply racists and they could care less about someone’s life being in danger. Get a Sargent or Chief? Yeah right, they just work there and have no idea why police officers actually exist.

Did she not post a video of the perp?
Jackson is so messed up and so incredibly incompetent that a portion was carved out and a different police dept was formed, how ashamed Jackson leadership should be but apparently isn't-so long as it is whitey's fault it isn't them. Mayor--you are a disgrace to yourself.

KF, why did you allow the first comment to be posted? That’s the mindset of jackson and their true feelings about white people and we know it but that comment should not have been posted.

JPD has been beat up for so long they just go through the motion with low pay, low morale and no support from command. The patrol cars even look sissy!
No one takes them serious. Some even put their bullet in their front shirt pocket like Barney Fife because if they do their job the Mayors Office will support prosecuting them. It just fucked up all way around!
Every time I see a JPD patrol car it reminds me of a circus. Come on down to Hattiesburg our Chief, Mayor and Citizens support our first responders. Then y’all can put your bullets back in your firearms.

Former JPD here. Yes, the Jackson Police Department is in shambles due to the Lumumba administration. I think Davis is trying to get things back off the ground but one man cannot turn things around on his own. The officers are unmotivated and lazy. I have no idea what's going to change that, though. I don't care what any of the policies are for Doordash, Grubhub, etc. If you're going to do that sort of work in Jackson, you need to exercise the rights given to you in this state and keep a firearm in your console somewhere.

10:31 Just curious but if comments have to be approved before they posted, Why do you approve comments like his? I've had comments not get approved for saying far far less and nothing racist. But his get approved?

Maybe, if the police will not take care of the crime...the people should. Everyone sits around watching the same stuff expecting a difficult result. The next mayor of Jackson will be the same as the one they have now. Good luck Jackson!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.

Trollfest '07

Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Kamikaze will perform his new song F*** Bush, he's still a _____. Did I mention there was no referee? Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.

There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.
