Bedwetter Alert!

The question here is who exactly is the bedwetter? Miranda Lambert or the fans who walked out of the concert? Watch for yourself.

But.... There might be a rest of the story.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

Which, by the way, she could stand to step away from the trough a little bit.

There are 32 links. Is this multiple choice?

I'm not sure "Bedwetter" is the appropriate caption in this case. Filming an artist performing onstage is one thing but standing in the front row taking selfies seems selfish and disrespectful - not to mention distracting. If they were embarrassed for being called out maybe they needed a wake-up call. At least they didn't throw a phone at her...

Primadonna. It's no wonder Blake left her.

I am a musician and have played in front of large crowds many times. Unless I was in a bar, I would have been annoyed by this as well, so I can relate to ML on this one. It's an annoying distraction.... but so is her music.

Good for her. Too many people are busy social media'ing during concerts instead of listening to the music.

Who?

In the words of Peter Griffin, "Who the hell cares?"

She had already gotten their money. What else were they good for? They just shower how a big of a looser they were. Didn't get to hear her sing and couldn't get their money back.

Question: who is Miranda Lambert and why is everyone talking about her?

Anonymous said...

They paid to be there so their experience should be whatever they want it to be (within reason of course)

10:25, lighten up. It's a welcome distraction from the Jackson "You Can't Fix Stupid" series of events.

Is this Lambert one of those State Fair acts I'd never heard of?

I vote with 10:11 on all counts.

I also applaud her for calling out this behavior.

"Which, by the way, she could stand to step away from the trough a little bit."

OK - so it wasn't my imagination........

I think I saw her in the Jackson Coliseum 15 - 20 years ago.

So does Miranda's fame/talent give her allowance to call these brats out?

I'm just curious if the pro-Miranda crowd would be equally ok with a janitor or a server embarrassing their kids if they are obstructing traffic for photo ops?

I personally loathe this practice and wish all artist would ban it, but I don't particularly advocate for an employee (Miranda) shaming her employer (the ticket holders) if they are not blocking the view or behaving in manner that affects others.

The cost of concert tickets prevents me from partaking these days, and I have not studied the particulars that led to this reaction so I doubt it really affects me regardless.

The "doing it for the 'gram" mindset of people these days is obnoxious and distracting to the rest of us just trying to enjoy ourselves. Posting pictures to make it look like your redneck ass is some A-lister when we all know that "private jet" is Contour Air out of Greenville, and that yacht is a dolphin cruise out of Orange Beach. Or acting like you spent the week on 30A when we all know you're at the Sandestin Hilton on a work trip. Sit down, you're not fooling anyone but the uninformed.

Eh, people pay for expensive tickets and then cheer and kiss her butt. Me thinks she protest waaaaaay too much. A few billion people on the planet would gladly trade places with her.

To me, the whole "look at me" element of social media is a plea for attention and narcissistic. Regardless, there is a time and place for things, and doing the phone selfie thing in the middle of a heartfelt ballad is in poor taste as well as inconsiderate to the artist. A true fan would've been embarrassed. But, in true GenZ fashion, they double-down on their behavior, via social media of course.

Ok maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see the big deal about taking the selfies. It’s always said that when taking pics on vacay or wherever, don’t just take a pic of the scenery, show yourself in front of it. I know of course she’s not scenery, but I would want to capture a pic of myself AT the event, not just a photo of her on the stage. If I’m on the front row of a concert, I think I’d want to take a fun selfie of myself with the star in the background to show folks how close I was. Doesn’t seem like a big deal to me and I don’t see why the person on the stage should get so annoyed.

I think Miranda needs to pipe down, sing her stupid-ass songs and thank The good Lord people are still paying these outrageous prices to support her ridiculous lifestyle. Limited time only, ya' self-absorbed cow.

Front row selfies have replaced yelling requests to play "Freebird" between songs?

All righty then!

A Gen Y girl has to get "likes" and "shares" on social media or the world will come to an end.

"to show folks how close I was"

Generally speaking, that's the part that annoys people - making everything about you.

Anonymous said...

No wonder he left her for Gwen Stefani. Hotter and way more fun

What's Miranda's problem. They bought a ticket to the show, they can take a selfie if they want. They paid for that priviledge. Miranda sounds like she's got some kind of ego problem.

They were using flashes and that irritates every performer to no end. People can say I paid for my ticket I can do what I want. Well, not so fast. That artist is performing and you are paying to see her performance, not for the right to act like a fool or mistreat the artist. No different than the college students who say they pay the professor's salary so they can act a fool in class or do what they want. Artist pours his or her heart and soul into the work, then goes out there and well, while you're performing, They are clowning around on the front row with their flashes on.

Went to see Miss Saigon in New Orleans a few years ago. Idiot next to me start taking pictures with his flash during the performance. Very rude and distracting.

"Miss Saigon in New Orleans"

I've seen her too, you gotta pay extra to take pics.

I can argue for or against both sides here.
I think pic taking kids is annoying and I think snooty condescending "artists" are annoying. Also think taking a pic at a concert is not the end of the world, and that the artist pointing out the annoyance is not going to ruin their lives.

If she wants to prevent this, then she should make her shows phoneless (I've been to several shows that were and it was great)

But it also means no viral Tik Toc videos shared of the performance which is free publicity for her.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
