Carly Gregg changed pitchers in the appeal of her murder conviction. Carthage attorney James Murphy entered an appearance for Gregg at the Mississippi Supreme Court yesterday.
A 14 year-old Gregg killed her mother and shot her stepfather a year ago in Rankin County. A jury convicted Gregg and sentenced her to life in prison without parole.
Attorneys Bridget Todd and Kevin Camp represented Gregg. Gregg filed a notice of appeal with the Mississippi Supreme Court. Although Camp entered an appearance for Gregg, Todd did not do so even though she publicly stated she would handle Gregg's appeal "all the way to the Supreme Court" if need be. Thus the only counsel of record prior to Murphy was Camp.
Todd moved to Utah several months ago. Several Todd clients have complained about the attorney in their respective court filings. One former client sued her for malpractice after a trial verdict was overturned because Todd allegedly did not submit required documents to the Court. Earlier post. Another former client faces contempt of court and over $10,000 in fines because Todd allegedly did not tell her to submit financial statements to the Court and blew off all demands by the Court for said documents. Todd is a partner with Todd, Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe.
James Murphy is not an improvement in this situation.
Has Bridget Todd been licensed to practice law in the State of Utah?
If not, why is she being held out publicly as engaged in the practice of law with a Logan, Utah, law firm?
Does she have a leg to stand on? Laying in wait to kill her stepfather & appears premeditated to kill her mom! Very very calm which is scary!
James Murphy is not an improvement in this situation. I agree with 2:48. He's a civil law, workers comp. attorney. I'm not sure how this helps.

Ineffective counsel jumps immediately to mind-
once and for all please be advised that ineffective assistance of counsel is the most often alleged and the least effective grounds of post conviction relief.
will you trolls ever figure that out?
Hold ma beer. Some of y’all said Bridget Todd was a hottie. I believe Robert Palmer sang about this in the 70’s….”a pretty face, don’t make no pretty heart, I learned that, right from the start”. With that being said Todd is running scared because she isn’t what people thought she was professionally. This Gregg girl needs to just take the punishment. She did the crime and that’s all on video. If I remember, Todd wanted to take in Gregg and be her legal guardian. Maybe she thought about waking up in the middle of the night with the “furry” holding a gun to her head or a knife. That’s a lot to think about when the Dr’s have said the girl is crazy. She is a furry and that’s all you need to know.
There is no attorney with the surname of Todd licensed with the Utah State Bar. https://services.utahbar.org/Member-Directory
A Lawyer by the name of "Murphy".
Now remind me again the whole thing about "Murphy's Law"?!
What the hell is a 'furry'. And oddly enough, Kingfish is the only one who knows Todd was referred to as Hot and a Hottie. Those posts were rejected. Hmmm.
I did? Yeah, I remember comments approved and unapproved from weeks or months ago. You've been watching Young Sheldon too much.
I thought I followed that entire bizarre case from start to finish, but I guess that I missed the part about Carley being a "furry".
6:47, a "furry" is one of those weird folks that like to put on cartoon animal costumes and pretend they are the animal. I had never heard of this mental illness until I had to share a hotel with them in Atlanta a few years ago. We were having a normal business conference and the "furry people" were having a full blown convention. I had never seen such until then.
I would have never guessed Carley Gregg was into that lifestyle.
But then again, I would have never guessed she would calmly kill her mother and then casually play with the family dogs ... while calling a friend to come over and look at the body.
I’m under the impression that a young teen can not be sentenced to life but only 20 years.
Her Mom found her weed. My Mom found my weed BUT I didn’t kill her. What pretense of life was she living under? Teenagers today need to live by real world standards!
Wake up parents or your kid just may kill you.
To not put on sentencing evidence in a case like this is indefensible. And likely will get her relief from her sentence. But that will likely have to come through a post-conviction proceeding and not direct appeal. She will need better lawyers than she’s had to navigate that.
Kevin Camp is great just wish he didnt let Bridget drag him into this case.
Todd should have stuck to theater when she was growing up... she definitely a clown
Legal Aids are engaged in law practice with law firms too.
As many attorneys as we churn out every year in Mississippi there are maybe 3 or 4 in the entire state that could even begin handling this appeal in hopes of lessening her life sentence. The Gregg family doesn't have enough $$$ to make that happen.
We raised furries for substance , it was either chicken, pork or furry for dinner!
She is still listed on website for firm in Utah. Kingfish had found it . https://dianepitcher.com/about-us
