Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba submitted his campaign finance report to the Municipal Clerk today.
The Mayor reported four contributions and most were associated with IMS Engineers. Hizzoner's January 31, 2025 report stated he had $28,000 cash on hand. The Mayor reported contributions of $321,608 for his 2021 campaign.

It's all fabricated just so he can say he has turned it in. There is no way this is all the contributions and disbursements. No F'ing Way.
Lumumba basically flips a big middle finger to everyone in the Legislature without the courage to pass this session's campaign finance bill to increase transparency and provide some actual teeth to penalize loser politicians who refuse to follow the law.
I note that he shopped at the Clinton home depot, rather than Jackson's. How very unloyal to his city.
He can't even shop at the Home Depot in JACKSON, instead of in Clinton?
If he signed his name like potus more people would like him
He couldn’t even use the Home Depot in Jackson to give the city some sales tax money?
Crazy that anybody gave him money at all. How nuts are you to give him money and live in Belhaven or Eastover, and realize all your neighbors are going to realize you supported a person that hurt Jackson so much?
He shops at the Clinton HD because they switch from MoTown to Hip Hop…Jackson HD plays strictly HIP HOP and Rap. I can’t tell you show many times I have written corporate to complain about this.
One of his listed donors, Derrick Cannon, hasn’t lived on Harewood Pl. in seven or eight years.
He didn’t even get his party’s name right. It’s the Democratic Party jackass.
Frankly, I'm not sure these days we should contribute to any campaign and have to submit our names when just not supporting the candidate in power can unleash his ire. Indeed, why vote unless we can be paid for our vote, right? Musk is offering a million...maybe we could all hold out for more!
@3:28 -- Exactly! Don't blame Lumumba -- blame the legislature for their lack of accountability. Is there an agency responsible for policing these campaign finance reports? Give Shad Musk another $2 million and let's start fining these "public servants" for not filing -- and randomly audit the shady ones. In the words of Oliver Anthony -- Lord, it's a damn shame.
Yeah, I recently saw baby Chok in Target in Flowood at night. Even HE didn't want to go to Target on County Line after dark!
Cain must be getting paid by the Racial Animus PAC and that's why there no disbursement in Gumflapper's report for the money he's receiving.
What’s up with Dr. Calhoun donating to Lumumba?
@ 4:13, He didn’t even get his party’s name right. It’s the Democratic Party jackass.
Maybe he was secretly listening to Rush(not the band) back in the day…jackwagon.
What's the penslty for turning in a fraudulent report?
Where can I sign up to get $4,000 in a month putting up signs
So, his contributions and disbursements equal, effectively, his cash on hand. How coincidental and impossible.
I guess his money and pity-seeking trip to Detroit didn't pan out like he planned.
Please note that Dr. Calhoun is PhD doctor, not to be confused with the Cardiothoracic surgeon Calhoun, MD, who did not contribute to campaign.
I did some work for IMS on a project many years ago. At the time, they had very little in-house expertise and subcontracted virtually all of their work to actual engineering firms. IMS existed so that publicly funded clients (like cities) could claim they were hiring a minority firm. It's not surprising that they would be plowing money into the campaign of the mayor.
Turn in your keys and city ride Chowke, you are toast!!!
Will Chowke have to pay his stylist now?
8:31 it's just not reported, like other contributions.
At least he didn't fill this one out in pencil, like the last ones.
Everyone seems to think Chokwe will loose. Are you forgetting with a Jackson education many voters can only read his name.
I'm sure the donations had nothing to do with these contracts...

3,500 + 3,000 + 3,500 = 10,000 from Calhoun, Hill, and Cannon (allegedly CEO, president and VP of IMS Engineers, the company that received a $2.1 million program management contract in January)
and

$1,000 from Larry and Margaret Perry (allegedly affiliated with New Way Mississippi, a nonprofit that received a $400,000 no-bid litter pickup contract in March)
I know this sort of thing isn't new and probably not that unusual, but just not a good look in my opinion, especially considering the recent indictments.
What's truly sad is that nobody on the Council challenged, even in court, that no-bid contract. No way that contract is kosher.
Thanks for the clarification, 8:57, makes much better sense. I’ve evaluated proposals from Calhoun’s IMS, they can be quite amusing.
