The Haleyfields & the McDaniels

The Chris McDaniel campaign sent out the following email:

Supporter,

We officially filed our challenge on Monday.

Sadly, the Mississippi Republican Party declined to hold a hearing on the challenge. That is very unfortunate.

Because over the coming days, you will hear evidence regarding thousands of illegal or ineligible votes, most of which were cast by Democrats for Thad Cochran.

Soon we will file for judicial review of the election results, and it's important that everyone knows about all the unfortunate oversights that happened in the June 24 election.

It's also important we remember that there is a second front in this fight: the Republican Party’s has so far refused to hold those individuals who were responsible for the race-baiting ads to account.
We cannot let this behavior go unpunished. The Republican Party must stand up and condemn these divisive tactics.

Even worse, RNC Committeeman Henry Barbour has admitted to funding the race-baiting ads. This type of behavior does not belong in the Republican Party.

The Tea Party Express has published a report that details much of what we know about the race-baiting in this case study. I recommend you read it and share it with your network.
Remember, Republicans engaged in this race-baiting. And not just any Republicans—the leaders of the Party in our state. They all but outright called good conservative Mississippians racists.
And not only did they use money given by Republican donors to finance the despicable ads, they also used $250,000 which was donated by pro-abortion, pro-gun control activist Michael Bloomberg.
Even worse, they also hired a known Democrat Strategy firm to assist them with their efforts. The firm's clients include Barack Obama, Planned Parenthood, anti-gun rights groups, and radical environmentalists.

These are the politics of division—not the politics of a new, growing, prospering Republican Party. Republicans should not operate in the realm of dividing men one from another. We should unite around our shared ideals.

The good news is there are some leaders out there who are willing to stand up to the Republican Establishment. Erick Erickson has been a strong voice, as has Ed Martin.

In case you’re not familiar, Ed Martin is the Chairman of the Missouri GOP. He is a true conservative leader. He has been among the few to stand up to the Barbour’s race-baiting tactics.
Ed has called for the censure of Henry Barbour for using such despicable tactics, and we ask that you support him in that.

You can contact the RNC here, or let them know on Facebook and Twitter (@GOP) that you stand with Ed in his call for censure.

This is a two front battle, and we need all the help we can get. Please chip in $50 or $75 to help us fund our legal fight. And of course, keep a look out for more information coming on the legal challenge.

Thank you for your continued support.

Now, people are just laughing at him. Hearing some prominent supporters are about to jump off the bandwagon.

"Republicans should not operate in the realm of dividing men one from another. We should unite around our shared ideals."

Um, are you sure? Because that has been, and continues to be, your sole strategy. Stop with the bromides and the begging for money. If you mean that, take your own advice and stop shaking down your supporters for a lost cause.

Just more whining and begging for money......

"These are the politics of division."

Actually, those sound like the politics of inclusion to me. You know, reaching across the aisle and whatnot.

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse every time I comment on this race, and that is because I am. More specifically, I guess I'm beating a guy that is beating a dead horse.

It is so upsetting to me that many Mississippians are treating this guy like some sort of God. He can say Cochran votes with the Dems and they all believe it, nevermind looking it up for themselves and seeing that is a complete lie. He can have "evidence" in his challenge that is a mathmatical impossiblity and they cannot see it. I'm just so disappointed that so many are so blinded by this man. But, hey, it's their money, they can give it away anyway they want to.

Haven't heard that line before!

KF, did you copy the above text directly from the subject letter? If so, that's a horribly worded and punctuated letter.

Call me shallow, but I'm usually dismissive of documents that have not been proofread. If the author has not taken the time to make sure it's correct, I usually won't take the time to give it serious consideration.

And I'm not the only one.....

@August 8, 2014 at 12:45

You are not the only one. Yes, although I don't/can't speak for KS, as far as whether he copied and pasted etc, I have read the email on other sites and the typos are in the original.

Grammar is important. It's one thing to have typos in a comment post (I post from my cell so it happens) but this is a press release, one expects better copy.

What county is the circus going honor with the Magic-8-Ball Group, tinfoil-hats, wing-nuts, ding-a-lings and ding-bats?

Whitwell biggest success was a ban on roadside puppy sales that went completely unenforced. He won't be missed.

I am willing to send him $100 to GO AWAY. #timetomoveon

Almost every release from the McDaniel campaign has grammatical, sentence construction and punctuation errors. Yet, they are too dumb to see them.

One of McDaniel's problems is he does not fire anyone when they need it.

Has there been any 3rd party source confirming that Henry Barbour actually paid for the ads that McDaniel is complaining about?

Looked at the link to the ads for Thad said by McD to be "race baiting". Pretty typical is the radio ad that said:
"A victory by tea party candidate Chris McDaniel is a loss for the state of Mississippi. It is a loss for public education. It is a loss for the health care industry of this state, for the farm families and agriculture. It is a loss for Ingalls and the ship industry, for our military bases. It is a loss for the citizens of this state in a time of natural disaster, for our public universities and particularly our historically black universities. A victory for Chris McDaniel is a loss for the reputation of this state for race, for race relationships between blacks and whites and other ethnic groups. Mississippi can't afford Chris McDaniel. We cannot afford the price of inexperienced, untested, disconnected leadership. Billions are at stake. On June the 24th go out and vote for Senator Thad Cochran."
So how is it "race baiting" if every word of that is true, and truthfully demonstrates what was at stake for the black community, as well as the white community, in the election? In fact, it is a record that Thad Cochran can and should be rightfully be proud of.
And if McD did not intend to discourage black voting in the Run-off, why is he complaining so bitterly now that so many "liberal Democrats", his code word for black citizens, fully exercised their franchise right to vote in the Run-off?
McD, in Mississippi in 2014, we live in a multi-racial society in which blacks and whites have learned to get along and cooperate with each other toward common economic and educational goals that advance the status of everyone together for a better Mississippi. Get used to it!
You only keep proving to everyone what a throwback to the old era you are, and what is at stake if you ever put up your name for any office outside of Jones County.

@1:44

Perhaps Mitzi will chime in and answer that question for us ...

Anonymous said...

Berial, no there hasn't. There was a Washington Examiner story that interviewed the person responsible for the ads. A democrat from Jackson or somewhere close by.

bUt don't let the facts get in the way of the McDaniel zealots.

Anonymous said...

Kingfish's 'copy and paste' resulted in misallignment of paragraphs.

So, do we talk about a misplaced verb and just let go in one ear and out the other the fact that Haley Barbour and his stable of adolescents and college sophomores are race baiters and pseudo republicans? The three people who posted the above eleven or so posts seem to think so.

Hello Senator Childers. Pelosi is sending flowers.

Kingfish,
I get it now. Your blog is biased because of your censorship. The Truth shall set you free.

Anonymous said...

2:25, calling someone a racist isn't race-baiting. just because you call it that over and over doesn't make it so. using "liberal democrat" as a code word for "african-american" is race-baiting.

Anonymous said...

And let's certainly not forget the efforts of McDaniel to disenfranchise large numbers of solid Republican voters in Madison and Hinds Counties. I suspect that he is trying to do this, not so much because of "illegal" votes, but because he couldn't get a majority of regular Republican voters in either county. So under the screen of illegal votes, he gets to toss my legal vote along with thousands of others. That is corruption in my view and scumbaggery. (And for you McDaniel diehards, I've been a Republican my entire adult life (which is a long time) and I reject your efforts to make yourselves the arbiters of who is an authentic Republican or conservative.

Anonymous said...

Since when is the truth a " despicable tactic"?

Anonymous said...

The ads were true.
The Grand Kleagle McDaniel and the lawyer associated with the Klan who couldn't resist being interviewed is

McDaniel accepted money from the latter and didn't distance himself from his relative and he had plenty of chance to do so!

I am so angry over these dispicable racebaiting tactics used against Chris McDaniel. My ankles and kneecaps are about to split open from stomping on the floor. Sometimes I feel like I might burst into flames.

I am really getting tired of the same anti-Cochran anti-Jackson Jambalaya and anti-KS posters like @August 8, 2014 at 2:25 PM and August 8, 2014 at 2:52 PM who apparently have nothing to add to the conversation except the same redundant comments of “Haley Barbour and his stable of adolescents” and Cochran and his college sophomores, etc.

@2:25 PM: I fail to see why you think that it is such a crime that Cochran garners so much support from the under 30 crowd. The age to vote in this country and this State is 18 years of age. I am sorry if you feel that no one pays attention to your demographic, perhaps you feel old and unimportant, I don’t know. But you sound foolish.

@:2:52: I have read the email on this site, as well as Clarion Ledger and Y’all Politics and they are all identical. If you have evidence that KS is censoring anything, please feel free to draw that to our attention; until then, please keep your conspiracies to yourself otherwise, you sound like McDaniel, full of allegations without anything to back it up. Just because you say it, over and over again, doesn’t mean it is true.

And no, I don’t work this site, Capitol Recourses, and nor am I a sock puppet.

@ 2:52 pm wtf does Fidel Ldithun mean to you? It is absolute none sense to everyone here. I see you omitted J 333 on this post. Please tell us it's not some Klan bs.

Idithun is, in a 16th century version of the Bible, one of God's trumpeters.

Fidel is just bastardized Latin.

I suspect it's some low IQ's militia's idea of a slogan like " Semper Fidelis".

And, stomp,5:18 pm, all you want rather than go on the Internet and see the interview with McDaniel's Klan hero supporter or going even to a lazy person's source, Wikipedia , to learn about his Klan relative.

The TRUTH is NOT race baiting.

Look as long as he gets publicity he will continue "the fight". His ego is keeping him from hearing his brain, amusing he has a brain. He's everything Mississippi needs to distance itself from.

Anonymous said...

I read the "case study". "Case study" sounds so academic doesn't it? It's not. What it is, is a persuasive argument that fails to persuade. It's merely yet another helping of very questionable and certainly unprovable drivel served up on McDaniel's behalf. Like his "Election Integrity Challenge" it cites third hand allegations as evidence. KF's "Bigfoot Hunt" reference is about right. Although the longer this goes on, the more it looks like that comparison may be unfair to Bigfoot hunters.

Anonymous said...

"We'll continue the fight.

Now, if you'll just contribute $50 to those efforts..."

Stay hustling, McDaniel camp.

Anonymous said...

A shameless grifter once again.

I don't know, maybe I will give it a try. Apparently, all I have to do is join the tea party, make sure every speech I give sounds like a mix between a backwoods sermon and the Gettysburg address, hoodwink a bunch of folks, run for state office, loose, make a bunch of allegations, drag out a challenge squeezing every dime out of the idiots that buy into the bs and then I can use the proceeds to pay off my law school debt. Its actually a pretty solid plan.

Anonymous said...

Maybe he needs the money to pay the rent for a place to stay?

Anonymous said...

Chris is missing the boat here. He could raise a lot more money by promising to end the fight right away if only people would send a contribution. I'd give to that cause.

Anonymous said...

Chris, I am very close to uncovering the proof you need. The evidence is in the custody of an imprisoned Nigerian prince. The only way to get the evidence is to pay his ransom, then your small investment will be tripled, plus you will get the evidence you need. Please have your supporters chip in $50 or $75 and send it to me ASAP!

Anonymous said...

Why hasn't Jim Hood issued a warning about McDaniel's email scam?

Anonymous said...

Forget Jim Hood - the Prime Minister of Nigeria has warned the people there not to open any emails from Mississippi in the future. :-)

Anonymous said...

Here's a solution. Go form your own third party. Take your platform and sell it to the people and see if you can win general elections. Please stop identifying yourself as Republicans. Those of us center right Repubilicans are sick of you trying to steal our Party.

Anonymous said...

Yes! A thousand times yes. @2:05 PM.
Against my better judgement, I read some of his facebook fans comments on his page. Gee whiz, those poor people. I am reminded of the Jim Jones cult of personality.
Just yesterday, I watched the youtube link of Gallo making McD squirm like Nathan Thurm on SNL.

Anonymous said...

I don't know what it looks like from inside the Old Confederacy, but to the nation as a whole, McDaniel's attempt to disenfranchise thousands of black voters appears to be the most openly racist act of a southern politician since the 1960s.

The Mississippi Republicans are showing common sense by disassociating themselves from this regressive sociopath.

Anonymous said...

This has been funny to watch but now we have a political candidate demanding he be declared the winner against the will of the electorate and that party members must be purged and punished. As a student of history, when a politician starts making those types of demands, it ceases to be humorous and becomes down right scary.

Anonymous said...

8:04
Quite right you are. It is scary. The guy has shown real authoritarian instincts to purge and punish those who refuse to take his maximalist (and racist) views that are deeply incompatible with a modern, multiracial a Mississippi.

Anonymous said...

My favorite McD churchy Thad bashing woman, appeared to be older than Thad by about 8 years from her profile picture. She bemoaned that Thad was obviously too old to be senator. The irony was lost on her. When someone challenged her, she damed them to hell, while all her posts are religious quotes.

So today, Sunday, there was nothing on tv and I found myself watching Ancient Aliens on History. What bothers me about this show is that the “scientist” start with a conclusion, aliens have been present throughout human history. Then, taking their conclusion as true, they go about proving it by pointing to any and every event that could possibly support their conclusion. This leads them to say things like “a funnel cloud led the Israelites through the desert, could this have been a flying saucer?” and “this Egyptian group worshiped a sun disc, could that have been a spaceship?”
It then occurred to me that this is the same thing that bothers me about McDaniel’s challenge. McDaniel starts with the conclusion that the election was “stolen” then goes about finding evidence in every “irregular” ballot. This is backward. You start with the evidence and see where it leads you. McDaniel obviously never won a ribbon at the science fair.

Anonymous said...

In Geoff Pender’s editorial in Sunday’s clarion ledger, Pender discusses McDaniel’s challenge and notes that McDaniel did not conduct his own studies. The regression analysis was conducted by FiveThirtyEight blog (which included a caveat that the analysis was conducted the night of, morning after the runoff and it was too early for the analysis to be anything more than speculative) and the poll was conducted by Chism Strategies. This did not register with me when I read McDaniel’s challenge.
If McDaniel is using third party studies for his “evidence” but he keeps asking his supporters to donate to fund his challenge, then it begs the question, what is McDaniel spending this money on?????

Anonymous said...

KF: can you post this: NMissBlog:
"The “regression analysis” that is critical to McDaniel’s contest arguments was from a weblog, not a McDaniel expert!?!"

Anonymous said...

Is there a legitimate reason that the study was left out of the online copy made available by McDaniel? Was McDaniel just hoping no one would check?

And how does this analysis have any evidentiary value when McDaniel cannot attest to its accuracy? Sorry McDaniel, not just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's true.

It is breathtaking really how McD has descended from a bright young legislator to dark, foreboding villainy, revealing ever more authoritarian instincts. Election challenges are not favored, setting a negative background, but Tyner and McD have filled that dark landscape with at times both extraordinarily laughable hucksterism and incompetent attempts to simulate evidence, with truly sinister attempts to disenfranchise the votes of thousands black citizens in the election, while threatening to purge and punish moderate but conservative Republicans who see through his and Tyner's schtick. It would make a good movie how a promising young politician descended into both laughable and dangerously sinister villainy.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
