McDaniel files complaint with MS GOP

State Senator Chris McDaniel filed a complaint of an election contest with the Executive Committee of the Mississippi Republican Party.
The Election Law Blog has a pretty good analysis on its website.

When I think of McDaniel and this circus I am reminded of a quote from a Greek tragedy: "Whom the Gods would destroy, they first make mad."

Antiestablishment candidate appeals to establishment?

Nice @10:30!

I just checked, apparently they decided to leave out the Jefferson County courthouse misadventures.

We'd be inventing the phrase wtf after all this, but someone else beat us to it.

Wow. The document contains hundreds of names of private citizens. It arbitrarily associates these private citizens with criminal wrongdoing. Virtually all of these people are Republican voters. Due to the closeness of the election, it is statistically likely that approximately half of these voted for McDaniel, first in the primary and again later in the runoff.

Some of these people may be upset about having their privacy violated and their honesty impugned.

I glanced at it this afternoon. It appears to be assuming a lot of voter intent which if which you would have to personally grill every voter on the list based on our open primary system. And theres no hanging chads. The petition author wants the election given based on the information if I understand it right, and it really does not provide proof except to say "it's there" but it would all have to be verified and, again, voter intent discerned. McDaniel campaign has nothing and I predict a soon to be announced election certification for Cochran.

Page 90 is priceless.

Page 90 could be relevant to the discussion in multiple ways.

Zorek (whose parents were obviously Zorro fans), surely you know it is not the petitioner's responsibility to prove, but only to present credible evidence to the court. The court weighs, considers, scrutinizes, applies knowledge of applicable laws and rules and either accepts the evidence as proof or the court rejects.

You're riding the wrong ghost-horse with your 'voter intent' theory.

The Election Law Blog is pretty good.

One of the things not mentioned is that relying on telephone polling of potential GOP voters , which McDaniel apparently does , that were conducted ONLY on land lines is ludicrous in this day and age.

Every pollster gives their error rate and the demographic evidence of who they reached.

Apparently, the McDaniel people don't understanding statistics or even basic math at all!

IF DOBs have relevance, it is in the number of under age 35 voters, few of which were reached by polling and whose numbers voting would have been enough!

Do remember , too, that McDaniel's bogus robocall made more than a few young Republicans angry.

And, I agree with 11:46 am. I can no longer attribute the tactics of McDaniel to insanity or stupidity. The lack of ethics is too profound! Sleazy is the only word left.

Is it legal for us normal people to sue Chrissy and Bitch ooops I mean Mitch to end this crap. They are costing all of us tax payers huge sums of money because he can't handle the fact that he lost.

OMG! Page 90 and they didn't recognize 2 of those names and understand why they were accepted?????

I can't wait to email them and the other 5 other names of " crossovers" I personally know! If they voted Democrat ever, it'd be the FIRST time in their lives!

They are either the most clueless people ever in politics or are just making this stuff up!

They haven't read the paper or been to any charity event in the last 2 decades????

McDaniel doesn't recognize the names of big time MS Republicans?

Are we sure he was ever a Republican?

He sure as hell must not have gone to any fund raisers!

These folks are burning all their bridges!

Has the TTV's huge Texas law firm offered McDaniel and Tyner partnerships?

I just can't think of another reason they would wreck their firms by horrifying every potential PAYING client in the State with their incompetence and lack of attention to important details!

I wouldn't let these guys write a simple power of attorney or simple will!

Some of the most incompetent lawyering I have ever seen. It's almost not fair what Butler Snow is going to do to them.

8:47am The answer to your questions is obvious. They are clueless, making this stuff up,cannot read(comprehend) and have not attended any event other than PATRIOT meeting.

I would say what is google for the goose is good for the gander. People like Kim wade, Melanie have said they will not support the eventual nominee if it thad and Chris will not say if he will so their vote should be thrown out .

Went to a social event of some size today and to say people are incensed to unfairly have their names in a court document is an understatement.

And, FYI, I'm WASP and was at a WASP gathering of GOP people.

Lots of wrong names.

McDaniel people, here's a news flash, some Latino names can be that of people who are Cuban. Some children of big time Republicans are in med school and aren't in the precincts you expect to find Republicans apparently!

They don't much like being accused of voting illegally!

And,native Republicans who make over 6 figures a year mostly know one another.

Page 44 they cross out MISSISSIPPI and write in TEXAS. So now they cant even find the correct state.

I realize it will be lost on the McNuts but Chris is all bent out of shape because he cannot see all the voter information however he asks the GOP committee to have a secret ballot vote to determine the nominee. As I said they will not see the irony. Also, tit for tat when they discuss people who voted but did not or do not plan to support the nominee just go to mcdaniels facebook page and look at everyone who is his friend and you will find many who say they will vote childers.

Ah, yeah, the UMC students be pissed. Good going for the future, genius.

My sister made the famous list. She is beyond pissed. Last I heard she was demanding to see proof McDaniel had taken and passed the MS Bar exam. And she won't let this go ..... Ever.

Jordan Russells name is listed as a absentee voting error. Only thing is he works for Cochran. Voter intent cant be discerned. A lot can be attributed to voter error and not conspiracy. If there is something salvagable its not enough for the MSGOP to just give the election to McDaniel, aside from the fact that there is no president for it either. McDaniel's Tea party enablers are killing him

Thanks for opening up a new class, McDaniel. There are some people you just accused in a court document of committing a crime without an iota of proof, and pissed off doesn't even begin to describe their reactions. I expect the first lawsuits to start coming your way in a week or two.

Anonymous said...

Good work Chris and Mitch - you can't even file a lawsuit without counting voters twice... Why is David P. Goodwin listed on page 98 and 100 ? And you are idiots if you think most of the people on those pages ever voted democratically in their lives.... Please please go away...

I see where this might be going. If my imagination isn't too far stretched, then the victims of this " list" are taking it hook, line, and sinker.
How would a voter prove that they in fact didn't vote in the DEM or REP primary and/ or runoff?
My theory~~~~~~~~~~
---------------------------------
Victim: "that poll book is wrong."
Tea party: " the only way you can prove that is by checking the ballot you actually used to vote. The Supreme Court of Mississippi says we can't see them nor can you."
Victim: " I want to see that d**n ballot box so I can prove how I truly voted in order to clear my voting record."

Hmmmmm.

Does my theory/ hypothesis of where this might lead hold any water in reality?

Lawyer, oh lawyers. Where are you?

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
