Pearl Police Chief Nicholas McClendon issued the following statement.
On February 12, 2026, officers with the Pearl Police Department responded to a report of a domestic assault on Oak Park Drive. When officers arrived, they determined that Ray Stewart had assaulted a female victim. Stewart then barricaded himself inside the residence and refused to comply with officers’ commands.
During the initial investigation, officers learned that Stewart had an extensive criminal history, including a prior violent conviction. Officers also discovered that he was in possession of multiple firearms despite being a convicted felon. |

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Stewart and a search warrant for the residence. The Pearl
Police Department SWAT Team was activated to ensure the safety of nearby residents and everyone
involved. After several hours of attempts to encourage Stewart to surrender peacefully, SWAT officers
used a kinetic breach to gain access to the rear of the home. Stewart eventually exited the residence and
was taken into custody using a less-than-lethal device. A subsequent search of the home resulted in the
recovery of more than ten firearms. Stewart was transported to a local hospital for evaluation by
medical personnel. Upon release, he will be booked and charged with Aggravated Domestic Violence
and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
We are grateful for the professionalism and dedication of the officers who responded to this incident. Their teamwork and commitment helped bring a dangerous situation to a safe resolution. We also appreciate the patience and cooperation of the surrounding community during this extended operation.

Y’all leave Hinds County Judges alone, they’re doing the best they can! They have Social Work syndrome that caters to criminals until one of them kill someone well known and important! They care less about the mom’s and pop’s that are trying to have a better life and can’t fend for themselves.
On another note, it just amazes me that when some people do stupid shit they hide from Law Enforcement! All they wanted this gentleman to do was just come out of the house and tell his side of the story.

I will educate you that Glock model numbers do not indicate the caliber. A Glock 40 is actually chambered in 10mm. The Glock 23 is chambered in .40S&W

I went and added punctuation marks as a convenience for you guys but of course pricks like you mean no good deed goes unpunished. One of them looks like a Glock 27, which is a .40 Glock. Don't like it, take it up with the police.
