Well, well, well, it appears Jackson City Councilman Brian Grizzell, threw a little temper tantrum at the February 10 City Council meeting.
It is no secret Butt-hurt Brian was not happy when his brother, Lieutenant Vincent Grizzell was demoted from his Deputy Chief position recently. The Council meeting gave the Council President his first chance to strike back at the JPD Chief Tyree Jones and the administration of John Horhn.
Two agreements (MOU's) between JPD and the Capitol Police were included on the February 10 agenda.
The first MOU authorized the two agencies to work together in the Real-Time Crime Center. The agreement allows the Capitol Police to contribute up to five employees for staffing the Real-Time Crime Center. A JPD official will supervise the Real Time Crime Center. The Chiefs of both agencies or their representatives will comprise a Joint Oversight Board.
The second agreement allows the Capitol Police and JPD to cooperate on crime scene investigations.
Butt-Hurt Brian did not bring the two agreements up for discussion and a vote but instead referred them to the Public Safety & Parks Committee. Does anyone want to guess who heads that committee?
What other mischief will Mr. Grizzell cause for JPD? Stay tuned.

Pretty on brand for Jackson to put tribal identity over progress.
One of the rare occasions when it is not a black v white issue.
Is he for the woman police chief?
Crabs in a bucket.
On some occasions astute observers will discern that the reason given is actually an excuse rather than the reason.
