Sucker punches, stripping, pouring semen on the face and sharing it all on social media is the hell a 14 year-old Pass Christian High School soccer player suffered from his teammates several years ago. While the young man tries to recover, his family seeks justice in court. If the complaint is to be believed, it is probably the worst bullying case ever reported on this website.
ACD was a member of the Pass Christian High School soccer team for the 2020-2021 school year when he was 14. The alleged bullying began after several teammates thought he didn't deserve the playing time he received. The complaint alleges teammate Karsten Mooney bullied him throughout the school year at practice.
ACD suffers from Darier's Disease. The genetic disease appears in adolescence and remains for life. There is no cure. The symptoms include greasy, wart-like bumps appearing on chest, back, and scalp. The bumps are often smelly. The sores may have been pungent but they smelled like honey to Mooney and his gang as they proceeded to torture him (allegedly) by placing Icy Hot in his shorts and cleats. They rubbed his clothes in old lockers that were grimy and dusty so it would aggravate his condition. At times, they hid his clothes. The complaint accuses Mooney of stealing his money on away game trips so he could not buy something to eat.
Since this is the age of social media, what else did Mooney do but videotape the bullying and share it others. Showing the tormenting of the young man on social media is something that would happen over and over throughout ACD's ordeal. Did we mention Karsten's father, Jed, was the vice-principal of Pass Christian High School. He is now the principal of Pass Christian Middle School.
Going to Camp
PCHS hired Michael Archbold as Head Soccer Coach in May 2021. He decided to take the team to a week-long soccer camp at Jones Community College in June. The junior college hosts camps for various sports during the summer. Jones's Soccer Coach, Brendan Connolly, operated the boys soccer camps. Coach Connolly set the policy.
Coach Connolly sent a letter to the parents stating a coach would be assigned to each team staying in the dorms and the college's men's soccer team would be acting as chaperones during the camp. There were even written Policies for the Protections of Minors. The letter stated:
Supervision - Each team will be assigned a head coach for the duration of the camp. Coaches will also live in the dorms for the week to ensure adequate supervision at all times. Jones College men's soccer team will also be here to act as chaperones for each team.Unfortunately for ACD and other kids, the letter did not square with reality. Coach Connolly did not stay at the dorm as he claimed he thought Coach Archbold would stay with the team. The Pirate's coach in turn said Jones College never told him he would be staying in the dorms and was responsible for the players. He allegedly said he though the college was responsible for the supervision of his players.
Coach Connolly later testified in deposition the assigned head coach was not responsible for supervision as it lay with the head coach. The college soccer players ran errands such as filling water jugs and helping coaches. Such was the extent of their supervision as they did not stay with the campers in the dorms.
The result was the Pass Christian High School boys soccer team was allowed to live in the dorms for a week unsupervised. Given the alleged bullying that took place, it doesn't take a genius to figure out what took place.
Boot Camp for Bullies
Once he arrived at Jones College, a week of hell began for young ACD.
Mooney, MR, MM, and TC wasted no time in abusing (allegedly) their teammate on the first day of camp. MM and CR held down the student while Mooney stripped him completely naked. They told ACD it was "only the beginning."
ACD later took a nap only to wake up when a vienna sausage was shoved down his throat. The bullies poured Vienna sausage juice on him and his bedsheets.
Later that day, ACD got dressed after taking a shower. TC and MM pushed him down and held his arms again. CR and another boy held his feet. Mooney allegedly stripped him completely naked yet again. However, this time, the miscreants videotaped the assault and Face-timed the video to a girl. Mooney threatened to videotape "your tiny penis" and show it to the girl.
LL, ACD's best friend, intervened and stopped the assault. However, the foursome began bullying LL and called him a "pussy" for not taking up for his friend sooner.
The stripping happened again the next morning when Mooney, MM, and CR burst into his room, screaming "round three".
The torment only worsened. ACD tried to sleep after the morning session. The Foursome poured steaming Ramen noodles on him. His skin started burning due to Darier's Disease. The bullies laughed as he suffered.
Nighttime fell but nothing changed as the Foursome stripped ACD again. They tried to strip another player, BS, but he was stronger and fought them off. ACD left with BS as the Foursome called them "pussies."
The Sexual Assault
A hungry ACD ordered food from Chick Fil A. As the Foursome was yelling they wanted ACD's chicken, he bought them some Chick Fil A food as well "to buy some freedom." He thought it worked because the complaint claims the bullies went to another room "to get high." Instead of freedom, ACD suffered sexual humiliation of the worst kind.
ACD went to sleep around midnight. The complaint claims CR jacked off into a bowl and poured the semen on ACD's face while the other three bullies videotaped it all. ACD woke up and ran to wash it off while the foursome yelled they were going to show the video to everyone, which they did. MM showed the video to ACD as he shamed the victim further.
The bullies allegedly sent the video out on the team's group chat. MM is laughing hysterically in the video. He shared it on Snapchat. ACD said the video was on the Snapchat of almost every boy who went to Pass Christian High School. The complaint says ACD's classmates either felt sorry for him or thought the assault was funny.
The abuse continued. The complaint charges Mooney kept spitting on ACD, teasing him about what happened, and called him a pussy for not fighting back. KM and CR testified in deposition they would not have participated if someone was supervising.
A security camera showed KM spitting on ACD from the balcony and throwing things at him. After the ACD's parents saw the video, it somehow disappeared. Jones College said the other cameras did not work.
Hell didn't end for ACD but continued after he returned home. Indeed, the abuse only worsened.
More Abuse
The Foursome teased ACD about camp on social media. ACD and his parents reported what took place. Their attorney sent a notice of claims to PCHS. The Foursome allegedly began a coverup, destroying evidence and social media messages. They allegedly met to get their stories straight. An investigator eventually talked to them. Thankfully, some of the messages were saved in screen shots.
Mooney admitted lying to investigators about what happened at camp.
ACD transferred to another school for the 2022-2023 school year and joined it's soccer team. When his team played Pass Christian High School, Mooney wore a Jones College shirt. The plaintiff alleges the Foursome called ACD names throughout the game. The complaint charges Mooney ran across the field and sucker-punched ACD from behind as he left the field during another game. Mooney received a red card and had to sit out the next two games.
Mooney allegedly broke into ACD's truck and stole his wallet at a Halloween party. The little thug allegedly told his friends on Snapchat he took the wallet. A girl told ACD he could come get his wallet but he wasn't going to get it "without a fight." It is not known if ACD got his wallet back.
The complaint claims ACD and his girlfriend went out to dinner in ACD's truck. Mooney allegedly tailgated him and tried to "run him off the road several times."
Hell continued for ACD as he became known as "Cum Boy." ACD could not play a game without the other team or its student section yelling "Cum Boy" and "Nutty Buddy" at him.
ACD's father described the family's suffering:
[it] sucks that we can't help our kid. We brought him into this world, and we cannot do anything for him. You can't do anything for him. Y'all can throw some money at him, put a kid in alternative school. That does not change the fact that he wakes up tomorrow and has to think about who the hell is at Walmart, who is at the restaurant that I'm going to. If he's got his girlfriend and he's going out to eat he's got to think who the hell are we going to run into, is there going to be a conversation, is there going to be a confrontation. And if he sees Karsten Mooney at the movies, do you think Karsten Mooney is going to walk right by him? Hell, no. Because every time that he has seen ACD he has done something whether it's driving behind him in a car or sucker punching him from behind in front of hundreds of people on camera. They don't care. ... My son lives in fear every day.
The abuse followed ACD to college. The cum incident arose when he participated in a college soccer tournament in November 2024. ACD tried to take his own life but his parents and law enforcement thankfully intervened in time.
The complaint relates ACD went to a behavioral health center "after his mental breakdown." ACD suffered more bad luck as he passed out from a sedative that caused a traumatic brain injury. He can no longer drive due to seizures.
Consequences - Somewhat
The defendants obviously disputed the allegations against them. ACD and his parents went to the coach and school administration but apparently received little help. U.S. District Judge Louis Guirola stated in his opinion on a motion for summary judgment:
ACD believes they bullied him because he was given more playing time than his teammates thought he deserved. ACD reported the bullying to the head soccer coach early in the soccer season, and the coach said that he would handle it. When the bullying continued, ACD once again notified his coach (Archbold's predecessor), who responded that there was nothing he could do. PCHS Assistant Principal Jedidiah Mooney, who is the father of KM, also criticized ACD’s soccer skills from the bleachers at games.
ACD’s father testified that he reported teammates’ bullying on three occasions, and the coach agreed to increase supervision of the team and to enhance the punishment for bullying. Shortly thereafter, ACD was removed from the soccer team because he was sent to alternative school for bullying a special needs student. His former teammates did not bully him during the remainder of the school year or at soccer try-outs that spring. However, Assistant Principal Mooney taunted ACD about his grades and prevented him from participating in a school assembly after he returned from alternative school.
The parents reported the abuse to the school and police after their son returned from camp. The Pass Christian School District promptly investigated. The District held disciplinary hearings before placing Mooney and CR in alternative school for 180 days and MM in alternative school for 90 days. Mooney appealed and got his sentence shortened to 90 days. PCHS reduced MM's cut MM's sentence in half. TC received an in-school suspension.
The Court Fight
ACD's parents, Jennifer Thompson, and his father, sued the Pass Christian Public School District, Jed Mooney, Karsten Mooney, CR, TC, MM, and several John Does in U.S. District Court on May 20, 2022. The complaint charged the defendants with sexual harassment under the 14th Amendment, violations of ACD's substantive due process, civil conspiracy, negligence under the Mississippi Tort Claims Act, negligent infliction of emotional distress, assault & battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The case went through a substantial amount of discovery in federal court. Conolly, Coach Archie, CR, MM, Karsten Mooney, KM, and ACD were deposed.
Judge Guirola held Title IX did not apply to the type of bullying experienced by ACD. He determined the school district upheld its duty to investigate and discipline. The Court dismissed the federal claims but allowed the state claims to stand. However, he declined to exercise jurisdiction over them and dismissed them without prejudice on March 19, 2025.
ACD's mother took her ball to Jones County Circuit Court and filed her lawsuit. Her complaint charges Jones with negligence under the Mississippi Tort Claims Act, equitable estoppel, promissory estoppel, and detrimental reliance, negligent misrepresentation, and negligent infliction of emotional distress. The plaintiff argued Jones breached its duty to supervise ACD and the other minors at the soccer camp. Jones ignored its duty to place adults on site to supervise after promising parents the minors would be supervised.
The complaint charges the Foursome with civil conspiracy, assault & battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The complaint seeks damages for medical bills, private school tuition due to the forced transfer, mental anguish, pain, suffering, humiliation, and punitive damages.
Attorneys Christopher Van Cleave and Douglas Tines represent the plaintiffs. Matthew Miller (Copeland Cook) represents Jones College. J. Henry Ros is the mouthpiece for Mooney and Blake Thornbro represents CR. TC and MM are representing themselves.
The case is assigned to Jones County Circuit Judge Dal Williamson. The Court scheduled a hearing for January 20, 2026. Judge Williamson has not ruled on the motion for summary judgment.
* The Mayo Clinic defines Darier's Disease:
Darier disease, also known as keratosis follicularis, is an autosomal dominant disorder affecting the ATP2A2 (ATPase sarcoplasmic/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ transporting 2) gene and typically manifests during adolescence. Clinically, the disease presents with greasy hyperkeratotic papules and plaques in a seborrheic distribution, along with palmoplantar pits and acral keratosis. Skin lesions may be pruritic, painful, and/or malodorous.

Jail the parents. Complete and utter parenting failure.
Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate!
The problem with default judgments is collecting on them.
Wonder if JA's soccer team has any openings for transfer players?
Does Mooney work for ICE yet? Or just local law enforcement?
Goon squad soccer.
Mooney now in Army. One went to Belhaven. Another went to Millsaps
The Pass Christian School District has to be enjoying all the positive press about their High School Principal
Mooney was arrested for DUI first on 12/29/24
If accurate, Mooney being enrolled in the military after this type of prolonged abuse is the problem, in my opinion. These are the types of individuals that would love to kick someone's door in following by kicking their ass. A shithead like this should not make it through any background check that requires approval by the military or law enforcement.
Is there some sort of loophole in Mississippi's mandatory reporter law?
Was any of this ever investigted by law enforcement?
He likely won’t. All of these filings absolutely implicate his security clearance and likely initiate a military investigation. We’ll see.
Stankin Rankin?
One of the boys was a college cheerleader at a community college in Alabama and the other one ran track at Belhaven
I was abusively treated by other students and a PE instructor in Junior High. Mostly it amounted to extra fist fighting and wrestling and being graded down by the instructor, an ex-marine drill instructor. Basically I defended myself and learned how to read psychos. Obviously, at 15, I could not fist fight the Marine asshole, but I won a 440 where he rooted for everyone else.
This is the most 'Gulf Coast' thing I've ever read. As sleazy as 'Mississippi Mud' was (everybody in that book: the Victims, the Perps, the Author... seemed to be, as Uptown New Orleans folk say, SUB-CHALMATIAN). Chalmette's real close to Pass Christian.
This story is like the old Vic and Nat'ly cartoon books - only, instead of being humorous in its grotesquerie, it's PURE EVIL. If Bunny Matthews had gone dark-sided, THIS is what he would have depicted.
The darkest moments in Fellini's 'La Strada' (which will leave you devastated) are not as dark as this tale. It's not just the bullies: it's the Judge, and the bullies' parents, and all the authorities who should have intervened.
I collect demographic maps, and one, from 2020, applies to this tale: 'Largest White Ancestry in Every US County'. Zoom in on the area connecting New Orleans with Pass Christian. Then think about the crowd who, in the 1800s, burned the Colored Orphanage in New York (hoping to kill the children inside).
Hoping that our own orchids might be as spectacular as the ones at the check-in desk at Red's (best gym on the planet), we were having ours transported from Jackson, and boarded at a greenhouse in Lafayette. The Grower, an authentic Acadian, filled-us-in, regarding the New Orleans area (a traditional wellspring of oppression, for Acadians). Apparently, if one was deemed, at Ellis Island, to be unfit for entry into the United States, one surreptitiously boarded a tramp steamer headed for the Gulf. Big Religion was waiting, to smuggle-one-in.
Ellis Island's rejects...
Once, rained-out in Seaside, we headed for New Orleans. Friends warned, "Don't stop in the Mississippi part!" We did, and regretted it. That fast: minutes. Our being brown, dressed by Trillion and Maison Weiss, and in a Volvo, was all it took. No wonder Jackson and Delta people have, for generations, gone out of their way to avoid The Coast.
This story confirms what we perceived.
Mooney looks like a prime candidate for MHP.
4:03 uuhhhhhhhhh thanks...I guess. You need to get out more.
