Some people are screaming what else but racism after a Wisconsin restaurant said it will not seat people drenched in the skunk smell of marijuana.
At the Mayfair Collection in Wauwatosa, the parking lot at Golden Nest Pancakes and Cafe is always packed. But now, some customers feel like they’re caught in the middle. It’s because of this sign inside: “Please do not enter if you smell of marijuana. Golden Nest Pancake and Cafe is a family restaurant and this is unappealing while guests are dining.”... “I think this is fairly hilarious at all that this has become an issue,” said Doney. “A lot of our customers were complaining about individuals that we were allowing in the restaurant that smelled like marijuana or a skunk, actually, which is how they attributed it.” Some say they feel the sign is targeted. “Basically, a group of young individuals. A group of African American individuals that you do not want visiting,” said customer Yolanda. “You cannot exclude someone for smelling like marijuana just like you cannot exclude someone for having body odor. I don’t see the difference.” Doney says that’s not the case. “There’s no demographics about it. I don’t care if you’re old, young, doesn’t matter,” said Doney. “We’ve never had any other issues with any other odor before.” “I think marijuana was very intentional because had they said no smelling of smoke, then maybe everyone wouldn’t feel so targeted,” said Raines. “Why can’t I come in and have breakfast? My money is as good as anyone else’s.” Others say they’re worried other restaurants may follow suit. Article
They worry "other restaurants may follow suit"? We can hope such happens. I don't give a damn if an adult smokes weed. I also don't care if someone drinks. However, no one likes being around someone who reeks of booze and many don't want to be around people that smell like a skunk.
It is a smell that is getting harder to escape. One can't walk through Walmart or Kroger without smelling it. You smell it driving down the road. If they want to scream racism, tough luck. It's called enforcing civilized behavior. People don't want to smell your stinky skunk-smelling ass so take your money and go somewhere else.
Kingfish note: Koestler Prime enforces a similar policy. Are there other restaurants in the Jackson metro area that do as well?

The restaurant has the right to not serve people for smelling like weed. I do believe grown adults should be able to make up there own mind if they want to smoke weed
Simple solution is to stop smoking blunts so you don’t reek. It’s not just the cannabis smell. It’s the dog turd smell of cigars mixed with cannabis that is unique to the AA toker.
Just plain stanky
This is fake news. You can always find some person willing to go on camera with foolishness the media likes to blow up. Their are plenty of black institutions and people who do not want the smell of marijuana in their premises and find it annoying. You can always find some idiot willing to ignite the race fire for nothing at all.
Culture.
Only Blacks blow weed? Who knew?!?
If they drive to a restaurant smelling for weed they are DUI driving.
If you don't get your way raise the "race card," right Rukia?
Body aroma is not a protected class for purpose of equal protection laws--even if you identify as a skunk.
Cannabis remains illegal for recreational use in Wisconsin, with possession penalties including up to 6 months in jail and/or $1,000 in fines for a first offense. Medical marijuana is not fully legal, but CBD products are allowed under strict regulations.
OK reefer madness
what da hell else is a person now gonna do when they get the munchies?
You’re right to stink ends where other people have to smell you.
…and you realize they’re talking about customers at breakfast, right?
The perpetually offended strike again.

I hate to break it to you, Yolanda, but you can exclude someone for having body odor too.
Ever heard of Barney’s Breakfast Bar? It’s a wonderful place.
Legalizing this shit was a bad idea.
So how much did our leaders make in their blind trusts by allowing this? It’s still illegal by federal law and I stand by that. As an employer it’s not good to have it legalized. Not matter how you look at it it’s bad. If I have to fire an employee for drinking then tell me why I should allow a pot head to toke on the job?
The government shouldn’t have the right to decide how GROWN ADULTS live their lives.
If they use pot then don’t hire them
The racists are the ones complaining.
I smoke two - three times a day, nobody ever complains.
"The government shouldn’t have the right to decide how GROWN ADULTS live their lives. "
Correct. However, they can decide whether customers can stink up the joint the OWNER wants the place he/she invested his savings in and built into a property that will support his or her family while also providing employment and and support to the community.
Weed use is not a protected class.
And it’s none of their business
The restaurant could have a separate section for them
These two girls are exhibits A and B for the fact that most people don’t have the excess intellectual capacity to function stoned.
"Racist" is now officially the most overused word in the English language, so much so that it is worn out and void of all meaning.
