JPD issued the following statement.
At approximately 2:35pm this afternoon, detectives identified the deceased as 15-year-old, Kaden Young. Detectives also identified the second suspect in this case as 18-year-old Quintavion Myles. Warrants were obtained for Myles’s arrest. At approximately 5:28pm detectives advised Myles had been arrested and charged with Murder. He was booked into city holding and is awaiting his initial appearance. |

Young was a freshman at Jackson Academy in the fall semester but is not enrolled for the current semester.

WLBT broke the news at 8:34. JPD sent out a press release identifying him after 8 tonight. WAPT broke it at 8:19. Are y’all over there giving those tv stations hell for reporting it? Are you giving them hell for “clicks”. Of course not.

Actions have consequences, and the reality is brutal. No excuses. But at 15, you’re still largely a product of what you were handed. That’s the tragedy.
Those are news outlets. You’re not. You run a gossip blog.
Those new outlets didn’t report where he was formerly enrolled at school because it’s not relevant to this situation. A family lost their 15 year old due to a bad choice.

Why are JA defenders mad at KF? Does the news of this not align with “JA is bliss” narrative? This news outlet is simply reporting the news like all other news outlets.
Everything KF reported is news, so you snowflakes need to get over it, even if you’re afraid the facts reflect poorly on JA. I quite frankly don’t see why anyone would be upset over KF picking up something the mainstream media has already broken.
This boy was my friend and a great kid. It’s not his fault he grew up in poor conditions, this could have very well been a peer pressure situation. No one should speak down on him because no one knew him. May he rest in peace.

A 15 year old kid was killed. It shouldn’t matter where he formerly went to school and the headline shouldn’t lead with it. But, KF is capitalizing on the Voyles lawsuit and looking for clicks. That’s the problem.
I see this crap every day with my job... "my baby aint bad" "he didnt mean it" " I promise it won't happen again" and guess what even on Sunday they make "bad decisions". This one just won't make another one!

Those criticizing KF for publishing news must think protecting JA is more important than posting relevant news. If I had a kid at JA, you are damn right I'd want to know he attended school there two months ago. It's tragic for everyone but don't yell at KF for posting news.
I think KF posts on at least 50% of the cases in the Jackson metro where someone uses a gun to defend themselves against a criminal committing a criminal act.
This alleged criminal just happened to be 15. His alleged accomplice was 18. Old enough to have a gun, old enough to commit a violent crime, old enough to kill, old enough to F*ck Around, old enough to Find Out.

The kids who knew this child while he was at JA say he was was sweet and funny kid. He left and who knows what crowd he was running with. So sorry that these 15 year olds didn’t jump on JJ to leave their heartfelt comments. Check Snap…you’ll find all the messages you have been missing.

I "grew up in poor conditions" also, but I was smart enough to not try a home invasion at 2AM with a ski mask and a gun. Stop making excuses. Millions of others like me who "grew up in poor conditions" fixed the problem by making good grades in school and moving on to be constructive citizens.....
"Great kids" don't commit felonious violent home invasions. Period.
I’m going to summarize some of the comments, in two categories:
1. Unless KF writes a story on every single crime in the metro area, then he can’t report on any of them without being biased and racist.
2. Calling out bad behavior is a sin.
That’s basically a criminal’s wishlist.

These kinds of stories need to be told to show that consequences are real.
Oh good grief Boomer. He was looking for “heartfelt messages” from JA people. I was simply directing him to the place he could find said messages. Kids use Snap, not a blog run by and commented on by adults who clearly didn’t have enough fun at their Super Bowl parties to be in bed already.
By all accounts of the kids who he went to JA with he was a very nice kid. Unfortunately his parents could not afford to send him there after Christmas. Prayers for his family and friends.
