How dumb can a criminal be? Pretty dumb if he wears his ankle bracelet with GPS capability when he carjacks someone. Such stupidity was on display in the courtrooms of Hinds County yesterday as two judges stuck Marcus Thompson, Jr. behind bars yesterday after JPD arrested him for aggravated assault in two shootings.
Hinds County Circuit Judge Tomie Green revoked the bond of Nawffside Ouda yesterday. A grand jury indicted him for armed robbery and carjacking in 2017 and assault on a LEO in 2019. He was released in May on a $50,000 bond. The bond order required him to be placed under GPS monitoring.
JPD arrested Thompson Monday for two counts of aggravated assault after he allegedly shot two people. The motion to revoke his bond stated in an exhibit:
On July 31, 2020; Marquavius Adams and his girlfriend Mariah Millerer were shot while sitting inside of a black in color Chevrolet Tahoe. Three suspects riding In a light color four door sedan opened fire on the complainants in front of 2652 Williamson Avenue. The complainant Marquavius Adams was able to identify suspect Marcus Thompson aka Ouda as being the shooter he saw firing a .45mm handgun at him.Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens observed Thompson's initial appearance in Jackson Municipal Court yesterday morning. Judge Jeff Reynolds set Thompson's bond at $1.2 million.* Judge Green revoked his bond a short time later.
Marcus Thompson is out on bond by the Hinds County . District Attorney's office for three felony
Indictments and is wearing an GPS Ankle monitor. Thompson's locations show him on the street where the shooting of these complainants occurred on July 31, 2020.
* $500,000 for each aggravated assault charge and $100,000 for being a felon in possession of a gun.
Kingfish note: There is a murder charge included in the booking sheet posted above. Trying to get more information.
The home of Thompson's parents was shot up yesterday as well.

As another poster says, and not meaning to cut in but, it is what it is.
.45mm handgun - now I bet that's something!
There are no words
Was his bond set at $50,000 because he had been indicted for armed robbery and carjacking three years prior, but still not brought to trial?
If the answer is "yes," as I suspect it is, I'm blown away at how many violent crimes this year have been (allegedly) committed by thugs who were loose in society while under years-old indictments, simply because they were never prosecuted by the former DA, Robert Shuler Smith.
Yes. Let ‘s let these people out early- Criminal justice reform my ass. Lock them up!
What a special kind of stupid. Hopefully he has not reproduced and infected the rest of the population with his superior intelligence.
I know it’s been said a million times, but Robert Schuler’s tenure was a complete disaster on so many levels. I still don’t understand how the man still has a bar license.
Yeah, he'd kill you - and no damn foolin'.
I bet it chapped her ass to sign that order !!
Product of the JPS.
45 millimeters is bigger than a 12 gauge shot gun shell. It would take a “real man” to shoot a pistol that big, and another “real man” to survive the shot.
Am I the only person who smells a "pay for release" type scam in play involving these judges and courts in Jackson? Get Shad down there NOW!
Jody has a lot of cleaning up to do after Robert Schuler.
Life is hard...it's harder when you're stupid!
@8:16, no a .45cal isn't bigger than a 12ga. It is however a large pistol. Many people cc .45s. I know I do. The reason I carry a .45acp? It's because they don't make a .46.
Village idiot is gonna village idiot.
@8:16am - it said point (.) 45 millimeters, which would be an minuscule round that would have bounced off anyone it hit - about the size of a grain of sand. But I get that you were calling them out for labeling a .45 caliber pistol as 45 millimeters or .45 millimeters. All three of those measurements are vastly different.
The media has no clue about guns except to say that they’re all bad.
@7:55 JPS does not create or raise children, parents do. He's a product and a bad one at that, of his parents.
