The Mississippi State Department of Health issued the following statement.
In an effort to ease the stress
on parents during back-to-school preparation, the Mississippi State
Department of Health (MSDH) now offers a convenient way for parents to
check their child’s immunizations record online and print out the
required Certificate of Immunization Compliance (Form
121) for school registration.
MyIR
Mobile is an internet-based portal that gives consumers access to their
official state immunization records based on information housed in the
Mississippi
Immunization Information eXchange (MIIX).
MyIR
Mobile allows users to not only see their own immunization records, but
to also add family members to their profiles in order to see if their
child is up-to-date
or needs their next vaccination. If none are needed, a certified Form
121 can be downloaded and printed.
“Prior
to this service, parents had to get the Form 121 from their
pediatrician or healthcare provider. This always caused a huge rush in
the weeks leading up
to the beginning of a new school year,” said MSDH Director of
Immunization Jennifer Fulcher. “This program will save time and save a
trip to the doctor’s office or county health department.”
MyIR
Mobile requires identity verification through a phone number or email
address to keep records safe and secure. Only immunization records of
Mississippi
residents are accessible through this program. Mississippi is the first
state nationwide that currently uses MyIR Mobile.
Mississippi state law requires children to be immunized against childhood diseases to enter
public or private school, Head Start or daycare.
There is also a vaccination requirement for 7th grade entry.
MyIR Mobile is available at
www.MyIRMobile.com.
Immunizations are available at county health departments by appointment.

Should have been done a decade ago and no f'ing reason why it couldn't have been.
Let's hope the website containing these records is secure from hackers, but my cynical side says that it isn't.
Dear Sam: why, pray tell, do your immunization records need to be a state secret?
@10:02
Because it is none of your damn business. And if you are too simple to understand the concept of parallel construction or other methods that adversaries can use to piece together profiles on citizens through publicly accessible data, then you are ignorant and should really read a book or something.
10:02, would you be concerned if your prescription for Valtrex was hacked and leaked to the members of your church?
State information systems have a piss-poor record of security and DLP efforts, and the attack surface expands exponentially with the introduction of an app.
Good luck!
@11:03 - God forbid someone knows I'm being treated for chickenpox. Adjust your tinfoil, sheeple.
@10:57 & @ 11:03, thanks. Some people "get it." The records include more than the vaccine used, but also birthdates, addresses, parents names, and more. In addition, that is HIPAA protected information, as it should be. This information when leaked become part of the identity theft package.
9:29 - a decade ago?
Let's check your social media account (can't do it with your anonymous name) to see if you have been screaming about government spending, tax rates, bureaucracy, etc.
In Mississippi, as in 49 other states, and the federal government, the IT systems are generally decades behind what the private sector has available. In order to provide this kind of service it needed more than just IT, it also needed broad internet usage, which had just begun a decade ago.
And there is a f'ing reason - its called money. The DOH is not bleeding excess dollars in its budget every year, and a decade ago (following the financial crash) their budgets were being cut along with all other state budgets.
But, this is a government "service" -- and as such, in some folks minds, that doesn't cost anything. If you live in that world, then I guess there is no f'ing reason.
And the clown Sam is back after a several month hiatus. I’m guessing a mandatory vacation at Whitfield?
The Site Sucks. Finally was able to access one of my children's records and it had the last 7 years of shots Past Due. It only links the records through your birthdate and phone numbers. Tried every phone number we had for the other kid... nothing. So stupid. Should be through your social.
Still calling my doctor for the 121. Another Dept of Health fail. Prepare for liberal to blame Tate in 1...2...3...
