Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
On Sunday February 9, 2025 at approximately 4:00 p.m. a Rankin County Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a Black Nissan Passenger Vehicle for a traffic violation. When the deputy activated his lights and siren the vehicle failed to stop and accelerated. While pursuing the vehicle the deputy observed the driver repeatedly throwing a powdery like substance out of the driver’s side window.Additional deputies and other law enforcement agencies joined the pursuit. A Rankin County Deputy was able to get ahead of the suspect and deployed “stop sticks”. This action disabled the vehicle and it came to a stop near the intersection of MS Highway 25 and Marshal Road. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
During the arrest deputies and the suspect were exposed to dust inside the vehicle which was suspected fentanyl. Flowood Fire Department responded to the scene along with Pafford Ambulance Service to examine and evaluate all persons exposed. During a search of the vehicle, deputies recovered several different colored pills throughout the driver and front passenger area. Deputies also went back and searched the general area where the suspect was observed throwing evidence from the vehicle. A field test of the pills showed a positive result for Fentanyl. The driver of the vehicle, Marlon Brian WARNER, was placed under arrest and was transported to Rankin County Jail. Marlon Brian WARNER is being charged with Felony Fleeing and Felony Trafficking of Controlled Substance.
Marlon Brian WARNER has a lengthy criminal history. The Rankin County District Attorney’s Office will Marlon bring Brian WARNER before Rankin County Court Judge David Morrow for an initial appearance. The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with our local police departments, state agencies and federal agencies will continue to make combating this deadly drug one of our top priorities.

"The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with our local police departments, state agencies and federal agencies will continue to make combating this deadly drug one of our top priorities." While I honestly applaud their efforts the war is lost unless we can change the minds of our abusers and addicts. Simple supply and demand.
How to house all the mules of Rankin County. Asset Snatching might buy more jail space. "The Mules Of Rankin County" could be a book and a movie or a series, KF could write it all.
Throw the powdered sugar donuts first, but hang on to a dozen for the eventual arrest.
I guess it was a slow day for the RCSD and they didn't have any real criminals to go after. Let me guess, the vehicle had an out of state tag from a border state. Profile much?
@11:06AM, something in your rant tells me that if you are stopped by RCSD (or any LEO) you will be taking a trip to the Rankin County Detention Center.
@11:06 Marlon Warner (51) of Jackson, MS. Could this be the same Marlon Warner who was incarcerated for manslaughter in 1994 and released in 2000, served a year for cocaine possession, then hired by the former mayor, Frank Melton @ 2007 as a city employee? RCSO - thank you!
Naw he ain’t that old!
Marlon, did you know not to enter Rankin or Madison counties doing illegal shigity! You will be prosecuted swiftly and sent away a long time if found guilty! Good job to all the Law Enforcement involved.
For ever drug mule caught how many got through?
Murka's got us a little problem with this fentanyl. And them Mexkins best to get to doing some 'bout it or it's gon' be some trouble.
Good thing they get handed all these busts by the Interstate Drug Interdiction Task Force, otherwise Bailey would be the scumbag who is: a) covering for his senior leaders involved in an insanely illicit team, or; b) so inept a leader as to not have uncoverd his senior leaders involvement in this illicit team and corrected it.
Internal agencies, and news supportin publication of RCSO as in any way “successful” is fake news.
@6:43 - that would be far better than RCSO protecting their turf from rival gangs. You may be giving them too much credit based on their track record.
Did they taze him in the nuts or shoot him in the mouth before they planted the drugs?
