D.L. Gardner: Politics Firmly Rooted in 5th Estate

According to the White House website, in his first few weeks of office President Trump has begun to make America safe again “ending Biden’s catch-and-release policies, reinstating Remain in Mexico, building the wall, ending asylum for illegal border crossers, cracking down on criminal sanctuaries, and enhancing vetting and screening of aliens.”

These and other statements on the White House website are fodder for those infected with TDS or Trump Derangement Syndrome. Who knows what’s true or not in politics? Politics has its own ecosystem that lives off of somebody else’s money. President Reagan probably had as good a simile as anyone else regarding the government: “Government is like a baby: an alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.”

The Constitution divides the government into three co-equal branches with certain checks and balances. Some branches are more equal than others. The fourth estate or ‘the Press’ has inserted itself as a Constitutional branch having at least equal power over the appearance of the government.

President Woodrow Wilson and his progressive progeny birthed and nourished the fifth estate commonly called the bureaucracy or the deep state. No other branch of government has any authority over the fifth estate though the original three branches all claim some element of control.

For example, the legislative branch claims governing authority over the bureaucracy because it gives the beast life with legislation and funding. The executive branch claims administrative authority over federal departments, agencies, and bureaus that mimic the motherhood of republican governance.

After World War I, President Wilson envisioned government looking something like a department store. The 1920s really did roar with all kinds of relationships between government, business, and industry. Excesses from that decade led America and the world into the Great Depression. If not for the progressive vision of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, America might have dug its way out.

But then, the father of all governance, i.e. democratic political warfare flourished across Europe. Marxists bred socialists who bred communists whose cousins were fascists and Nazis. Where did all the kings, queens, and oligarchs go?

Someone in America discovered an old, dusty copy of the Constitution about the time World War II was ending. An American hero emerged from the rubble of North Africa and Western Europe, and the people elected him the 34th President of the United States of America. David Dwight Eisenhower, Ike for short, brought stability and prestige back to America.

Eisenhower had earned his reputation in war as well as international relations the hard way. At the Potsdam Conference in July 1945, General Eisenhower opposed the use of the atomic bomb against the Japanese, arguing that Japan was on the verge of surrender, and the U.S. would lose prestige internationally if we were the first to use the weapon.

More than any other leader of his time, Eisenhower saw dangers in the growth of what he called the “military-industrial complex.” According to one biographer, “Due to the combination of national defense needs with advances in technology, he warned, a partnership between the military establishment and big business threatened to exert an undue influence on the course of the American government.”

In spite of Eisenhower’s warning, the U.S.A. has become firmly rooted in the Fifth Estate.

Aside from the usual pat on the back for Republican execs and backhand for all things Democrat, what's the point? Give it a rest.

Big Shot chastises EU for NATO spending and says they should spend 5% of GDP, but we spend 3.4%.

In 2023, the United States spent 13% of its federal budget on defense, or about $820 billion. This was less than the 15% average for the previous decade.

China is building hundreds of ships. Last year we built five.

Exactly, how again, is Big Shot going to make the US "strong" when he's cutting Defense by 8% for 5 years? As China and Russia ramp up their spending.

Come on, DL. Tell the truth sometimes.

How old is D.L.? Who in Mississippi supported Republicans against Woodrow Wilson or Repubs later in the 40's and 50's. This state was solid Democrat (or Dixiecrat). Cheerleading for Trump is expected but revisionist history is not necessary.

Displaying limited knowledge, are we D.L? Woodrow Wilson progresssive? Ooooookay. As previous comments reflects, some of us can comprehend beyond the label.

The fifth estate is alternative media.

All that matters is Trump is winning. You libs can piss and moan and stomp your little feet but he won and he continues to win!
He is a good man. He loves this country and everyone in it.
Trump is not the boogyman you claim he is.
He loves his family and our country.
He believes we should only go to war to defend our country, and not for profits.
If you attack him, he will hit back. But that doesn’t make him a bad guy.
Trump’s biggest flaw is he never stops thinking believing in himself and thinking positive.
He hasn’t stopped believing anything his possible since the 70s when he worked for his dad collecting rent and dreaming of buying a rundown hotel and using it as a vehicle to turn around a dying city.
He loved New York, and he loves America.

Woodrow Wilson was a dipshit poser who allowed the U.S.A. to be taken over by a certain Banking family, thus the creation of Federal Reserve that has stolen trillions from the American people toward their own destruction.

Abraham Lincoln was a risk-taking leader OF his time.
Teddy Roosevelt was a visionary leader OF his time.
Eisenhower was a pragmatic leader OF his time.
Trump will be seen as a Savior of the Republic needed in our darkest hour , regardless of what D.L. or the press ever say.

@2:34 PM Fellow Traveller, you are on the mark. But this kind doesn’t believe that progressives were pro-eugenics. They also dont believe Nazi’s were socialists. So you are going to have a tough time convincing them that they have always been the bad guys because they think that abortions and supporting sex changes for kids means they are virtuous!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
