Daveon Reed flunked out of the Hinds County Catch & Release program.
The Hinds County grand jury indicted Reed for being a felon in possession of a firearm in December 2024. The indictment was not served upon him until a month later when he was arrested for auto burglary on January 15.
Reed allegedly burglarized four vehicles on London Avenue, Highland Circle, Crestview Place, and McDowell Road in December. Hinds County Court Judge Johnny McDaniels denied bond since he was under indictment. Enter Madison County.
A Madison County grand jury indicted Reed for conspiracy to commit armed carjacking and auto burglary in 2022. Reed pleaded guilty to the indictment. Madison County Circuit Judge Dewey Arthur sentenced him to serve 12 years in prison in August 2022 but suspended seven years of the sentence.
The Madison County District Attorney learned of Reed's latest escapades and notified MDOC of his indictment in Hinds County. MDOC filed a motion to revoke his probation on January 9. Judge Arthur revoked his probation and sentenced him to serve three years and six months in prison. MDOC promptly took possession of Reed.
Kingfish note: Many thanks to the District Attorneys of Hinds and Madison County for working together to get this guy quickly off the street for several years.

In 2022 he was sentenced to 12 years with 7 suspended. That leaves 5 years. 2022 plus 5 equals 2027. Why wasn't he in prison in 2024/2025?
Just curious as to why he doesn't get the original 12 years he was sentenced to?
This fool already started tattooing his face. When he gets out in a couple of years he will have a full face tattoo. Bless his heart! Damn the circus won’t even hire him.
Why was the majority of his Madison County sentence suspended?
Thank you both (above).....This makes NO SENSE.
6:21, A better question is why did he get 5 years to serve and was out in a year and 4 months?
Seems nice.
Another casualty at the hands of the po-lice. Could’ve been a doctor, could’ve been a lawyer. Well, to the good side, though, your daughter won’t be bringing him home to your house, telling you that he’s a tragic and misunderstood victim of The System.
