Bill Crawford: Guest Took Moral Stand on January 6 Commission

Republican Rep. Michael Guest voted “yes” on the bill to establish an independent 9/11 type commission to study the January 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol.

Guest is a Republican member of the House Homeland Security Committee chaired by Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson. The committee’s top two leaders, Thompson and ranking member Rep. John Katko of New York, met over four months to hammer out the bill. In the end, it closely resembled a proposal put forward earlier by House Republican leadership. This led Katko to believe GOP leaders would allow members freedom to vote their conscience.

The GOP political worm turned, however. A leadership memo went out to Republicans pressuring them to vote “no.” Consequently, 175 House Republicans did, including Reps. Steven Palazzo and Trent Kelly.

But 35 voted “yes,” including Rep. Guest, allowing the bill to pass 252 to 175.

“We need answers to questions surrounding the events of Jan. 6,” Guest explained to Mississippi Today. “I believe the long conversations that have happened over the last few months have produced a commission that is fair and is structured to find actions that Congress can take to prevent another such attack.”

When I read this, a favorite Bible verse popped into my head: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Rep. Guest chose not to conform but to discern, standing up for what he sees as a fair and needed study. We seldom see such moral fiber in today’s demonic politics.

“This is going to be a very fair and balanced commission,” said Katko, “As the Republican Leader of the Homeland Security Committee, I feel a deep obligation to get the answers U.S. Capitol Police and Americans deserve and ensure an attack on the heart of our democracy never happens again.”

Regrettably, Guest’s fidelity may have been in vain. As this was written last Friday, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who rules the Republican caucus in the Senate with an iron fist, was pressuring GOP Senators to filibuster the bill.

Hmmm.

Right after the January 6 attack McConnell said:

“I want to say to the American people the United States Senate will not be intimidated. We will not be kept out of this chamber by thugs, mobs or threats. We will not bow to lawlessness or intimidation….They tried to disrupt our democracy. They failed. They failed. They failed to attempt to obstruct the Congress….This failed insurrection only underscores how crucial the task before us is for our republic. Our nation was founded precisely so that the free choice of the American people is what shapes our self-government and determines the destiny of our nation – not fear, not force, but the peaceful expression of the popular will.“

Such is the dark nature of the modern political world that concerns about future elections and retaining power overwhelm issues of conviction and virtue. So despite his bombastic words, McConnell is back conforming to this political world and forcing his colleagues to conform.

We need more lights to shine in this darkness like Rep. Guest.

This was needed. It’s time good, upstanding republicans voted with the party that slaughters babies, thinks you become a woman by putting on a dress (and then showing your junk to preschoolers while reading them transfilth at your local shemale day at the library) partners with china to destroy the economy over a nothing virus and pisses on the constitution ever chance they get, to investigate a bunch of old, discombobulated boomers wandering into the capital to take pictures while a bunch of paid internet “stars” working with Antifa and for the FBI steal Nancy’s podium.

@10:34 And there comes the full fledged QANON loon who thinks it was ANTIFA on January 6. Please go back to your OAN cave.

Surely it is no surprise Crawford and other Democrats support a bogus, politically motivated shame. This has one objective - to "officially" defame a former President. Guest is simply a compliant, beltway elitist. Better said, he is a useful fool.

Anonymous said...

Some real accountability would be great with fast and furious and Benghazi, but I know nothing will ever come if it.

Anonymous said...

Anyone who quotes scripture to defend the actions of today's Democratic party automatically forfeits all credibility.....as if Crawford had any in the first place.

Guest is only being complimented by the country club republicans. The Romney, Paul Ryan, Chaney, Bush globalist republicans that are officially dead. In other words, the Lincoln Project types. How did that work out?

Guest is hitching his wagon to a dying breed of corporatist globalists, which is foolish on his part.

More importantly, it shows that he in no way shape or form represents the interests of the people, only the elites. He will sell out to Pelosi, Schumer, and the Swamp any chance he gets. He has long since sold out, which is remarkable considering he only just got there.

If you believe in government by the people, get this coward out of office. If you believe in Koch/Soros/hedge fund billionaires controlling our country, keep voting for this spineless empty suit.

There are at least five committees/entities already investigating January 6. Egos, grandstanding, RINOism, legacies, and partisan politics were the force behind trying to create this commission.

It's not needed! Redundancy!

Guest just voted himself out of office. Period.

Why does Rankin County produce so many RINOs?

Yes!! @11:43 There’s never “accountability” when something worth investigating happens. But, even when the government does investigate there’s never accountability, just more CYA for their buds whether they are the guilty or the accusers.

I cannot even take people seriously that think there was an “insurrection.” It is blatantly obvious to anyone without a political agenda that it was a staged, coordinated event by some (odds are not Trump) that led to deadly reactions by others. Talk of an “insurrection” is a flat out joke and was the final push to discredit Trump. Period. Stop wasting tax dollars. Doors were literally opened with escorts, not to mention that more people die at the hands of violence in an hour on any given day in D.C. But yeah, let’s call it an “insurrection.”

My take on Guest supporting this shit show is his ego. As a prosecutor, he’s looking for someone to pay in any investigation. Maybe he thought the truth about it not being any kind of coordinated insurrection would come out, who knows. Regardless of that gamble, he doesn’t have the ability to walk away from any investigation. I’ll never vote for him again for not taking a stand against this ridiculous waste of time and money. His actions do not reflect purity in politics. His actions reflect a back-scratch for his next move.

To those supporting an investigation. If you can’t look at the hundreds of hours of videos available and piece together where the faces of that day stand politically, then you are beyond helping. If you’re not able to process information and make a decision based on facts in your face versus the narrative and catch phrases being pushed by media and democrats, you are beyond helping. It’s bizarre watching folks be swept up into ideas based solely on destroying a guy who talks gruff. (I’m not a fan of Trump’s personality, but absolutely support his policies.) It’s a little amusing to watch everything he said now be proven true by the media. I just hope we all survive the next few years. Bludgeoning the tax payers (individuals and businesses) and spending like maniacs on ideas that are not truly hepful to either the people, businesses, or the environment is such an irresponsible waste. But hey, obviously there are millions of people who like having a lower disposable income deteriorated by paying more for everything they consume and do. Your guy is driving now. Power to you!!

Bill Crawford, through a formal letter, quit the Republican Party over 25 years ago. That is a true story. US Rep. Michael Guest is nothing but a pushover. I am sorry, he seems very nice; but, we don't need nice. We need conservative values and a willingness to stand behind those values when they are threatened by radicals from San Fransisco and New York. We also need someone that truly understands that those same radicals will do ANYTHING to gain and hold power. They are not his "friend" or "colleague" in Congress, they would just assume stab him in the back.

The "storming" of the Capitol building was a sad day for America; but, the blame can and should be spread all around. This commission is a smoke-screen. Look over there, not over here.

Good for Guest!
Some of us trust our own eyes and ears and retain common sense.
I prefer a representative who has the courage of his convictions and convictions based on the best available facts.

The party of Trump has become , not a party of facts and ideas, but a party of cowards, sociopaths, hate groups and admirers Putin and other strong men... those who care more for self-interest and personal power than our Nation.

Ever notice that anyone who might be the slightest bit against Trump gets called a RINO? MAGA is a full fledged death cult that’s beholden to a two bit criminal who speaks to his followers’ rage and racism.

Well @2:22 you pretty much said it all. But don’t expect the Democratic boot lickers here to come to their senses. These clowns are the same idiots who jumped for joy at the millions of dollars and lies of their political leaders trying to bring Trump down. FOR FOUR FUCKIN YEARS! What about the sponsors of the criminals that burned city after city to the ground all with the democrats full support. Yes your democratic leadership at its best. Communists at their best. How about some investigations of that to see who really pulled the strings? Nope can’t do that. You liberal idiots invented numbskulliosis!!

Anonymous said...

I would be in favor of an investigation if I had any confidence that the truth would come out. I don't believe it will. The party in charge is the same party who pretended for three years that Trump colluded with the Russians. They never had any evidence of this nor did they have a plausible theory of what happened and why.

There is simply no one out there who can beat Guest in a GOP primary.

As the more that 400 clowns who stormed the capitol to stop the legal transfer of power begin pleading their cases two defenses will be used by most. The first is they believed the Lie Trump told that he won. The second will be that they were misled by whacky QAnnon and Internet stories.
It won’t work for them any more than it will work for Trump and his kids, nor should it, when crimes committed and they are going to do time.

It takes a special kind of stupid to think the left would dress up like and act like the right to protest an election they just won.

Anonymous said...

@9:58a- You are a special kind of stupid if you think it’s below those in power to not do everything they can to squash their nemesis, Trump. The goal was not just to win, but to annihilate. Your lack of understanding of the true purpose of groups like BLM, Antifa, Proud Boys, etc. and how they can be manipulated to accomplish things, for both their friends and foes, is obvious. Your government would sacrifice you in a day if it got them what they wanted or made their point.

Not to mention, there’s doubt anything was “won.” Anyone with two brain cells can study the data, the anomalies, the history and players with Dominion, and the ignorance of mass mailing ballots, and realize that it is not roses you’re smelling. But regardless, enjoy having less to spend and paying more for everything. The liberal dream is alive and breathing on a national (and local level.) But hey, no mean tweets, right? Enjoy!!

No one group could be accountable for what happened during the Capitol attack, just as no one group could be accountable for BLM nationwide stupid burnings, looting, so-called peaceful protests. I am not happy with Guest voting for this commission as the FBI has arrested and is investigating peeps involved with it.

I have reviewed various comments here:
Rand Paul, view YouTube videos on his congressional meetings. They are awesome, asking how PPP loans are being paid out, how other STUPID government spending programs are being done. Not the greatest fan of R Paul but wow, he is like Trey Gowdy when questioning some of these people.

This so-called commission will waste millions of tax dollars and Dems will advertise what a great job they are doing while Joe and Kamala are failing US citizens. I feel like we are living in the Twilight Zone where Dems are so keen to stay in power they are promising ethnic groups everything, yet while earning millions in office, they are providing US Citizens with nothing but BS. PPP Loans going to Planned Parenthood, COVID relief grants and loans going to Harvard University, and huge billion dollar organizations. I know 3 white legitimate business owners who are closed and cannot get a PPP loan because they are white owners. If one reads the law and policy, they are qualified and should be granted the loans. Yet, they are denied. I have one business owner in my family that said, "to hell with it," and paid for his own employees for months out of his own pocket, yet his business was closed due to government. He lost tons of money but could not let his people suffer.

I am appalled that Governor Reeves will not allow people to collect COVID relief PUA benefits until Sept 4th. He is what? expecting a business owner who had to shut down or their staff to take up a waiter or waitressing job? How the hell are they going to make ends meet? Reeves makes NO SENSE on this and should take everything the government has to offer for COVID relief. Honestly, this state runs bass akward on some issues. Whether you voted for Trump or not, if the government is GIVING you something, you take it. A person who lost their job due to COVID cannot make it on a couple dollars and tips after making 30K a year. Why deny them more money that does not cost the state anything?

Mississippi needs to have Bi-Partisan Leadership that reflects the year we are currently living in and it's own government is hurting Democrats and Republicans. How many of you are willing to go waitress for a living? Just because some jobs are open does not mean that everyone can make it. They need those government benefits until Sept 4. I think this is the WORST DECISION HE HAS MADE FOR MS.

It is like saying, a hurricane affected you but guess what, we don't want to be scrutinized and you should just deal with it. You CAN'T have government benefits because we don't want to be in the media anymore and noted for people living off them. DAMN!

Love MS, not happy with this Governor or decisions of Guest and I AM A REPUBLICAN!

@ 10:57 certainly proved your point 9:58.

Anonymous said...

10:57 am You really are gullible to believe what you wrote. How'd Antifa find that many white folks with the money to buy all that gear? There past actions haven't been that " populated".

And those of us with reading comprehension scores above average can read Trump's own appointees report and know why it is the voting machines couldn't have been hacked without leaving EVIDENCE behind which even someone as screwy a Giuliani could have uncovered without paying to go to the Ukraine. There are high schoolers who could have found needed " evidence" if it existed. You are so computer illiterate it's scary.

And, Mitch McConnell knows full well the difference between a Commission ( which studies government failures to prevent an act of terrorism) and the criminal process to arrest and convict those who carried out the attack or assassination.

McConnell supported all the past commissions which brought out more facts and indicated weak links in our security or tightened our security.

McConnell is playing to the Q suckers and crazies because he has no choice. He was so intent on stacking the Supreme Court as his " legacy" that he arrogantly thought he could control the inmates of the asylum he let loose. Whether it's self-interest or cowardice is hard to say.

Nevertheless, that in all these years, none of you conspiracy junkies have been smart enough to find evidence to show " probable cause" to a single law enforcement agency, judge or grand jury.

It'd be comical if it wasn't endangering the best system of government the world had seen until some of you started electing con men who told you what you wanted to hear and certifiably crazy people and oh yeah...the sexual perverts Q loves to hate showing up lately aren't proving to be Democrats. How'd you miss that Greenburg and Stone were more than a little strange and that Giuliani has been photographed in " drag" or that your favorite guy took his date to Epstein's house to party?

@12:59p- The fact that you and @9:58a believe that anyone played dress up proves your both sticking your head in the sand.

It’s cool though. Your leftist leaders are totally rocking the world. As your number 2 instructed, “enjoy your long weekend.”

Anonymous said...

@1:15p- Are you even serious with your first paragraph?? Antifa IS mostly white folks, lol. And, ever heard of Soros? Or watched videos literally exposing the coordinated efforts with all the so called "protests." I am not the gullible one here, buddy.

What you are apparently not able to wrap your mind around is that, yes, there were MAGA folks present due to the events of the day. HOWEVER, these folks did not lead or coordinate the event. They were swept up in it. You cannot seriously believe there was an insurrection. It was a staged event to cause chaos and give enough "proof" to set the left on this insurrection blaze. You claim to be so highly intelligent that you MUST be asking why weren't they killing or kidnapping everyone they encountered if they were truly trying to take over the Capital. I mean, seriously?! This has to be the weakest ass "insurrection" in world history, LOL. Go do some research about who put out those "bombs" prior to the "insurrection." Can't find the answer? There's a reason the FBI hasn't released the info... it doesn't support the existing narrative.

I am most definitely not computer illiterate. There are documented issues (of the EXACT nature) with Dominion in previous elections all over the world. The evidence, and it does exists, doesn't lie. If there is such confidence in the vote, the mass mailed-in ballots, and the Dominion machines, why didn't the left DEMAND the recount to prove the results were accurate and shut up the naysayers? Why is the left STILL fighting recount efforts? I know why and so do you!

The thing you do not understand about those you like to designate as "conspiracy crazies" is that we do not support or trust ANY career politicians. The reason both sides worked so hard to get Trump out was because he wasn't part of the political machine.

You are correct in that the bones of our government are the best in the world. But, if you think our current state of government is the best in the world then you are not opening your eyes to what has happened to our government in recent history. The majority of people that have risen to power over the last two decades are slowly our system, not "Q" as you claim.

Good grief, arguing that perversion exists on both sides is one of the many typical fallbacks of the left. When so much perversion has been made common the result is perverted people everywhere. I have never heard said that perverted people are only democrats. However, the ONLY people I hear screaming to allow more perversion in the world are democrats. Also, your Epstein argument proves your research abilities SUCK!! As soon as Trump learned of what Epstein was like (months before Epstein's first plea in FL in 2008), he BANNED him and never spoke to him again... unlike your parties' people that stayed on the Epstein train. And, don't even start on the damn drag, lol, your party will win that contest ALL DAY LONG!

By the way... I am not a Q supporter. I am an intelligent person that does my own research and can see the truth for what it is. I do not blindly trust politicians in power. Actually, I start out distrusting them. They have to earn my trust through their actions, not their empty words.

We don’t need a Commission; we just need the DOJ and the Capitol Police to release the videotapes of that day, videotapes that are being withheld. Then Americans could watch the tapes and make their own decisions.

I had the pleasure of serving with Michael Guest and found him to be a man of honor and integrity and I’m very proud of him for having the guts to have an independent mind. This is the kind of person that the original republicans had in mind when we meet in the phone booth many years ago—yes I am a boomer. The moderate republicans (called RHINOS by our extreme right wing brothers and sisters) are the % needed to control an election same as the moderate democrats. So which ever slide pays attention first will control the future of our great nation. I pray the socialist stay unaware.

Anonymous said...

The thick-headed myopia on this blog is amazing. Courage, independent thinking, blah blah blah. Are you ignoring the fact that 35 Republicans voted for the bill. What that means is the Republican leadership picked out 35 members who they felt were safe in their districts and told them to vote yes so the bill would pass while the rest of the Republicans could pretend to be standing up against those evil Democrats. It's all a scam, on both sides, just like the Capitol "invasion," and you people are the suckers because you think any of this is anything but political theater.

3:03 I've heard of Soros and the Kochs as well. That you or the left imagines they conspire beyond giving money is ludicrous.Indeed, you need to define conspiracies better. It's a conspiracy to go worship at your church by the definition you embrace. A criminal conspiracy ( which election fraud would be is another altogether different. And, you totally seem to think that those doing nefarious deeds that require multitudes of people to keep a secret is rampant and can remain unseen.
And, how did you miss that humans, even those trying hard, screw up and imagine every screw up is for some nefarious purpose? But, few screw ups, are definitive and every administration has had failures.

Unlike Q followers, those who have real jobs and want to spend time with their families in our agencies of government or anywhere else don't have time to do other than their work. And, by the way, it is technically impossible for anyone to be what Q claims to be. Our government is too compartmentalized and those with Q's claimed knowledge don't stay in their positions long enough or have the broad access to information to be Q. It is an intended system structure design to separate access and responsibility.

Yes, I know Antifa has white members ( it stands for anti-fascists by the way, which we all should have enough sense after seeing fascist governments) but they are a misnomer as anarchists often are and their numbers are too small or else they'd have been capable of more. Nor have they ever had a President or anyone in government or out give them a crumbs worth of credibility much less quote their propaganda.

I also have not only 20/20 vision but pause on my television and can tell how many are Antifa and what their skin tone is. Just like I could do on Jan 6th. IF you really want to know if Antifa was involved, you'd be FOR the Commission. But, that'd require you some knowledge of the difference between criminal investigations and Congressional Commissions.
You are not computer literal enough to write programming or algorithms or forensically look at code or you'd KNOW how easy it would have been for Trump ( for the months after his loss while he was still President or Giuliani et.al. to find it in all the recounts and present EVIDENCE to a COURT.
The IRONY is that Trump's appointed Homeland Security ran system checks on all the voting machines long before the election and secured them. You'd know that if you read official government documents from OUR government.

So which SYSTEM of government to you like best? Do some systems of governments with democracies and free elections have fewer problems today. Sure. Most of them are smaller. Many have less diverse population ( see homogeneity). Many of them have a better educated populace and more challenging system of education that doesn't limit knowledge and rewards merit. Many of them have better addressed their infrastructure and spent money more wisely. Many of them did not dilute their laws on slander or regulations that control media. They have better health systems as well.
I don't live in those countries . I live here. I am willing to look at how other countries have gained advantage by examining what they did we failed to do and how. I didn't rely on podcasts or social media or cable tv but on reference books and English translations of their government documents. I've even made it a point to make friends from other countries in my life.

I'm sorry, but anyone who believes the election was illegitimate or fraudulent enough to change the outcome is either gullible , deliberately uneducated/ ignorant of the laws and process that existed, or has a personality or mental disorder or learning disability. And, I am more than a little worried about how few people can recognize the systems of serious mental illness. I can't believe such obviously ill people are holding office these days on both sides of the aisle or have become celebrities.

@1:30p- Ironically, I feel the same way about you and those who believe our government (top to bottom) is fair and just. I am not looking to overturn anything, but if you believe the election yielded an accurate result, we will never see eye to eye. You declaring I’m not literate enough to understand code (which isn’t true) doesn’t make your stance correct. There are PLENTY of forensics to prove that exactly what you said didn’t happen DID happen. If you don’t believe the narrative (including those government docs you like to peruse) that is presented to the people isn’t filtered and skewed, you should definitely add naive to your character list.

Your “laws and process” phrase made me laugh out loud! Seriously, man, come on, SO MANY election “rules” were changed outside of the procedure prior to the 2020 election. Communities ruled by liberal leaders pushed WAY beyond the law in the name of the China virus. And don’t even start with the go-to death and science arguments, because according to the “science,” masks and distancing would have allowed for safe voting for all.

I, too, have family and friends all over the world, and fully understand their governments, societies, and cultures, so your attempt to insinuate that I don’t have a clue failed. The type of governance I prefer is our constitutional federal republic. We do agree apparently agree that our government has effed up everything from education to infrastructure. I’m sick of the government’s haphazard spending. I’m sick of the pork spending and socialist ideas floating around. I’m sick of everyone’s poor choices (because they decided to take the easy road) being someone else’s fault. I’m tired of manipulative politics that use social issues to gain votes. I prefer secure borders with legal immigration, conservative/sane spending, LESS taxation of individuals and businesses, and fellow citizens who WORK for what they have versus the government providing food, shelter, and insurance for those who are content living on the government’s teat.

It’s amusing that you continue to lump me in the Q crowd and assume I spend hours and hours online. You couldn’t be more off base. I work full-time and have a family to care for. I do, however, have the capability to be effective and efficient in my research. The majority of conservatives are actually more like me... not like the small faction known as Q.

The fact that you truly believe Homeland tested every single machine is hilarious!! They, just like all agencies, are only as effective as their weakest link, and there are lazy (and twisted) people working in every single government agency. For decades, our government has “saved face” more than shared the truth. The whole truth rarely benefits anyone politically.

Back to the original topic of the laughable “insurrection” commission. I have already discerned Antifa played a role, so NO, I don’t want or need this commission to know any more than that. The political stances of multiple players present that day prove this was a staged event, not a Trump insurrection. THIS is why I don’t want taxpayer dollars wasted on a stupid commission. Don’t talk out of one side of your mouth about wanting better education and healthcare, and then argue out the other that it makes any kind of damn sense to waste tens/hundreds of millions of dollars studying this garbage... just don’t. The actual truth is that if we had capable, unbiased federal law enforcement, a true investigation would already be completed and the real players would already be in jail.

Michael Guest made an inexcusable vote on this issue. I consider it to be disqualifying for the office he now holds. If he wanted to vote that way, were he the representative the 2nd MS Congressional district, that would go along with his constituents' wishes. Unfortunately, I suspect a vast majority of Guest's current constituents are in complete opposition to this vote.

I had great hopes for Guest, especially since he was elected to follow a wasted set of terms by the former representative for our district; however, this most recent vote shows me a concerning lack of judgement and will cause me to place my vote with any reasonable candidate who may run against him in the primary. It's damn high time we held our Republican elected officials' feet to the fire. It's time we play to WIN, just like the democrats do. The dems don't mess around. They've taken on Antar's position of "by any means necessary." It's time the Republicans make that change.......unless they prefer losing over getting dirty.

Who can challenge Michael Guest in 2022? Has he accomplished anything in DC besides reading that MSU went to Omaha and FBCJ put on the 50th Carols by Candlelight?

Baron Von Falkenheim said...

Why is this position so hard to understand: Fine, investigate January 6th. BUT also investigate the other attacks on federal buildings and the folks within them that happend for almost a year preceeding the January 6th event. Are the folks who work in and have to use those federal buidlings any less important than members of Congress at the Capitol? Is their safety not a concern as well? Not only do federal employees work in those buildings, but thousands of average citizens have to access those buildings every day to interface with governmet agencies (not just the courts). So, investigate, but make it comprehensive. Republicans should have first insisted on a more comprehensive look at this, rather than just focusing on January 6th. Even McConnell didn't agree to this as proposed.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
