Selling alcohol to minors is the world's second oldest profession. Nothing to see here.....move along, move along.

This just in....water is wet

Why have a bar if you are not going to sell to your best customer?

My hyper-sensitive cultural empathy is triggered by the following establishment names:

- Casa Bravo
- Gringo's
- La Terraza
- No Way Jose

Fellow Social Justice Warriors, let's kneel at the next (in)appropriate opportunity, destroy hard working taxpayers' property, and march on these cities to expose the cultural appropriation, and ethnic and racial insensitivity that is demonstrated by use (appropriation) of these names!

Justice Now, or something!

Meth and steroids are the biggest problems in Starkville.

A drinking 20 year old is not much of a threat to society but is an easy target for government that can’t fix much else.

So....an 18 year old can vote for the most powerful person in the world but can't have a beer? Also, Uncle Sam will gladly take that same 18yo and put them on the battlefield where they put their life on the line...and they can't have a beer? WHAT A RIDICULOUS JOKE.

Hey MulletHead....your time would be better spent reviewing MS Doctors opioid/pain prescriptions and keeping a tally. They are dong much more harm to the youth than the establishments in college towns.

There must be a mistake. You can't buy alcohol if you are not 21 in Mississippi.

And it's a damned good thing the ABC doesn't show up at tailgate functions on game day. SHEEEEE-IT! Hell, half the troopers and a quarter of the politicians are already within fifty yards of these events. So, the posse is already on hand!

First thing you know these kids will be walking along major thoroughfares in Oxford, Starkville, Hattiesburg, Cleveland and Jackson, holding Red Solo Cups, on game day.

Easy for the government swat teams etc to play big man at collect bars while doctors continue to legally prescribe narcotics to housewives creating a generation of addicts.

DUI death.. tell that to the next victim.

Next OD death... Don’t forget to tell that mom and dad that our AG is publicizing his “crack down” on underage drinking. Not to trivialize DUI deaths in any way but I don’t recall an Alcohol Epidemic being declared recently or any 60 Minute specials on it.

Anonymous said...

AG is doing nothing more than grandstanding and justifying his budget. Why doesn’t he go after fat cat doctors or clinics overprescribing pills and publically announce the arrests from those sweeps? Answer: the same reason those doctors overprescribe them.…money

Whole thing is a farce. Drinking age should go back to 18. We didn't have binge drinking problems when it was as we do now. Just one more example of how politicians are intimidated by the MADD lobby. Yeah, drunk driving and drunk driving deaths fell for that age group. Guess what? They will always be highest for the first few years after it is legal to drink, regardless of age.

It is my hypothesis that the infantalization of our young adults began with raising the drinking age to 21. 21 became the new 18. Then 26. Now it seems to be 30 when one is finally considered to be an adult. Go back to 18 for everything.

Jim Hood is a cartoon, and a very weak little man. It really does seem that he wants to be some kind of social worker, and not a law enforcement officer. There's so much corruption right under his nose within the Executive Branch that he's almost appearing to be complicit in its execution as the lead diversion for folks not looking into what's happening with the people's money. Pickering sounds like he wants to do something, but is merely going after small change so as not to rock the boat TOO much. Hopefully Mike Hurst will bring the wood to some really corrupt old men ruining Mississippi.

How about AG and the storm troopers hang out at Walgreens and bust all the mom's buying their little helpers and bust the docs that are creating so many adicts.

Can't blame a 20 year old for wanting a beer after reading about all of the world's ills.

Amen Kingfish. My left-wing 38 year old stepson still doesn't work. He has a trust fund and wants higher tax rates for the rest of us. He is lazy and entitled. Typical liberal.

These raid are garbage. Most of people he Tim they use kids who are already in trouble for somthing else, to walk in and attempt a purchase. Not exactly the most reliable crowd. I once had them write me a ticket for serving a minor. The ere pretty confident too, until I showed up in court with video of their minor stealing drinks from another table.... Case Dismissed!

I need a drank.

What does “he Tim” mean? I’m confrused????

Guess what Hattiesburg??? Next home game Conway Twitty will be in town checking IDs.

Prohibition still exists for 18-21 year old voting adult American citizens.

Glad Mullet wasn't AG when I was in college.

Uncle Tom said...

This looks racist to me. They only checks bars and such in towns with predominately white students. What about JSU, ASU, and MVSU?

Anonymous said...

I used to be the owner of one of these fine establishments. Glad to see the crowd hasn't changed. The Gestapo come in guns out, write the little rich kids a $250 ticket, daddy pays, life goes on as usual.

Wait. There is an Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement division in the AG's Office? We've doubled up on the most useless entity in State government, ABC? ABC should have been dissolved decades ago. They ceased to have a purpose right around the time the Jackson Country Club was raided. In addition to their continued useless existence, there is a redundant group in the AG's Office? Hopefully, its only one useless group, and not two. Whichever, they need to be shut down and go get real jobs and do real things. Like the Game Wardens, who protect us from those evil fishermen and hunters.

I miss drive-thru barns.

I'm confused too. So, to recap: A 19 year old student walks around campus for five hours with a cup of beer and gets it refilled every 26 minutes. Then, after the game, he wants another one and purchases it at the quick stop or at Muldoon's Tavern and gets busted for it by the same cop who was pulling guard-duty on campus earlier in the day.

All you negative Nelly’s on here...

Hint; it’s your miserable wives who get these pills which wind up in your kids mouths.

Throw the pills out of your cabinets and then come back to bitch about enforcement of laws.

Oh....and it’s you dumbasses who hate lawyers who try to hold Rx manufacturers accountable.

Forget what I said.....don’t throw the pills out....take em....all of them.

Proof positive that State, Delta State, and other Mississippi universities are always trying to copy Ole Miss, the flagship university of our great state.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
