Has Jason Hulsman's luck finally run out?
On September 8, 2024, at 9:01 pm, Flowood Police Officers responded to the Gardens of Manship in response to a 911 call about gunshots. Officers arrived and found shell casings in the road, a wooden fence with multiple holes and 1 residence that had been struck by a bullet. After a thorough investigation, the suspect was identified as Jason Hulsman and has been arrested by Flowood PD detectives. He was charged with 1 count of Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling and during his initial appearance in Flowood Municipal Court his bond was set at $75,000.
A Rankin County grand jury indicted Hulsman for attempted shooting into an occupied dwelling in April 2024 but the sentencing gods smiled on Hulsman. The defendant pleaded guilty to the indictment in August 2025. Rankin County Circuit Judge Bradley Mills sentenced Hulsman to serve ten years in prison but suspended all ten years of the sentence. However, Hulsman could not help himself.
Reservoir police charged him with a first DUI on December 23 after he registered a 0.23 on the Intoxilyzer at 8 AM. Hulsman went to jail where he has remained ever since.
One may ask why Hulsman is still living at the Rankin County Detention Center. Well, Mr. Hulsman was ticketed for violating a no-wake zone. He pled guilty to the charge and had to pay $252.75. Hulsman never paid the fine so a bench warrant was issued for him in October. The warrant was outstanding when Reservoir Police arrested him for the DUI.
Unfortunately for Hulsman, his troubles are not over as MDOC filed a petition to revoke his probation on January 8. Circuit Judge Bradley Mills issued a warrant for his arrest. He will hold a revocation hearing on Mardi Gras. However, Judge Mills ordered him released on February 2 because the hearing for the revocation petition was not. held within thirty days of the December 23 arrest.
What is curious is the jail docket listed other charges against Hulsman: impersonating an officer and providing false information to law enforcement.
JJ filed a public records request for the police reports and what do you know, Hulsman allegedly tried to pass himself off as an Edwards reserve police officer. Check out the police report:
Hulsman's trial for the May 2025 charges is scheduled for March 9 in Rankin County Justice Court. However, the request for police reports turned up another little gem.
Stay tuned.

He was arrested at his trailer park
This POS can rot in prison with the antisemite arsonist
I don’t think the fat redneck is bad just stupidv
He’s cooked. Pray the jailhouse bros don’t find out about his pretend cop shenanigans. Ol’ Wannabe Hulsman has had his antics and alcoholism catch up to him. Hope this wakes him up and he straightens himself out.
What progressive criminal justice reformers fail to acknowledge is that anti-social behavior escalates.
People exhibiting anti-social behavior don't normally stop and think "You know what, you're right. I'll change my ways." Rather, they begin to see themselves as above the law, and their behavior escalates.
A happy inmate makes for a happy prison.
I feel sorry for those kids. They deserve far better parenting than what they appear to be getting.
Teh stoopid. It burns.
Andrew Grant is probably smiling. He didn't have to serve one day in MDOC's custody after he violated his probation when he plead guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery in November of 2022.
I would like to pass a law that says "anyone who is caught smiling and looking happy in their mugshot gets an additional 30 years added to their sentence".
Daddy's money has always gotten him out of whatever crap he could get himself into. He still lives like he's in his early 20s because he's been allowed to. Maybe not this time.
