Assistant JPD Chief Vincent Grizzell is being forced out and is not too happy about it. WLBT reported:
After more than 32 years of service, the second-in-command of the Jackson Police Department said he’s being forced out, citing unnamed political reasons. Jackson Assistant Police Chief Vincent Grizzell confirmed to WLBT on Wednesday that he was stepping down, and that his last day would be on February 9. Had he chosen not to retire, Grizzell says he would have been demoted to the rank of lieutenant, his highest civil service-tested rank. “It’s a sad day because I can’t serve and protect the people of this city anymore,” he said. Grizzell believes he was being demoted for political reasons, despite having a clean record and uninterrupted years of service. He did not, however, elaborate on specifics related to the demotion. Police Chief Tyree Jones declined to comment, saying it was a personnel matter. However, he said that as of now, Grizzell is assistant chief. Article.
Kingfish note: Good move by the Horhn administration. Grizzell was a known Lumumba stooge. While he complains about his demotion, he seems to forget his bunch did the same thing to Sheriff/JPD Tyree Jones when Lumumba ran Chief Lee Vance out of JPD. Yup. Jones, White, McGowan were almost immediately demoted and replaced with the likes of Grizzell and Robinson.

Good riddance. You had long enough. Go complain to someone that cares
I’m glad he’s going.
Lumumba=bad juju.

Big part of your problem right here. These people talk like uneducated fools plus they arent even qualified/certified for the jobs they are politically promoted into.
Sucks to suck.
I don't want to jinx it, but there hasn't been a homicide in Jackson in two weeks.
Is he related to the City Council president?
Can he take Pudgy with him?
So, despite all his hollow talk about wanting to serve and protect, he jams the exit. Maybe Rukia needs some help passing out bottled water.
It's called reaping what you sow. He needs to take his brother with him!
Thanks for the commentary KF.. very helpful to those of us who did not know!
