Well, well, well, John Caldwell is tired of the bullshit and will not run for re-election as Northern Mississippi Transportation Commissioner. The Commish announced on his podcast:
When it's time, you'll know. Well, I know it's time. I have a little over a year left on the second of two consecutive terms as your transportation commissioner. It's been a great tour of duty, but it's coming to a close. It has been an and is an honor and a privilege to serve the people of the great state of Mississippi and especially the northern 33 counties. It's been a special honor to serve with Commissioners King, Busby, and Simmons. Hopefully, we'll get more done in the final months and the year ahead as we continue the good work that's been started. So, thank you.....
If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong. Well, I'm still having fun, but it's still time to pass the torch. So, thanks for the opportunity. Thanks for helping get more done, and thanks for a good final year that we're expecting to have in 2027. So, thanks again. Good luck to whoever steps out and puts their name in the hat to step into this wonderful position.
The ever-mercurial Commissioner was prone to outbursts and tantrums at Commissioner meetings lately. He repeatedly screamed "bullshit" and "shut up" at the other Commissioners and Executive Director Brad White at the most recent meeting.
Kingfish note: So did the Commissioner get tired of his own bullshit?
