Two students died from drug overdose at Ole Miss. The university issued the following statement on Facebook:
Oxford police and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics are investigating. This email is floating around campus:
Apparently, the drug causing the overdoses is cychlorphine, and it doesn’t show up on fentanyl test strips. Spread this to your chapters and tell them that nothing is safe. I’m working with the office to get a message out.
Because it is invisible to common harm-reduction testing tools, emergency personnel and health agencies emphasize that if an overdose occurs, naloxone (Narcan) must still be administered immediately. However, due to cychlorphine's extreme potency, multiple consecutive doses of naloxone are frequently required to restore breathing - if something happens, make sure your guys know how to save a life

One of those documents said Narcan available in vending machines. Good grief, what a situation. I guess clean needles are there too. So much for using vending machines for chips, drinks, and sweets.
Seeing reports about finding Kratom at the scene. Such a shame that young people are reaching for this crap, especially when they have no idea what's really in it or what it can do to them.
Life is so insanely beautiful. There is much to explore and read about and so much great music. History is seemingly endless and there is natural beauty in almost every inch of America to enjoy. So why in the world are our boys wanting to destroy their mental health and brains with drugs at all? There is plenty of joy and fun in being sober to actually experience everything. I can get behind drinking with friends, but these drugs are depressing to even think about. Teach your kids to be happy in the “mundane” and always be grateful for the little things in life. This is so sad. It’s a glimpse into the way our society is going. I can’t help but think the phones and social media-fication of everything is doing a ton of damage.
