Chiefs or Eagles?

The Big Game, make that the Super Bowl, is today. It is a rematch from two years ago as the Eagles try to upend the Chiefs.  Las Vegas favors the Chiefs by 1.5 points.  However, we can't go by Vegas when analyzing this game but approach it from an environmentalist perspective.

Friends, let's first start with the Chiefs while ignoring the cultural appropriation of the name by the NFL.  Who were the Chiefs?  Hmmm.... the Chief was the leader of the Indian tribe.  Ah, Indians.  Native Americans, the indigenous peoples of North America.  They lived in harmony with nature, killing only what they needed.  The Buffalo flourished across the plain.  The Spotted Owl was in no danger from logging.  The environment was pristine and beautiful under Indian tenure until the Colonizers came to America.

So we should favor the Chiefs, right? Well, on the other hand, we have the Eagles.  The eagle is a majestic creature, soaring in complete freedom though the sky.

This is a tough one.  Nature v. nature.  Well, the reason you come to this site is because we dig a little deeper than the rest of the media.   While the Chief represents his people, who does the Eagle represent.  Ah, it is the symbol for the United States of America.

What do we know about the USA? It was created to protect slavery in 1619.  It is racist, sexist, misogynist, and homophobic.  It hates trans people.  It trashes the environment and causes global warming.  It elected Donald Trump as president.  The USA colonized America and committed genocide against the Indians.  That is represented by the eagle.

So, my friends, what appeared to be a tough choice is actually quite an easy one to make.  Take the Chiefs with the points.

We're doing the Rush Limbaugh analysis now?

Tay Tay sez Chiefs by 9.

I haven't watched the NFL in any way for seven years. I have missed nothing and I have gained knowledge and pleasure over this time. As for missing Super Bowl parties, my blood sugar will be much lower for passing on the chips, dips and beer.

I'll pass on watching the concussions.

I'll doge all the stupid ads.

I definitely have the Chiefs, and the refs, over the Eagles.

When they started kneeling - and black balled Tebow for the same thing - they spit in our faces. Never watched since. Bread and circuses for fools.

Kansas City 34, Philly 31. Butker kicks the game winning FG and the woke crowd weeps.

What the hell is an 'environmental perspective'? It ain't like it might snow. or one team or the other might prevail based on the number of homie-hoodlums in the streets.

2:15, and yet you still troll the internet and post about not caring. Uh huh.

When the players started kneeling I stoped watching. Haven’t seen a nfl game in years and I don’t miss it. I still watch college football

When players showed disrespect for the national anthem I stoped watching. Havnt seen any nfl games in years

That was the WORST halftime show EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Uh, ain't been watching but hear that the rap halftime show is on. But along with that, heard something about the first half, so - as an educated better, I'm taking the Eagles.

Never bet against the USA

Eagles giving a big time Rammer Jammer to the chiefs.

Eagles 34 Chiefs 6

I think I'll take the Eagles. Hell, if its so offensive that the offensive POTUS walks out, it must have been a pretty bad game.

KC thought going in that they had it in the bag. Yea, well, not so much. They all played like a bunch of rookies.

Anonymous said...

Will they ever have a decent halftime show at the Super Bowl? It really sucks!

Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles for a DOMINATING win over the Chiefs! The payback was epic! The Eagles made the Chiefs look foolish for even daring to think that a “three-peat” was possible. I wonder if Trump will extend Philly another invitation to the WH so they can snub him again?

Mohomes needing the concussion exam after that sack the first series could have decided the game.

The KC Thiefs rolled over.....they knew they weren't supposed to be there after watching the last several game tapes and all those bad calls.

Bad game. Great venue. New Orleans hosted and did a wonderful job. It was a boon Fri the city now bring on Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest and FQF.

All these old codgers virtue signaling talking about how they quit watching. Yet they keep posting. Just move on. BTW, 2024 NFL viewership is up 20% over 2019.

Anonymous said...

I thinking the Eagles gonna blow them out.

Tebow wasn’t black balled for kneeling, that was Colin Kaepernick who kneeled and lost his job in the nfl.

Tommy Tuberville looked lost out there, why didn’t he change the Kansas City protection schemes. He didn’t make a single adjustment, despite getting beat down all game. He may be as bad a football coach as he is a senator. Just a loser all the way through to his bones.

He’s the most popular artist in the world right now. Just because you didn’t get it, doesn’t mean it sucked. Next year, we will make sure the NFL checks with you before picking someone. I’m sure Kid Rock is free.

The Kansas City Chefs got barbecued and I was hoping for a "costume failure" in the halftime "performance" yet no, not even a nipples worth of TALENT was shown.

The President was rooting for the Chiefs and left early.
The "let's play nice children" commercials didn't seem to take.

Philadelphia is where our country was founded and we displaced all the Indian chiefs along with their tribes when Andrew Jackson helped moved the most all the eastern tribes to the other side of the Mississippi.

FOX sold lots more short commercials which made them more money but also made being touching or funny or even knowing why the product was best for the consumer, harder. Jeep and Hellman's beat out our favorite Clydesdales that suffer from being sweet but short suffered . I guess the politicizing of Bud Light gave them less money to spend. I guess selling more short ads gave FOX the money to promote their Saints ads so many times.
And, we know the Eagles will try to get Brady to every game even if he's has to be brought in on a stretcher.

Watched about 30 seconds of the halftime "show" & cut it off for good

Anonymous said...

Who needs the superbowl to watch a show like that? M-Bar has that every night.

Anonymous said...

DEI. Every commercial. Every performance.

Anonymous said...

If you watched any of the half time show and then complained, well that's on you. Half time show is always awful. Its only for the wives, and for old men who like to gripe. PS, New Orleans did a stellar job.

Anonymous said...

The reason President Trump left early is that the Secret Service wanted to avoid the rush of the big crowd leaving @ the end of the game. Good security practice.

The NFL makes so much money they don't mind turning their halftime shows over to the forgettable fad of "hip hop" to satisfy viewers who are the age of the players or younger. However they would retain even more viewers if they would fill that short time with artists who perform their classic popular music that everyone would enjoy. They have in the past and it was good. Or are all the greats too old or dead?

And enough of Snoop already!

Anonymous said...

I enjoyed it, but I’m not a 90 year old who complains for a living. What didn’t you like about it? Too many black people?

Anonymous said...

And it ends in MAGA tears. Dumb Donald was so upset, he started trashing Taylor Swift to make himself feel better. What a bunch of pathetic snowflakes.

Anonymous said...

Did you also cry whine when the Dixie Chicks got cancelled by the right wing because they protested George W’s war in Iraq? Don’t answer that,

Anonymous said...

Thanks for letting us know. You seem to still be complaining all these years later. I guess your protest didn’t work. Your choices are to shut up and move on or keep being a whiny cry baby. Looks like you choose the latter, good luck with that.

Breaking News - another white Christian retiree doesn’t like hip hop. He swears he isn’t racist, he just doesn’t like the sound of “blacks”. He also claims to know how to increase viewership for the league by appealing to other racist old whites like himself.

Breaking News for 3:28 - If you are referring to me at 12:40, I happen to be Black. I am a senior citizen though and still hold out hope for an Earth Wind and Fire halftime before it's too late. Sorry.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
