Or pitch instead of bitch - as in pitching in to help.
Some people are so dumb that few things make sense to them. Exhibit A: Tariq Abdul-Tawwab Skyhook and his crew. They were last seen whining about the improvements at Parham Bridges Park on their "Make It Make Sense" Facebook page.
This was the Facebook post that drew their ire.
Yes, they are bitching about the repair of the bathrooms. You can't make this up. Of course, if they had fixed the playground equipment instead of the bathrooms, they would have griped about it as well.
The Lefleur East Foundation is making improvements to the park. The Foundation has been quite busy in fixing up the park over the last two years but some people can't be pleased. Yes, the playground is on the Foundation's list of projects.
The Foundation paid for the installation of a gate to the tennis center and closure of the Old Canton Road entrance after a murder took place. One assumes Skyhook and crew are against murder but one never knows these days. People aren't going to the park if they fear getting shot, after all. The garden club donated the funds for the recent landscaping that took place along the fence.
The Foundation recently installed an iron fence along Ridgewood and Old Canton roads to protect park users and well, keep the um, residentially challenged and druggies from taking over the park as they have done at other parks in Jackson.
The creek is in sore need of repair as the banks are collapsing. The legislature appropriated $750,000 this year for the project. Work will start later this year. Next up on the list will be the construction of a bridge across the creek to better connect the playground to the rest of the park.
The playground will be addressed within a year. The Foundation is a private organization. Except for the legislature's appropriation, the Foundation is raising private funds to pay for improvements. Of course, these clowns who contribute nothing reserve the right to complain. Of course, these people are so dumb that someone probably does have to make the Parham Bridges project make sense to them.
Make it make sense indeed.
Kingfish note: What I am about to write is going to make some people mad but frankly, I don't care. The playground was built in 2000 after two Northeast Jackson women raised $230,000 to fund a playground so their children could have a place to play.

Northeast Jackson was predominantly white 26 years ago. It was the white population and business community who paid for the playground. However, the demographics changed and the area is now predominantly black. The playground is enjoyed by all as it is common to hear the laughter of children at play or see birthday parties in full swing.
However, if Skyhook, Socrates, and Marcus want more improvements, perhaps should raise money instead of relying on the white man to pay for everything. Only in Jackson would an effort to spend raise millions of dollars to improve a park while the others fall apart draw criticism.
If the black community wants the playground fixed, perhaps it should stop bitching and start pitching in to help as two mothers did nearly 30 years ago. However, these people don't care about improving Parham Bridges Park as much as they care about griping about the white folks and that folks, is the bottom line.

Prohibit the family reunion bbq's on the weekends.
What they really want to say is they don’t use the park, never will, and just want to keep pushing their narrative no matter what happens.
As with most of Jackson, the demographics changed, and the incoming demographic didn't keep up property the same way that the departing demographic did. It's as simple as that.
White people should have to pay for the park upgrades and white people should have to pay to fix Jackson’s problems!
It’s an iq issue.
The right to bitch is more important these days. Protect that at all costs even if it means kids not having playground equipment. The dream today is grounds to bitch, grift and roam free.
The equipment is 30 years old. Pretty good shape considering. Hopefully, they will keep the swings. Sad to see playgrounds removing swings. Can't have any risks at all.
what has Skyhook and the others done for Jackson? I'd like to see one thing.
Preach KF!!! Folks too worried about their glaucoma medication to help build a park. Ain't nobody got time for that! Just complain till the government gives out more free shit. Welfare killed the black community decades ago.
As I recall, a certain witness in the airport case said--from the witness stand--that the first thing he focused on was improving the women's restroom.
I thought it was rich last week given the central tenant of the airport case is a claim of discrimination, but c'est la vie.
There's a hidden lesson in this: make a place too "family-friendly", and you see what happens. Madison's building of all those ball-playing facilities, always did look suicidal, to me. The trajectory of this playground, and the surrounding neighborhood, should offer a glimpse into the future, for any community offering too many of the wrong amenities.
It's hard work to raise funds, even if you are asking from the right circles. The whiners wouldn't know what hard work is if it hit them in the face.
Not surprised at the racist comments approved by Jimmy. The difference today is these people are renters, typically on Section 8 housing vouchers. They don’t have the disposable income of the older white boomer tenants who had generational wealth ancquired by first enslaving, then segregating and disenfranchising blacks for centuries. But yall keep up that ignorant ass, pathetic white male racism going. It won’t make your peckers any bigger though.
not racist at all. Never underestimate your ability to make excuses. If everything you say is true, which it isn't, then these people should still shut the hell up. If they want to make changes, then pay to play. It's that simple.
You mean everyone should actually do something instead of complaining? I couldn't agree more, and it should start with some of the commenters here who complain about everything.
"They don’t have the disposable income of the older white boomer tenants who had generational wealth ancquired by first enslaving, then segregating and disenfranchising blacks for centuries."
Where's my generational wealth, built over centuries?
In the U.S., I guess that might apply to the descendants of plantation owners, assuming they didn't lose it all in the Civil War.
You do know that white folks in the U.S. went to war with each other to abolish slavery, don't you?
Thank you Kingfish!!
SEE. Even back then the city wasn't building squat . Two concerned citizens had to !!
The crowd I see using the trail is pretty diverse. I am sure they appreciate all the recent improvements. This cabal of malcontents does not represent the majority of Jackson residents.
I remember when that new playground was installed. We lived in Belhaven and also had to raise money to replace all the equipment in Laurel St. Park which was installed by volunteers.
The Skyhook Make It Make Sense statement represents no one but the writer himself no more than KF's statement represents
" the white community". There are whiners and malcontents of all stripes but it seems that any nut with a stupid racial axe to grind gets labeled a "black leader". Who is he anyway?
move on.
Republishing their bait is exactly the attention they seek. Probably better to just focus on the good work Lefleur's East is doing to secure a vital community asset for all constituents.
I wonder if Skyhook lives in South or West Jackson.
Tariq Abdul-Tawwab lives in an affluent, gated, majority White neighborhood, in Flowood.
There’s a tire swing at the park for you, 11:18.
35 + years ago, I loved to ride my bike through Parham Bridges with my son sitting on my baseball mitt over the crossbar in front of me. Still recall the bratta-bratta-bratta across the slatted bridge.
The post is perfectly sensible. They merely want the playground to have safe equipment, as opposed to slides with holes in them and an accident waiting to happen. That’s a pretty damn reasonable request.
You take that post and you make it into some big race-baiting event, even though the post itself doesn’t mention race. You are the one artificially injecting race into this, and it’s disgusting, Kingfish. Do better.

Happy 250th and 4th of July, whence began your Liberty and mine.
Agreed, 12:13! I, personally, do not know of even one family still in Mississippi, who trace their current wealth to before the Civil War.
First, there was the war. Then, there was Reconstruction. Then, there was the Boll Weevil, and the concurrent harvesting of Mississippi boys, for actions in Central America (benefitting the East Coast Robber Barons, but leaving a generation of Mississippi men dead, or disabled by chronic tropical illnesses: thus creating another generation of IMPOVERISHED widows and old maids).
Also concurrent with, and outlasting, the Boll Weevil, there was a series of Cotton Panics/bank panics, culminating in the Cotton Panic of 1925. Construction of homes, in Belhaven, stopped abruptly, in '25. Inception of skyscraper creation, in Downtown Jackson, halted, too. Newly-built Delta State's library stopped ordering nonessential books. Someone showed me his Keuffel & Esser drafting tool set, from the original 1925 inventory, which had sat on the shelves of Delta State's bookstore, until he bought it, in the early seventies. That's how poor people were, and how long the were poor.
Of course, cousins of the wealthy families, who'd escaped to New York, or Phoenix, or the California Coast, continued prospering - until 1929, when the Great Depression began. After that, there were no more tax bailouts, from the cousins in the rich places.
In Mississippi, even the prudent and parsimonious, ended-up losing their land. They couldn't pay the taxes. Even the 'Grant Girls', nieces of Ulysses - even having benefited from the protection of New York's Seligman banking family (like most of Grant's Port-Gibson-area kin), went from buying carriage-loads of dresses, on shopping trips to tomato-rich Crystal Springs, to DYING OF PELLAGRA, IN THE POORHOUSE.
Everybody, eventually, lost everything.
I compete for land, with two loosely-allied Delta families. Both are Norman English, and both were, into the Twentieth Century, members of the 'Ballroom-on-top Class' (see Judah Benjamin's 'Belle Chasse', Rolling Fork's 'Mont Helena', and 'The Ruins of Windsor') (see the Grey Gardens spoof, 'Sandy Passage', for a realistic view of the ballrooms' eventual use). Each of those ultra-Grandee families had MULTIPLE homes-with-ballrooms.
Then, everything in the above paragraphs, and more, happened to those families. They lost EVERYTHING. The Delta Patriarch of one, began adulthood, penniless - walking down the road, begging for work. The Patriarch of the other, reached a point where there was only one cup of kerosene, to drive his dying child to Greenville, to a doctor he couldn't pay. Their first "big break", came when an escaped sow returned with piglets. That's how poor...
Both families worked through decades of back-breaking labor, deprivation, and financial desperation. They're back-on-top, by Deep South standards, but it had nothing to do with "generational wealth". And all of them, and all of their peers, still work - from before sunrise, until after sunset.
3:21, read it again more carefully; the post is all about race without mentioning race. Read it for what it says, not what your ideology wants it to say.
You see I bet if you didn't replace that old metal slide with that plastic crap slide it would still be in good condition.
