JPD issued the following statement.
On Thursday, June 18, 2026 following an extensive investigation by the Jackson Police Department into thefts that occurred at the City of Jackson Impound Lot on June 1, 2026, at 4225 Michael Avalon Street, JPD Investigations Unit Detectives in collaboration with ATF, Marshal Service, Capitol Police and MBN, served a Search Warrants at a residence in the 500 block of Bounds Road. Arrested were; 47-year-old w/m Marshall Fox, 25-year-old w/m Johnathan Brooks and 40-year-old w/m Gary Burnside. Marshall Fox was arrested on a MDOC Warrant. Johnathan Fox was arrested on Warrant for Probation Violations with HCSO. Gary Burnside was charged with Business Burglary of the City of Jackson Impound Lot. Gary Burnside appeared in Municipal Court yesterday, June 22, 2026 and received a $500K bond with an MDOC hold.Kingfish note: Burnside is a member of the Simon City Royals. He was indicted in March for receiving stolen property. How dangerous is Burnside? JPD sent not one but two SWAT teams to arrest Burnside. Fortunately, he was taken without incident as he and other men in the house were heavily armed.
Marshall Fox pleaded guilty in April 2025 for failure to register as a sex offender. Judge Faye Peterson sentenced him to serve five years in prison with credit for time served. So why is he on the street again?
Fox pleaded guilty to felon in possession of a firearm in 2024. Judge Adrienne Wooten sentenced him to serve two years in prison but suspended the sentence.

Wow, you would think the City of Jackson impound lot would be a secure place.
Has anyone ever looked at the people working at the impound lot? You can buy any part you want from them.
Anyone else disgusted that the JPD put an extreme effort into solving this crime because they are the victims but regular folk are ignored?
Neck tatts! Neck tatts!
