Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
During a court hearing this week it was decided and ordered that William Kobe Mack would be tried as an adult in the Rankin County Circuit Court for his actions earlier this month.
William Mack is the same individual who was captured after escaping from the Rankin County Juvenile Detention Facility in Pelahatchie. As deputies closed in during that manhunt, William Mack stole a vehicle and led deputies on a high-speed chase before being captured.
Currently, William Mack is facing felony charges of Motor Vehicle Theft, Fleeing, Grand Larceny, Escape, and Malicious Mischief.
After being transferred to the Rankin County Adult Detention Center, William Mack’s bond was set at $340,000 based upon this prior criminal actions.
Kingfish note: Due to the suspect's juvenile status, this post will be removed if the charges are dropped or if he is acquitted.

Wow, he is only 14. He's not a mass murderer.
KF, sound policy. But in MS, if you are certified as an adult to stand trial but are acquitted, do you stay a legal adult or do you become a legal juvenile again? I think in most cases it doesn't matter, because the accused will often reach their 18th birthday before the case is resolved.
Will never go to trial, just playing a game to force him into some plea agreement most likely.
