Mississippi's annual PGA tournament is no more. The PGA issued the 2026 fall schedule today.
Sanderson Farms stopped sponsoring the tournament after 2025. The tournament was unable to find a new title sponsor.
All good things come to an end. It's a shame to see this one join Crechales on the dustbin of history.

Ound to happen after the sale of Sanderson Farms to yankees.
It’s certainly sad, but we have to remember we are a small town in a small state, so be glad we had it in the first place. It was always a fun event.
Had a great run. From Hattiesburg to Annandale to JCC. Went to many at each and saw some great golf….my favorite being Davis Love 3 in Hattiesburg in 1980s.
Larger Companies and Private Equity keep swallowing up Mississippi corporations and we just don't have many left headquartered here. It could have been the HORNE championship, but they were just bought by BDO. Cspire is the only other Jackson metro option really or Cal-Maine. It's hard to beg for a sponsorship at an already small tournament.
This was a poorly run event. Nobody cares.
It lasted 12 years longer than anybody thought it would. But the Krystal Fine Dining Spot at the corner of Old Canton and County Line made a killing for years, even though unruly customers with alligators on their golf shirts made off with all the grape jelly.
I felt sure Cspire would pick it up. Especially after seeing a number of SEC football coaches wearing Cspire headsets.
