Why is it troopers can't seem to stay out of trouble? The Save JXN dude posted this little story on his social media accounts over the weekend:
This is one of the wildest law enforcement stories I have ever heard! I’m working on confirming the details, but enough of this has been confirmed that I’m comfortable positing: In Brandon, Mississippi, a Mississippi State Highway Patrol Trooper who’s on executive detail (allegedly) walks in on his wife and another guy doing bad things; he then allegedly beats his wife while holding the other guy at gunpoint. The other guy then gets away by stealing the trooper’s unmarked cruiser
Well, JJ did some digging and can report some more information. The trooper in question was Jamel Green. He and his wife are getting a divorce. He visited her residence on the night in question and found out the hard way another man was the object of her affection. Things got squirrelly as stated above. The boyfriend did not steal the cruiser. Green had (allegedly) blocked in his vehicle in the driveway. The engine was still running so he backed the cruiser out of the driveway and drove it a short distance down the street.
The Rankin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case. Some are wondering why no one was arrested. RCSO said neither the wife nor the boyfriend filed a criminal complaint against Green. The newly-created Internal Affairs Unit at the Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident as well but that is not a criminal investigation.
Green is not assigned to the executive detail. He merely works the front gate at the Governor's Mansion. He does not drive anyone anywhere nor is he part of an entourage.
Some on social media claimed the "boyfriend" was "friends" with the DPS Commissioner and called him from the scene but Commissioner Tindal said he does not know him. The "victim" never called him and he "has the records to back it up." He said he told MBI to let the Rankin County Sheriff's Office handle the case since it involved a state trooper.
Green is currently on administrative paid leave.
Kingfish note: In the absence of video or either "victim" filing a criminal complaint, it is difficult to see how law enforcement can prosecute the case.
On a further note, Ivana Williams took strong issue with something reported earlier on JJ. JJ reported on February 14:
The former trooper already has filed an appeal with the Board over an earlier action. Command transferred the trooper from Troop C (Rankin County area) to Troop D (Bolivar County) on January 2, 2024. Despite the transfer, the trooper managed to make the Governor's Inaugural Ball the next evening.
Law enforcement sources said Ms. Williams was at the ball. If such was not the case, JJ will be more than happy to make the correction if notified of the error by Ms. Williams or her lawyer.

You may want to ask Tindell if he knows the person who "moved" the trooper car from his time working at the court of appeals. I am sure the phone records will tell the truth.
Why do cops ALWAYS leave their assigned vehicles running? Do they really think that saves them time when they have to chase a criminal. It is just another way to waste the public’s maney.
Pictures of the patrol car show it in a ditch next to a sign. It looks like it was more than "moved." Why couldn't he run away and call 911. Getting in a patrol car that is not your vehicle and driving it away is crazy.
Almost included it. He does not know the guy. The phone records back up there was no call from him. He checked and the guy clerked at the SUPREME Court while he was on the Court of Appeals. SO they were in the same building but worked for two different courts. Happy?
Considering he just had the **** scared out of him, not surprised.
Mississippi's finest.
Background investigations? We don't need no stinkin' background investigions. If he's a friend of Billy Bob, Boo, Bubba, or Cletus he's good to go.
10:46 yep....good ole boy system at its finest. Also, there was an IA division previously at dps and it used to report to the Col. of MHP. This "newly created" IA division that had been hammed up reports directly to Tindell. Maybe they will report to him what happened right?
I guess if you are scared it is ok to commandeer any vehicle around? I will keep that in mind next time I get the **** scared out of me and see if I end up in the county jail.
head of the new IA is Patrick Beasley. You want to go smear him? He's the guy who prosecuted the Irby case and took on the drug dealer RSS.
this is the sort of things that happen when you take people who are not fit to be shopping mall security guards and give them a gun , a badge , and a car that goes 140 mph.
Why is it troopers can’t stay out of trouble? Well, let me tell you. They’re not the tall, calm, resolute, square-jawed police we think they are. They’re instead, thugs now, roided-up bullies with a badge, tatted-up enforcers of the rule-making class. They don’t “put their lives on the line every day,” and they are not worthy of whatever respect you may have for them.
Woman: Hey big boy, wanna help me move furniture?
Big Boy: Sure lady, watcha got needs goin' where?
Woman: I gotta bed needs goin' up and down.
Point is, women can be very aggressive, though this is overlooked or denied.
Nobody mentioned Patrick Beasley and tried to smear him through the mud. I believe the point of 11:05 was that dps has had an IA division that reported to the Col. of MHP. Yes, Beasley was hired as the IA director and it was restructured to now report directly to Sean Tindell.
Never understood why so many people feel that the boys and girls in patent leather are the so called Special Forces of Law Enforcement. They don't do the job of a local cop or deputy and if they ever did, they have forgotten. He did violate the law by leaving his unit running and unattended. MS Code § 63-3-909
That's right, folks. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.
I am sure the neighbors also saw what was going on that night and can corroborate the "facts." Do you want to take bets on which statements are true?
He was worried about the other unit being driven inside
9:34 - I was told some years ago that all the electronics in a patrol vehicle need to stay powered up, thus the engine is left on. Also, all that extra equipment puts a tremendous strain on the battery when cranking. Is that true or just an excuse to keep the air conditioner running full blast?
KF, you ran a series on a MHP officer in North Ms who was after a guy for giving the finger.
How about an update?
@11:16 is on the money!
MHP…when seconds count, they’re just minutes away
In the MHP oath, they pledge to enforce and OBEY the law! Why do they not obey the traffic laws?
Dude makes trooper pay to sit in the security shack? Nice.
Why does it seem the little head always has more on its mind than the big head?
Remember the Old Sayin- "Guns Don't Kill People. Husbands That Come Home Early Kill People"
Under the domestic violence law in Mississippi law enforcement SHALL make an arrest if there is signs of injury to the victim. So either there was no evidence of the wife being assaulted or the deputies decided since he was a trooper they would ignore the law. The victim in a domestic violence case does not have to file charges, they may not aide in the prosecution, but an arrest SHALL be made.
Dude, if a trooper c!@#k blocked me like that and I had Tindals number, I would have called too, told him to come get his guy
A personal incident, blown up by a dumbssa thinking he could do what he wanted (I’m not talking about the trooper). I’m sure every officer on scene can state that no car was blocked, no one was harmed… just stupid decisions made.
Maybe it’s important to add that the guy was more of embarrassed than afraid. He did it to get back at the trooper, not imagining he would report it stolen.
What was the trooper doing while this gentleman backed up the troopers car? Now is someone pulled a gun on me and I got away, I’d be sprinting and zig zagging down the street! If this trooper cared enough about his wife while they were on good terms and happy, he wouldn’t be stalking her!!! I know this young trooper will be ashamed and yes his peers will be talking about his dumb ignorant ass.
As suspected, there is another side to this story. Jody's car may not have been blocked in. Would make more of a case for charges to be brought against him for getting in that troopers car to "move" it. Now who does Jody actually know?
Jamel, it’s over with you and your wife, let it go! Your other girlfriends are gonna be mad with you!
12:30 can you please elaborate? He got in the troopers car and took off out of spite? What happened after that?
