36 Days till the Election. Unless this election is won decisively, it will go to the courts, likely to many of them, for a decision. If the average Joe doesn't know how taxes work I feel sorry for them. For the Pres. to have that much of a loss he lost money which he can deduct such as in the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City which closed 7 or 8 years ago. Think about it you lost 100 million on a hotel, you can claim it as a loss against income. Remember, you paid money to have it built which you lost so you don't come out ahead. Now he may have had some stockholders involved but you don't come out ahead. It is the same thing as you deducting your house interest. You get to deduct the $10,000 you paid in interest, it comes off your income so it saves you 25% or $2,500 hundred on taxes but you still spent another $7,500 so it's not like free money.
