They can’t control it. Call in help. The National Guard was needed 2 years ago. This weekend is going to be a crap show with the holiday, heat, and liquor.
I'm sure all the thugs are tuned in and will immediately change their ways.
Im sure all the gang bangers are huddled around tge TV listening and will behave this weekend.
How about not accusing everyone that is not black that tries to do something about the problem a racist. That would be a damn good start.
what about capitol police?

Of course they will. It should come with caveats like boots on the ground from the federal government, not just an open checkbook like they want.
The frustration is very understandable. The desire for less crime is sincere. But wanting to do something about crime is not enough. Saying you're going to do something about crime is worthless. Tackling crime in Jackson is not about how many police officers you have or where they are patrolling. It's about homes that are producing young people with no moral guidance, no discipline, no guardrails for behavior, and eventually having no regard for human life. The most immediate and effective means would be for the judges to start following the law and sentence offenders accordingly instead of giving them a path back to the streets.
Ahh, federal money to buy new SUVs, office decor, overtime for her driver, funding for her golden parachute... Was she pulling on the mayor's puppet strings or did I imagine that? He seems to be her step-and-fetch.
How do you convert thugs into law abiding citizens? It's way too late for most of them.
