Anti-white bias is the entire basis of Chokwe's campaign. From his admission that the federal takeover of water and sewer would make Jackson less black, to his only accomplishment being the fight over the airport, to his supporters hating on Horhn because white people voted for him, etc. If a white candidate were doing this, it would make international news. I never realized how much some black people hate white people until now.

Question for Mr. Archie and others: Is there an argument for Mr. Lumumba to remain in office besides that white people want him out? Because I haven't heard one.

Can't be any worse than Clay Edwards agreeing with someone on his show that they hate working with Blacks because they are lazy and ignorant. This is so infuriating. I'm white. I'm a Democrat. I'm a resident of Jackson. I voted for Kamala Harris. I would NEVER vote for Trump. Never. Guess what? I voted for John Horhn - a black Democrat. Don't tell me who I should vote for. The mayor was beaten bad by everyone in Jackson. Only Jackson residents can vote legally. There's no trickery. The Democratic Primary is the de facto mayors race in Jackson. The winner is the next mayor, the general election is a formality. I'm always going to vote in the Democratic Primary for mayor. When Archie demands that whitey not vote, he's disenfranchising white voters.

If I choose to vote in the Republican primary this election and vote in the Democratic primary in another election, I can do it, no problem. I cannot vote in both at the same time and no one did. No one registers by party and no one is bound to vote by party in this state. If Mississippi lawmakers suggest that voters should be forced to register by party and be bound to vote accordingly, Archie would holler about that. He is what is generally called a malcontent and since he was so soundly rejected as a candidate any of his protests over his own defeat would look stupid so he must find something else to holler about.

Read between the lines. Archie is upset that the "white community" didn't coalesce behind his campaign and, more to the point, that they didn't fund his campaign.

I was working the polls at the Willie Morris library when just about every Democrat voted in the Republican primary (and then again in the run-off) to prevent Chris McDaniel from beating Thad Cochran. I don't remember any outrage.

We don't register with a party in Mississippi. To the extent you vote in a party primary, you can't vote in the other party's runoff in that same election but that's it.

Archie is just mad he didn't get more votes. Horn got support from Democrats and Republicans, because who can tolerate another term of the current mayor and expect the city to survive. All the candidates except Z and maybe one other are frantically trying to get Lumumba in the runoffs knowing even an independent or Republican could beat him. I don't love any of the options, but 4 more years of CL is a death sentence for the city.

So, I suppose Archie is the City’s newest consultant. Like they hired Marshan to not run against him last time, right? Watch and see.

So there are blacks who are racists and whites who are racists. There are Democrats who hate Republicans and vice versa.
