I have a gun in my hand every time I exit my vehicle as I remove it from my console to take inside and it's in my hand every time I step out the door to get into my truck. I am literally waiting for this to happen to me at my home in Fondren. Head is on a swivel at all times. I keep an extra magazine next to it. I am military and law enforcement trained with this weapon.

Someone comes onto my property and tries this, and they're going to get cut to pieces. Watching this video is infuriating.

I was working on this street a couple of weeks ago, about 2 blocks west of the victim's house. Similar looking fellow was walking down the street so I eased away from the street to the side yard so I couldn't be ambushed, went ahead and raised my shirt and got a solid grip on the handle. Kinda wish he'd have tried that with me, I would have given it my best effort to make the thugs think twice in that area.

As a LEO, I'm always carrying. If I lived in west Jackson, I would probably have my AR on every time I walked outside of the house. These clowns can't hit the broadside of a barn, so it wouldn't be hard to pick them off before they can do any harm to you. The problem with these young thugs is that they have no regard for human life. They will kill you over a car. Sadly, most are beyond reform, and violence usually has to be met with violence.

Thank you, God, for preventing any innocent deaths. Hopefully this will come to a quick conclusion with carjackers actually going to jail. Hopefully for a long time.

There are times, such as here, that you would gladly vote to bring back drawing and quartering, replete with castration.

While we're at it, bring back legal abortion.

It's a crying shame that the capital city of our great state, has this type of criminal behavior, happening on a regular basis. It's scandalous, that the criminal justice system, of both Jackson, and Hines County, seem to exhibit no distress that this behavior is happening.

There's no public display of dismay from the marxist mayor's office concerning this reckless behavior. As it appears, he is preoccupied with wrestling control of the water, and sewer, system from the third party receiver, along with the millions of dollars of federal funding. That seems to be front, and center of this marxist administration, when the marxist mayor isn't ramming a rigged garbage contract down the city council's throat. Democratic government, in name only.

There's no cry from the democratically elected judges, and prosecutors, pledging to stem the tide of criminal activity that plagues the citizens, that elected them to office.

Releasing the perpetrators of these wicked acts, over, and over again to terrorize the voters that chose them. Having court dockets that are overflowing, because of their slothfulness. Who can save this city from its self?

Where are the marchers, and demonstrations, by the voters, that elected these worthless leaders? Where are the demands for accountability of those they put in power?
Have they come to accept their position as prey to the criminal predators? I say again, who can save Jackson, Mississippi?

This family was on the news tonight saying they are getting out of Jackson. I'm so glad they came through this unhurt, and I understand their desire to get out. But people need to respond to dangers BEFORE the life-threatening events. Don't put yourself in a dangerous place if you can avoid it. Choosing to live in Jackson is a fateful decision. I guess it's human nature to think "it can't happen to me" but the danger is real, and the police were not there to help these people when this happened. The culprits are still out there. Jackson is a bad place for a number of reasons, but choosing to live there could cost you your life. You may not die from a pothole or waiting for clean water to flow to your faucet, but the crime has made that city too dangerous even in the daytime.

I haven't heard anything about TJ Maxx or Old Navy leaving County Line. Though I wouldn't be surprised. I wasn't surprised Marshalls left when my wife overheard a worker explaining that Marshalls was looking to relocate and mentioning the shoplifters pulling knives on the workers when confronted.

“City With Soul”…there are a lot of really good people on Jackson…then there are people like this, who will be arrested and sent to prison, like so many other young men… so sad

We have failed as a society when the only logical solution to these problems is to simply put these animals down. Sadly, this is what needs to be done to protect people that are contributing to society. Laws are in place that actually allow for this. I hate that there are law abiding people that are going to have to set the bar, but I have decided I am willing to go through the agony in order to provide for a safer world. If a dog is smart enough to adjust their behavior, then I know humans are capable as well. It's time we the people move in this direction. We will see these corrective measures take place. I just hope we don't have to have a radical change in our government for it to happen.

Early on it states that Jackson is “a former Confederate stronghold,” designed of course to enrage the dummies too “not all there” to realize this was over a century and a half earlier. Bwahahahahaha

I don’t remember exactly how many times the article mentions guns in some form or fashion, including Mississippi being an “open carry state,” also designed to put the blame on something other than the Democrat Party that destroyed Jackson.

My favorite insinuated lie is the role the 1970’s school desegregation had. Rankin County had the same school’s desegregation, with school classes reaching 40% black, but 50 years later no city in Republican controlled Rankin County can come close to being called “one of America’s deadliest cities.”

The scam is as follows: white elite Democrats live behind gates, or even in the Republican controlled burbs, send their kids to private schools, etc., while allowing their party to keep crime high enough in cities like Jackson to make certain Republican constituents stay away that would vote Democrats out of office…..all in exchange for votes for rich white democrats in state and federal elections.

Democrats are the reason crime is out of control in Jackson, and it all started with Kane Ditto (thank God most of us don’t have this tom live with as a legacy).

I see some comments posted here where some are actually seeing and communicating what really needs to happen here. You will see a lot of improvement in this city as well as Mississippi when the rest of you folks get on board and start speaking the language that sends a very clear message. What most of you "lower class" people do not understand, is that I love my city. I live in Eastover, where we have paid for police patrol 24/7/365. We pay horribly high property taxes, but are glad to pay them, to live close in and not deal with the rabble daily on the commutes that "you people" must deal with. I say "Work harder.....nobody cares".

As of this morning, one of these thieves is in custody, turned in by his parents per news report. The other individual will be arrested. I feel for his parents, terrible thing to have to do, but they did the right thing. I feel for the family they did this to, this trauma will haunt them the rest of their lives.
