Let's see if I can digest this.
Yesterday, our Honorable Mayor was blaming the spike in COVID on the Governor because, according to Chockke, the Governor 'opened things up to early'.
But today,Hizzoner shuts things down on his own.
So - just as it was in March - Baby Chock thinks it is in his purview to be able to open/close whatever he deems appropriate, but when he wants to cast (partisan political) blame, the cause is all due to the Governor.
Let's review class - this is the Governor that our Radical New City's Mayor is constantly begging for more money, more support (without strings or conditions, just give us the cash) to help solve the problems that he and his governing council cannot handle, but that out of the other side of his mouth he wants to slam, demean, and in a recent instance support a statement that he is a member of the KKK.
So Mayor - its the Governor's fault for all your problems, but - its the Governor that you want to pay for and fix all your problems.
Nice gig if you can get it. Too bad Baby Chock, you got it but you can't keep it.
I can put all of my other criticism aside and say I agree with the Mayor on this. We need to shut down these clusters of people hanging out at the bar. Its just stupid.
What has he said about street parties on camera?
I might have missed it
BabyChok wants to drive all the businesses out of Lumumbaville.
On the issue of school reopenings, there is an excellent article in today's NYT with specific recommendations toward the end arising out of Israel's experience:

I really don't understand y'all at times... Like, what do y'all want? Lol Y'all were complaining about people being out and about, now this order comes down and you are complaining about the order. Are you all well?
Good.
Anyone who says otherwise is playing politics.
now just cancel streetball and things will finally improve in the city...
@12:01, they want to complain about Lumamba. It’s called Lumamba Derangement Syndrome or LDS for short. It’s a serious condition that primarily affects Caucasians over the age of 55.
The order is appropriate. The Governor should follow suit state-wide.
12:34 is the same unoriginal boor who plagiarizes criticisms of Lumumba as LDS. Why not come up with your own term? Better yet, why not come up with a defense of Lumumba's failures? Then again, plagiarism is much easier than defending Lumumba.
The Mayor is right on this one, and he's only doing with most cities that are wrestling with this pandemic are doing. Tater is the one trying to have it both ways and letting things get worse in the process.
Wait
Wait
Wait just a second...
Commenters on this blog actually go to bars in Jackson? Well clutch my pearls lol
Ohhhhh that’s right...y’all just complain about Jackson. Oh well, nothing to see here.
Wonder how long this will take to not be enforced. Waiting for the Vids and posters to be put up.
Martins is toast. Their bar is packed all day.
It’s a Deep corona hole.
Who cares? Nobody takes Lumumba seriously, and I have no need to go to Jackson anyway.
Enforcement will always be a problem with these kind of mandates. How can finite LEO resources be best used to shut down super-spreaders like nightclubs and bars in violation without allowing other routine crimes to go unchecked?
Why can't we have a bunch of bars and foodies on Jackson Street in Ridgeland. Be able to bar hop, get a good meal. That would be cool.
@1:33 who was it “plagiarized” from? As far as I know, I am the originator of the term. I’m sorry it cuts you so deeply, but that’s something you should discuss with a well qualified professional. I’ll be happy to defend Lumamba on this one. Bars should not be open during a pandemic. His order looks like a genius move of pure common sense compared to what the Republicans have come up with so far. Clearly Lumamba is a very stable genius.
If Covid doesn't kill restaurants in Jackson, Chuckie will.
2:32 PM
Lack of available retail space. If you're in real estate it would be a good idea to start buying that property along the road. Most everything on that road is doctors or lawyers offices.
Why did they do all of this when we had the swine flu? I have never seen the US do some of this silly stuff before. Man I wished it wasn't an election year. Screw Antar, he wont do anything anyway. Anyone seen the guy his henchmen took away from his gun control presser?
BabyChok has never been taken this "virus" seriously since day one .
Then we meet this Lil' "Dobbs" kid.
He's saying that he has the authority to arrest anyone.
????
I think not Doc.
You are now in the same boat (with Governor Tater) .
Good luck with that !
Since March of 2020, I and many others have been doing our best to follow the "rules".
But this is now bullshit.
Nothing has happened to the others that have ignored Tater's "executive" orders.
Now you . . . the State Health Officer . . . think you have the authority to arrest Mississippi citizens ?
Good luck with that.
Seems this little "Doctor Dobbs " thrives on media coverge.
Well then, me and my drinking buddies will just have to hit the bars in Madison and Niknar for our daily happy hours.
Anything can be considered a face covering. A bandanna, panties, a fishnet stocking, etc. Because it isn't about public safety. It's is about submission to authority and peer pressure. Kneeling, bowing, groveling and face covering.
"Anything can be considered a face covering" .
Very true.
But be very careful when using panties as a face mask.
That could be ten times more dangerous than the actual "Rona".
Why is the death rate going down so much?
That mayor is a major joke, likes to hear himself talk and talks out of both sides of his mouth. He told CNBC or whatever major network that interviewed him a few days ago that staying at home caused crime because too many people were closed up in a house together; now today, he decides that bars should be shut down and/or limited to a certain number of customers. So, do they stay home and commit crimes or go to bars and out on the streets and commit crimes??
I couldn't help but laugh out loud last night while watching the Channel 16 news at 6 p.m. First, they played the video of the Mayor as he issued his new mandate to close businesses and outlaw gatherings of 10 people or more. In the VERY next story, they reported on the passing of Charles Evers and the plans for a street party to celebrate his life and legacy. Geezz Mr. Mayor, could you please make up your mind what you want to do? Lay out a plan and stick to it. Or, is the virus taking a holiday for a street celebration YOU want to attend. Pathetic, I say, PATHETIC!
