Mayor Defends Gun Ban as It Expires

Jackson Mayor calls Attorney General and U.S. Attorney "outside agitators."

Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba is holding a press conference right now.  It is streamed below.

* Mayor calls critics "outside agitators."  Hmm..., where have we heard that term before?   He said few, if any of them, live in Jackson.  He also thanked the Bloomberg crowd for its support.

* The Mayor is renewing the stay at home order.  It will expire on May 15.   Non-essential businesses must remain closed but can perform curbside and delivery services.  Employees must follow social distancing and wear face masks when coming within 6 feet within another customer.

* All businesses must have hand sanitizer.

* Yet another reporter asks when the order expires after he gave an expiration date.

Why aren't they social distancing? Why isn't he or the officer behind him wearing a mask?

fake news. crime rate in jackson isn’t slowing due to covid 19.

It sounds like Second Amendment advocates need to put up or shut up. Time to rally round your families. Time to march for your rights!

I wonder what his reaction would be if one million openly armed Mississippians surrounded Jackson City Hall and showed Antard that he isn't more powerful than the Bill of Rights and Constitution of the United States of America?

I call his "thugs" who come into Madison causing crime "outside agitators."

This is just so funny how he is playing all the gun zealots, not your everyday sportsman of course, because they are laughing along with the mayor, at you, Finch, the US Attorney and anyone else who doesn't realize that the mayor is toying with you just because he can. He would also love for this to go viral and raise his national exposure in the progressive movement. Keep playing into his hands.
He knows like everyone else that gun rights will always prevail in Mississippi, some of us might be hunting Squirrel in the neighborhood soon.

I didn’t think the Lumamba Derangement Syndrome could spread any further, but impressively it has. It’s hilarious how little it takes to set off the crazies.

I did say something about bait, did I not?

Never forget that the 2nd is there to protect the 1st

I'm calling on Kim Wade to organize another protest. This time for Gun Rights. The seditious leftwing media can't twist the optics into a race issue if the protests are led by a black American 2A patriot.

I wouldn't even care if street thugs happened so show up too. Because I guarantee the protest will remain peaceful since everyone will be heavily armed.

The guy is just dumb.

Not smart enough to realize the inherent contradiction in thanking the Bloomberg-funded anti-gun groups on the one hand, and chastising "outside agitators" critical of his policies.

He speaks better than Stokes. But he's not as smart.

Never has than been a 'legend in his own mind" larger than this Mayor.

Folks he's not talking to people in Mississippi much less Jackson. You have been used like a milk cow.

2:04 and 2:34 You sound like the kind who would have pulled the horse into Troy to show those arrogant Greeks who's boss. Antar would LOVE for you and your friends especially some real hard core wingnuts (right) to show up with guns marching down Capitol Street. Jackson MS. and Covid-19 fight for the top story on CNN, MSNBC,CBS, New York Times, etc. Make HIS Day!

Hey, junior, you're going to lose the airport fight as well.

Around the 9:25 mark, this idiot says 'grooming services' can remain open with telephonic or drive through
services.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've never had a 'drive through' haircut.
(And what the hell is telephonic grooming) ?

This clown is funnier than than the original SNL comedy troupe.

Renewing the stay at home until May 15? Nope.....I'm done.

Anonymous said...

If he thinks his "gun ban" is doing so much good why hasn't he renewed it? 'Nuff said!

Hehe always have liked the little portable battery powered podium and microphone. Reminds me of the "Mr. Microphone".... 'hey good lookin' I'll be back to pick you up later..."

No little Choke just because you and Stokes have run Jackson into the ground White people are still allowed to have an opinion and No just because someone disagrees with you they are not racist. I hope this little publicity stunt gets you a big raise in Liberal circles you run in

2nd amendment as matter of fact any of those amendments mean nothing to me I am the mighty Little Choke. Why dont you stand up there and say I am asking all my black brother and sisters to give up their guns. Look at the stats of the shootings this year in the city of Jackson what percentage white and what percentage black. I bet its 99 % to 1%

Jackson; The city with soul.
How can he extend the shelter in place longer than the Gov. Shelter in place?

Anonymous said...

I wonder who his outside sugar daddies are.

If you think this guy is stupid, you’re stupid.

An average of OVER one aggravated assault with a gun PER DAY and nearly FIFTEEN shots fired calls PER DAY in the last SIXTEEN months! (And those were only the ones who were caught or reported!)

Who says there's nothing going on in Jackson, MS?

It's difficult to even grasp the magnitude of those JPD-generated statistics!

The 21st amendment proves that what goes up can come down. And while Mississippi was 35 years accepting the inevitable trashing of the 18th it was trashed as will the 2nd and it won't matter if Mississippi doesn't accept that for 100 years. Mississippi is always S-L-O-W and usually last in everything worthwhile.

This is obviously the puppeteer working the puppet, but still so elementary.

5:25, I don't think he's stupid, just not as smart he thinks he is. He's creating controversy in his own city, apparently for the sole purpose of self-aggrandizement.

"He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind, and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart."

4:10 for the win!

Anonymous said...

Mayor who? One and done. Pffft.

Anonymous said...

They will never get it, they are making him a national star. You have just begun to hear from him.

Anonymous said...

Let me tell you first off mayor ludumba... I do live in Jackson and most of your neighbors in NE Jackson and fondren and belhaven think your a dummy. Also are sick of the mandate. We're the ones paying the taxes after all. Your a useless puppet and a shill of a man on a good day. Your a incompetent person to put it kindly. You couldn't make it in the private world for 2 weeks.

I doubt “your” paying any taxes @10:10pm.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
