don't know the mayor and don't care to.
but unless Costco had made a decision to put in a store, it was simply rumor and speculation. and still is. and public discussion is not part of business negotiations. this is simply not a "story". why is it that hot weather makes for very slow news leads. compare and contrast how Yarber handled the Jackson mess with this company by promising he would secure a plot for the store...
Ridgeland is about to go round the bowl and down then hole
Not happening, 6:05pm. In case you haven't noticed, Everyday Gourmet made the jump from Jackson to Ridgeland. BOOM! Game over.
9:32: I've never heard of Everyday Gourmet so their departure is not news worthy
Anonymous @9:32, how, long have you lived in this area? Haven't hear of the EverydayGuourmet-highly unusual.
Moving across the street on County Line isn't news worthy. Be specially considering they left a dying strip mall for a dying mall
I don't know the mayor. But this change in stories makes it more clear why he supported Longwitz. Same grasp of the word honesty.
@ 6:05 PM - It already looks like the barrio in the south Ridgeland.

LOL. You consider that leadership? There are hundreds of vacant buildings (and plots) in Jackson. Mayor Harvey Light would only have to throw a dart at the city map. Blindfolded.
The Mayor is throwing a fit as he feels his buddies have let him down, which is not true. According to the pro-Costco group, the area has to be affluent with average salaries in the 90k range, have a high number of married couples, plus other demographics that I don't recall. That's the reason Smith Wills was considered. Money is close by. Any other Jackson area doesn't have the right makeup for it to be successful. Why put on a bullet proof vest or risk getting robbed for bulk cans of crab meat. High end consumers would be just setting themselves up for trouble. Costco does do its research.
