Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.

Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

Bad luck. Looks like he was probably beyond the distance that park rangers normally say is dangerous.
I wonder what happened to the lady in the green shirt?
Process this meat
KF, can you overdub the Benny Hill theme song? I think it’s called Yackety Sax.
Here’s a thought. Never close distance between yourself and a wild animal known for attacking people.
Not bad luck.....sheer stupidity. Good grief, how old are you?
She ran in a straight line away from the danger instead of a circle around the trees.
He's truly lucky to be alive. What an idiot.
11:40, your labeling him an idiot is a leap. I bet some of the brightest people you know could have found themselves in that situation.
RMQ
with grandson
I was on a snowmobile going from the east entrance to old faithful back in 87. Came across one standing in the middle of the road. We watched each other as I slowly passed it. I never realized that these beasts would charge like that v
Why don't all you self righteous idiots read the entire story from the horse's mouth before posting your stupid opinions.
https://cowboystatedaily.com/
I think folks that do this have been named tourons. Tourist. Moron.
Amazing how the passing truck would seem to have offered the man a diversion, but the beast got up and ran straight to where the man was.
He was in his campground.
10:19, I'm nearly 50 and I was there a couple of years ago when a lady got mauled. PR's were trying their best to explain to every person who would listen to stay out of what they consider a dangerous range. That guy was clearly within the Park rules. Sorry your demeanor doesn't tolerate reality. Guy just had terrible luck.
Rule of thumb: If it's wild and outweighs you, it can kill you. Do you feel lucky today?
The bull is agitated and has already charged other people.
You stand there while the bull eyes you and your grandson.
You and your grandson get your phones out and do the viral video thing...
Who is the idiot?
(That bull has more muscle and kinetic energy to kill you with than an entire NFL offensive line.)
Grandpa Space Shot was the target and the bull had a good lock.
FWIW, the guy who shot the video was a professional cameraman with fair experience with filming bison and he said in no uncertain terms that the guy and his grandson did nothing wrong and it was 100% on the bison. They were over 100 yards away with other people closer and the bison had been causing problems previously. He was also one of the folks who chased off the bison after it attacked the old guy. Anyone who bothers to read the whole story would already know all of that.
An agitated domesticated cow or horse will kill you in a heatbeat. Does is have a reason? It might have a reason but it doesn't really matter if you are where it can get to you if it wants to.
X10 for a bull bison.
I read the article.
The photographer might be good at taking pictures, but he's a dipshit when it comes to recognizing danger.
"In this incident, the bull bison was the instigator. MacLeod said it was extremely evident that the bison entered Bridge Bay with a chip on its humped shoulder.
“You can tell he was agitated, pissed off, and charging anything and everything,” he said.
The biological explanation for what happened is the annual bison rut, which runs from June to September. During that time, bull bison surge with energy and aggression as they compete for dominance and females."
Oh. Ooops.
Maybe that's the kind of place a smart person would not want to be, in a rutting bulls vicinity.
News said he broke his leg in 6 places. Long rehab!
The "whole story" is you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes". End of story.
"Maybe that's the kind of place a smart person would not want to be, in a rutting bulls vicinity."
For someone who would be the judge of "smart," that's not a very "smart" statement to make. "Smart" has nothing to do with this set of facts. It is reasonable to say that a knowledgeable person with knowledge of the rutting bull being around would either avoid the vicinity or use extreme care and caution. But when (allegedly) knowledgeable people are running the "dude ranch" and allow people they know or should presume are not knowledgeable, and also unaware of the bull being there, to unknowingly wander into danger, that's on them.
From what has been said in the reporting on this, the victim and kid were unaware of the bull until they walked down the road past him. On top of which, they were not knowledgeable about cattle, bison, etc. They did as instructed, maintained a certain distance, and did not try to "get closer" - they did the typical, expected tourist thing: took pictures from the road. Moreover, the bison had been "active" for some amount of time prior to this. My question would be why videographers and other tourists were chasing the bison away from the scene rather than one or more USPS people. Certainly, the Park Service may have a reasonable answer to that. But whether it does or does not, it appears the victim was not at fault in this particular set of facts.
It's pretty clear that few, if any, commentors have worked or lived on a farm/ranch. Or even know how cows and bulls are loaded into trailers and pens everyday. If the safe range of an angry animal were farther than this poor fellow, your ground beef would be far more expensive and all animals harvested with mid to high caliber rifles and processed mid field.
bison bulls go into the rut in july.
6:49, only speaking from a week there in 2021, but I did not see many PR's around the campgrounds and the Lake in general because (imo/guess) the crowds in the Summer are so large at the main attractions-keeping people from doing truly stupid things around geysers/away from animals in the basins took just about every PR they had on staff. It seems few people warn of just how dangerous the basins are if you are stupid...and they are very dangerous. Amazing more Instagramers haven't become sulphuric slurry.
"It's pretty clear that few, if any, commentors have worked or lived on a farm/ranch. Or even know how cows and bulls are loaded into trailers and pens everyday."
It certainly is. As a guy from a multi-generation ranching family, I'd like to know how many "cows" and "bulls" you've loaded into trailers and pens. No, tons of bullshit shoveled does not count. Here's a hint: Jerry Clower's story about the new bull...up here amongst us.
"I'd like to know how many "cows" and "bulls" you've loaded into trailers and pens."
Enough to know the cows don't go where needed if the hands are further away than the guy at issue was (or equal distance of his approx. 100yds). Perhaps your multi-generational ranching family has secret formula to get them to load orderly into trailers from a distance greater than this guy was. Do share.
"Enough to know the cows don't go where needed..."
How many is "enough to know" what you imply you know very well? Only a handful of folks who load "cattle" (as a general term) into trailers very often and only very select places do it on a regular basis. Moving "cattle" around a ranch for various reasons is a bit more frequent, but it isn't a difficult task at all. However, BULLS aren't loaded into trailers very often except at VERY specific places and moving the vast majority of them around a ranch is very easy. You're full of something, but real experience with cattle, much less a working knowledge of cattle operations, is not it.
Woodrow Call, where to begin? First, I guess you don't ever take bulls to market or just simply sold a bull to another farmer or I guess you have never moved bulls between pastures for a different herd. Fine. I'm crazy and inexperienced. On the second point Captain, as for the difficulty of moving cows, my point was, and since you have multi-generational experience, I know you have seen difficult, sometimes crazy cows periodically. The issue in the entire thread was angry animals and how far one needs to distance themselves, which according some here is, I guess 300+ yards. Now go get Gus to stop loafin' and you can work that since pasture ranch you have.
*single pasture....I guess I should have lauded you with the title of Willbarger since he more experienced than Call.
