Trooper speaks out on mistrial.
Apparently booze isn't enough for Beth Ann White, she needs drugs too. The serial drunk driver managed to score some meth while incarcerated at the Raymond Detention Center in February. Posted below are three statements provided by various detention officers in the incident report:
(#1) On-February 9, 2023 at approximately 1405 hours, I D/O Y. Bishop was the Unit #L housing Officer at the Work Center. While conducting my well being and security checks I noticed the following detainees displaying abnormal behavior (possibly under the influence). Basham, Krystal #77-00095114; White, Beth #77-00060492; Miller, Heather #14-00001559; McKnight, Tiare #22-00000042 and Loftin, Jami #17-00001647. Even though I did not observe any contraband, as an intervention to protect the health and safety of the detainees in Unit 2. I then notified Sgt. McTiller of my concerns. Sgt. McTiller advised me to escort detainees to medical for a drug test. Nurse Laire advised me that all detainees drug tests results were positive for controlled substances. Sgt. McTillerwas notified. No use of force was used. (#2) ON FEBRUARY 09, 2023 AT APPROXIMATELY 1400 HOUR, I SGT. DIANA MCTILLER WAS INFORMED BY OFFICER YOLANDA BISHOP THAT 5 OF THE INMATES ON THE ZONE SEEMS TO BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE. I INFORMED HER TO TAKE EACH OF THEM TO MEDICAL FOR A DRUG TEST; ALL OF THE INMATES TESTED POSITIVE FOR METH, SPICE AND OTHER DRUGS. INMATE BASHAM, KRYSTAL# 77-00095114, WHITE BETH# 77-00060492, MILLER, HEATHER# 14-00001559, MCKNIGHT, TIARA 22-00000042 AND LOFTIN, JAMI# 17-00001647 WAS PLACED IIN SPECIAL HOUSING AND REFERRED TO DISCIPLINARY. COMMITTEE. LIEUTENANT GATHRITE WAS INFORMED. (#3) ON FEBRUARY 14,2023, AT APPROX. 0933 HOURS, DETAINEE K. BASHAM WAS FOUND GU!L'l'Y ur· TESTING POSITIVE FOR DRUGS ON FEB. 9TH. SHE ADMITTED TO DRUG USE ON THAT DAY. AT APPROX 0924HOURS, T. MCKNIGHT ADMITTED TO HER USE BY SAYING IT WAS HER DRUG OF CHOICE.AT APPRO 0940 HOURS, B. WHITE ADMITTED TO HER USE BY SAYING SHE HAVE SO MUCH STACKED AGAINST HER THEY WERE FOUND GUILTY BY THE DISCIPLINARY BOARD AND ORDERED 25 DAYS. CREDIT WAS GIVING FOR TIME ALREADY SERVE. THEY ARE TO BE RELEASED FROM LOCKDOWN ON MARCH 5TH, 2023.
White tested positive for meth but negative for other drugs.
White is charged with four counts of aggravated DUI in the death of Allison Conaway and her infant son as well as injuring her two daughters in a wreck that took place at the intersection of Springridge Road and Highway 18 in 2021. Her trial ended in a mistrial last week. District Attorney Jody Owens said he will seek a new trial.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol investigated the case. Trooper Anthony Heath was one of the troopers who worked the wreck. He sated on Facebook recently:
This was last year during my testimony for Beth Ann White bond hearing (which her bond was denied) and I did my best to make my testimony as profound as I could. I was the Trooper who worked the scene of the accident, I was the Trooper who interviewed Ms. White, I was the Trooper who spoke with the Father unbeknown to him at that time his wife and 6 month old son were deceased, and both of his girls were taken to the hospital due to serious injuries and I just had to inform him that his family was in a crash and told him to go to the hospital. He asked was everyone alright and I had to tell him, all I know when I arrived on scene they were taken to the hospital because I COULD NOT break the news like that over the phone. So I am justifiably upset about that mistrial just as you who know about the case through the news.I've been reading ALL types of conspiracy theories, making this case about race, YT privileged ( the trail was in hinds county ), she must have got something on someone, someone in the jury got paid off( TRUST me Ms. White ain't got that type of money). Educate yourself on how a mistrial happens and or what causes a hung jury and why it was hung jury which is very unfair for the family members of the deceased to read because they have already dealt with so much lost and in MY opinion it's very ignorant ( in the not knowing terms) to post such things like this.Since ALL of it is public information now due to the trail happening, I will inform you on some information. First, during my and other troopers investigation of the accident, it was EXTREMELY hard to prove which driver disregarded the traffic light. Now could Beth Ann White due to her impairment disregard the red light which caused the fatality, YES! BUT it has to be proven. Now the witnesses who stayed were witnesses who ONLY witnessed Ms. White reckless driving prior to that crash and one witness witnessed her sleep in the roadway prior to the crash. The one juror ( who was an alternate because the original had a medical emergency) who caused that one juror didn't understand what aggravated DUI is, the traffic light situation, and from what I read that one juror saw a picture the deceased driver W/O a seatbelt on and questioned it( that was because EMS unbuckled the seatbelt to see was Mrs. Conaway was breathing (alive). That's because THAT alternate juror wasn't present to physically see and hear the testimonies. That juror ONLY read and saw pictures with not context behind it.Now the question has been ask about her previous DUI charges that were dropped. Now in my experience I've witnessed LEO's get their DUI reports sliced up like lettuce because of being lazy and or not explaining and executing the Field Sobriety test correctly. So with ALL that being said hopefully the Judge will deny her bond again because Ms. White IS a clear and present danger to be out to have the opportunity to one to be impaired again, two take drugs again and three get behind the steering wheel of a vehicle again.

Yeah, just cut her ass loose while she is awaiting her new trial. What harm would there be?
Which employee is bringing in the dope? How is it being paid for?
How's the meth getting in the detention center? Are the inmates cooking it? More than likely one or more of the employees is bringing it in. And yes how did she pay for it?
What? Alternate jurors in MS aren't required to sit through all testimony like most other states? MS staying last one juror at a time.
Funny how you can tell a lot about a person just but the way they write.
All the inmates are hopped up-
I hope this isn't actually a person who was on scene. DA said he was going to take to court again. Anyone who could be called to testify should shut their mouth until the next trial is done. You dont want anything to taint your testimony.
If this is actually a trooper who was on scene, I'm sorry for the things you saw. It had to be horrific. Talk to your spouse, your preacher, your supervisor. But don't air it on social media before the next trial. You may be called as a witness and/or to testify.
Just my 2 cents.
@9:59
Nobody cooks meth anymore. The USA is flooded with cheap meth and fentanyl from North Korea via the Southern Border.
Are they providing meth cooking classes similar to MDOC providing hair dresser classes?
So there was no proof as to who ran the red light, and the State therefore can't prove causation. Jody Owens overreached, and now he's doubling down on a losing bet.
Just put her on trial for felony DUI 4th. All this other evidence of her history then comes in at the sentencing. She can then be sentenced to 10 years under 63-11-30(2)(d)(i).
The only reason I can figure for Owens to not handle it that way is purely grandstanding for the cameras.
Prior to her incarceration, where was Beth Ann White getting the money to support her lifestyle?
I don’t do illegal drugs, but if I were housed in that prison and had an opportunity to, I certainly would take them. I guess what I am saying is “stop the drugs before they get there. Don’t say it can’t be done. And, don’t overlook the probability that anyone working in a prison has about as much ambition as those housed there and could very easily be a major contributing factor.
Years ago, the alternate jurors in the jury I participated on were in the courtroom the entire time.
That is the dumbest shit ever. How did we get worse at this?
I've been telling you (posting) for several weeks that there is uncertainty as to the cause of death of the deceased parent and child.
Manner of death is known. Cause is not and was not proven. Why? Simply because, as I've posted, nobody knows who ran the red-light and you simply can NOT hang that on the fact that one of the vehicles was operated by an impaired driver. Assumption won't (and did not) fly in this case.
The jurors who voted for conviction, I believe, were just as anxious to convict as some of you on this blog are. However, you can't convict on emotion and assumption. And emotion is anger and angst over the fact that the accused was legally drunk. That does not prove causation.
Yes, Owens is a grand-stander who grasped for a non-existent limb on the tree of charges and hung his hat on it.
This is a horrible situation, but why is this individual’s trial important enough to get a play by play on? Was she high society somewhere?
2:55, You were right. Congratulations. Perhaps your point got lost in all the hot air. Let me help you out: "The state couldn't prove the defendant ran the red light and actually caused the accident."
I figure the play by play is because this woman has had so many DUIs and never really been held accountable.
Doubt she is high society 3:37.
But KF's blog = his call. And based on the number of comments and interest I would say he "called" this one well.
Kingfish why are you not making note of the failures of Jody Owens as a County DA. I think a whole story should be made of his failure to get convictions in these highest of profile cases. Too, you made note of Judge Gibbs at the time not trying any criminal cases. How many criminal cases has Jody Owens tried to verdict?
Who the hell is Beth Ann White and why is this woman receiving media attrition besides killing a mom and her child in a DUI accident?
Most prosecutors have little to no zero felony jury trial experience, thus plea/sentence bargaining to avoid a trial at any cost.
the war on drugs, every prison and jail filled with dope, addicts maintaining a habit. we are on the wrong path in this crusade, if reducing street drugs is the goal.
@ 3:51 - I thought it best to draw a dot-to-dot picture for the slow-to-grasp crowd, of which you are obviously at the head table.
Shame on you Kevin Camp if you ask for Bond for Beth White knowing she has violated jail policy with illegal drugs while behind bars. If she drove while under several illegal substances killing (2) & injuring 2 children permanently then she would not be safe to others if released on Bond.
