The former Phillips 66 gas station at the intersection with North Frontage Road has long been an eyesore. However, change is on the way.
Gabriel Prado confirmed he purchased the property and will transform it into a sister of his Northside Drive gas station. Crews are already working on the building. The building will go from looking like the picture above to looking like this.

hahaahahah ahhhhh the 90s. I use to buy cigarettes here underage when I was in high school
The whole city is an eye sore.
More immigrant contributions to the economy while terrified whites abandon the capital and flee to their white havens and sec academies.
3:19 Following the same disparaging, but truthful, vein, you forgot to mention "....and the majority of Jacksonians continue to contribute little to negative."
As someone who lives down the street from there, thanks Don Gabriel
The Don Gabriel on Northside Drive is a very well-run convenience store. This conversion on Briarwood is a very good thing for Jackson.
Tear it down!
I'll make it a point to frequent. Atta' boy, Gabriel.
Now if could just get Cohan to follow the law and tear down Briarwood One... but what I know from his reputation with dying malls, don't expect it to happen anytime soon.
when building/rebuilding a convenience store becomes a highlight, you know that things are said in the state of jackson.
3:19 Dying to know what you believe whites are terrified of. Declining property values? Driving on the surface of the moon? Wondering whether or not we will have water? Paying exorbitant property taxes while watching our hard earned tax dollars being squandered, wasted or stolen ? Being harassed by police when we are the ones who called them asking for help (when they bothered to answer )? etc etc.... If this is what you're insinuating then you are correct.
Don't get confused. A decision to leave the town you were born and raised in after finally realizing that it'll never live up to the fond memories we had growing up there and will never be the same is not fleeing in terror as you suggest. We're just moving on to communities who appreciate and support their citizens. By all means, please explain your statement which sounds racist.
What I think 3:19 pointed out and you agreed with is the one thing the Chowke Lumumumbulumba Administration HAS indeed accomplished:
FREE THE LAND
FREE THE LAND
FREE THE LAND
By any means necessary.
We just need a few deep pocket investors.
Prado- when will the Top Golf ribbon cutting be?
Don Gabriel 2025!
@4:49 I 100% agree. It is my favorite quick stop in that area. Very well run, clean, etc.
@3:11
I think your referring to “Quick trip” not quick stop.
@3:19, the so called immigrant contributions that Don Gabriel has made along with some others have actually been beneficial to property values. If you think that Nail Salons, Wig Shops, Check Cashing and illegal street corner vendors hawking nasty food and sometimes stolen items is good for Jackson then go to West and South Jackson and do what you do best. And that is contribute to the decline of property values and allow your properties to erode and degrade. Did you happen to make your community better? Don Gabriel did.
Gabriel Prado is the investor. The "Don" is a reference to his father who passed away a few years ago. And Gabriel is a United States citizen (for those who may be scared of immigrants).
I recall as a kid visiting this gas station for water, Gatorade, and ice. I played many tennis tournaments at Parham Brides Tennis Center growing up, this place was my stop to get ready for my next match! Glad to see it will be back up and running better than ever soon!
