October 7 is to Israel what September 11 and December 7 are to Americans as Hamas terrorists and civilians invaded Israel and killed over 1,400 Israelis. Gazans tortured Israelis, kidnapped children, and yes, raped and mutilated women. The New York Times investigated the use of sexual violence against Israeli women and reported Thursday:
At first, she was known simply as “the woman in the black dress.”
In a grainy video, you can see her, lying on her back, dress torn, legs spread, vagina exposed. Her face is burned beyond recognition and her right hand covers her eyes.
The video was shot in the early hours of Oct. 8 by a woman searching for a missing friend at the site of the rave in southern Israel where, the day before, Hamas terrorists massacred hundreds of young Israelis....
A two-month investigation by The Times uncovered painful new details, establishing that the attacks against women were not isolated events but part of a broader pattern of gender-based violence on Oct. 7.
Relying on video footage, photographs, GPS data from mobile phones and interviews with more than 150 people, including witnesses, medical personnel, soldiers and rape counselors, The Times identified at least seven locations where Israeli women and girls appear to have been sexually assaulted or mutilated.....
And The Times interviewed several soldiers and volunteer medics who together described finding more than 30 bodies of women and girls in and around the rave site and in two kibbutzim in a similar state as Ms. Abdush’s — legs spread, clothes torn off, signs of abuse in their genital areas.....

The Times also viewed a video, provided by the Israeli military, showing two dead Israeli soldiers at a base near Gaza who appeared to have been shot directly in their vaginas....

One witness provided particularly horrifying testimony.
About 15 meters from her hiding place, she said, she saw motorcycles, cars and trucks pulling up. She said that she saw “about 100 men,” most of them dressed in military fatigues and combat boots, a few in dark sweatsuits, getting in and out of the vehicles. She said the men congregated along the road and passed between them assault rifles, grenades, small missiles — and badly wounded women.
“It was like an assembly point,” she said.
The first victim she said she saw was a young woman with copper-color hair, blood running down her back, pants pushed down to her knees. One man pulled her by the hair and made her bend over. Another penetrated her, Sapir said, and every time she flinched, he plunged a knife into her back.
She said she then watched another woman “shredded into pieces.” While one terrorist raped her, she said, another pulled out a box cutter and sliced off her breast.
“One continues to rape her, and the other throws her breast to someone else, and they play with it, throw it, and it falls on the road,” Sapir said.
She said the men sliced her face and then the woman fell out of view. Around the same time, she said, she saw three other women raped and terrorists carrying the severed heads of three more women.
Sapir provided photographs of her hiding place and her wounds, and police officials have stood by her testimony and released a video of her, with her face blurred, recounting some of what she saw....

Unfortunately, there are a significant number of people whose ideology, ignorance or (most likely) a combination of both that results in a complete absence of any understanding whatsoever of the history of the region and the underlying conflict. The Jewish people have continually resided in Land of Israel/Judea (so-named throughout antiquity until changed to “Roman Palestine” by the Romans after a series of revolts) since at least 1700 BC (and some 1300 years before the invention of Islam). Although Israel did control Gaza for several decades after annexing the territory from Egypt as a result of the 1967 war, it has not been control of region since ceding control to the Arab “Palestinians” in 2005. The Palestinians voted Hamas into power and it is Hamas (with the tacit consent of the Palestinians) who attacked Israel. This is of course a very rudimentary account of a complex history, and I would politely suggest that 2:42p, 2:50p and others similarly uninformed would benefit spending more time reading an accurate, unbiased history text rather than the daily chyrons on CNN/MSNBC.

I'm sorry I am having trouble believing this stuff. Sounds a little like propaganda designed to dehumanize nice Moslem neighborhood boys. I'm sure there are plenty atrocities to go around but the idea of one guy raping a woman while his buddies play catch were her severed breast is hard for me to swallow.

For those of you parroting the "Gazans are all terrorists" trope, I'd strongly encourage you to follow a few Gaza personalities on social media. There are people on the ground in Gaza right now capturing scenes of war and daily life, and it doesn't take long to see that most Gazans are just like us: families trying to get by, caught in a bad situation. Seriously, go and see for yourselves - there's no excuse to be uninformed in this day and age.

My prayers for Israel are unending. I cannot imagine the horror they have seen. This sort of violence is unfathomable and these monsters deserve to be mutilated in return, slowly until the die.
It is so sad that Hamas has been allowed to become what it is and that innocent Gazan children are being harmed by the war that Israel has every right to defend against.
