The city of Jackson issued the following statement.
City of Jackson water customers remain under a state-imposed boil water notice Tuesday. The state Department of Health issued the notice after water sampling revealed higher than standard turbidity levels. Those higher levels of turbidity, or cloudiness, are still not where they need to be to lift the notice. In addition to the water samples, the Health Department is also monitoring water production at the O.B. Curtis Plant to ensure stability.
The notice will remain in place until water samples reach an acceptable level and water production at the plant is stabilized. Due to the ongoing circumstances, the City cannot commit to a specific timeline, but the goal is to be off the notice by the end of the week.
The City continues to discuss options with the Health Department to remedy the issues behind the continued notice, including staffing levels. We have also secured outside contractors to help update the plant and have signed off on a mutual aid agreement with the Rural Water Association that will provide additional resources such as maintenance crews. `
In response to the water system issues, we have organized water distribution sites daily to provide residents bottled water. That will continue as long as we are under the state-imposed notice. The City would like to thank the individuals, companies and nonprofits that have stepped up to the plate with water donations during this time of need. Drinkable water is also available at the Sykes Community Center at 520 Sykes Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents are asked to bring a container to store the water in.
We understand how important this issue is to residents and businesses and will provide an update as the situation develops. Thank you for your patience.
Kingfish note: Just curious, did the ammonia leak sicken any employees and if so, how many?

End of what week in what month in what year?
They’ve engaged the RURAL water association for assistance. They’re at crisis level and trying not to let the public know this
Perception of thirst.
Access to drinkable water is the very foundation of any civilization. Has been for thousands of years. Think about that. Leave it to Chowke to try and buck that trend. He's just the guy to do it.
I mean this in the kindest way.
For the most part the City is being run by incompetent face people. When you have a problem that needs fixing YOU FIX IT OR DIE. It's that important. And I can hear them now. "But you don't understand". I maynot, but I guarandangtee you I'd figure it out. "We don't have the money". We need to have a full blown audit. I understand the State Auditor's limitations, but there are ways around them. Money? For every 10 under perfomers, use those 10 salaries and hire 3 High Performers. It makes me furious to see that when we became #1 in the Nation in murders per capita, we figure, "ya know, we just may have a problem". It's time to vote the "face people" out of politics and I'm talking legislators, etc. too. No offense, but NE Jackson looks like W Jackson used to. I mean we can't even figure out how to use our incarcerated to pick up trash. WE DONT HAVE THE MENTAL CAPACITY TO ORGANIZE IT. It's like the Talents in the Bible. If you can't handle 1 Talent ... I wouldn't let 80% of them cut my grass.
The people of Jackson better organize and put a solid person up for Mayor, because I don't think Jackson can survive this much longer.
I'd like to wish you and yours a Fantastic
2022 and i hope the rest of the year is the best year of your life and that it’s filled with happiness, joy and amazing memories.
idiots are going to get people killed here with some type of water-born disease or internal organ-attacking parasite
Nb4 somebody posts that the political party one belongs to makes any difference fixing Jacktown’s problems.
Here it comes:
1. A $300,000 "feasibility study", undoubtedly awarded to some firm in Houston, to recommend privatizing the water supply by a contractor through the bid process.
2. The federal .gov will award grants and such to pay for this contractor.
3. The bid process will be the standard Jackson thing. Services such as grass cutting, youth mentoring, personnel training, etc. will be lumped in with each bid, padding the cost with unverifiable expenses. The usual contractors will be bidding.
4. Two years later the system will be completely broken in another Siemens debacle.

July 6, 2022 at 6:59 AM”
And when that happens the media will rush in from all around the country and blame Republicans
@6:59 AM - they are called yutes and thugs.
I have been on mission trips to help third world countries have access to drinking water. Do we need to have mission trips come to Jackson? This needs to have national coverage
7:49 it has had national coverage. All they did was blame the white man, play the race card, and beg for more money. No one took it seriously, just like no one takes Drake 2.0 seriously. He's off pandering his lies as his city crumbles. That's what needs to be in the media, pretty boy's ineptness, thinking he is better than anyone, and lack of giving a shit. He is the mayor of Jackson, MS, he is not near as important as he thinks he is.
"The City continues to discuss options..."
Says it all.
Clearly they’ve been lying to us the entire time and the problems are far wider reaching and serious than they telling us. The EPA and various health agencies need to set up thorough testing across the city. Flushing and sanitizing the pipes across the city must happen but will not. Ice machines, water fountains, sinks, dish washers etc throughout jackson are contaminated. I doubt the city will have enough water pressure to do so correctly. This is a health disaster. Restaurants and grocery store systems are fully compromised. Landscaping, sports fields, crops, gardens and yards are being watered with contaminated water. At least that is my perception.
What makes the water at Sykes Community Center drinkable?
Meanwhile, the boy mayor Chowke is sipping adult beverages in Atlanta while Rome burns. He is not just in over his head; he is 1,000' underwater. That fool doesn't know what he doesn't know.
Bring a container? What, like a pitcher?
@8:56
Baby Choke is doing just fine and knows exactly what buttons to push to keep his simple minded voters on the plantation. He got this !
Jackson home prices fell another 3.3% in June. Oh well.
It seems that no one is complaining about the trash collection now that they don’t have clean drinking water.
The difference between POTABLE water and PORTABLE water is the "R". And only in Jackson Mississippi is the "R" silent. You don't think the slick little Marxist Mair knows and realizes that? It's part of the scruggle!
Who does KF have in mind for a responsible Mayor? I had liked Aaron Banks, but after his Ellis name change to Bobby Rush Ave name change $1M snafu, I've been disappointed. A challenging campaign started now can force Lil Choke to at least pretend to be a practical manager, which normalcy is otherwise outside his marxist mindset.
KF , the leak got no one sick. Why ? Because no one was there working !!!!
He could ask Uncle Bennie for some federal help, but even Bennie knows it's a lost cause and even he doesn't like Drake Jr. Plus he is too busy trying to impeach an ex President for the 3rd time while he has the spotlight.
If anyone gets sick after drinking the alleged "potable" water, the city will just claim that the person must have consumed some tap water without boiling it.
The mayor will blame it on gun shows, white flight, and the perception of contaminated water.
I am posing this question again as I did in the earlier post from this week. How are the fire stations providing potable water and where are they getting it? Are they going outside to another city? Do they have a filtration system? Or, are they filling up the tanks from the fire hydrants thinking that “ nobody will question or won’t care where we are getting this from”. You don’t have to have distilled water to extinguish a fire. Questions really need to be asked.
Too bad they're still not making disaster movies like they were back in 70's & 80's......
They could come to jackson and not have to spend a dime on props!!!!!

You prob didn’t mean this to be funny, but I cannot stop laughing😂😂
