Chase Suspect is Murder Suspect in Another Case

Pearl Mayor Jake Windham will hold a press conference at 1 on the police chase that took place yesterday.  The city issued a statement that is posted below. The video is posted below.

There are no indictments for Andrews in Rankin and Hinds counties.

Well, recon how many of the woke crew will retract their sympathetic replies about just let the speeder go, get his tag number and pick him up later.
Dear members of the woke community, when a vehicle has a stolen or swapped license plate, how do you pick him up later?
When someone runs, it is for a reason, not because they are late for Bible study or camp meeting.

It will be interesting to find out what the police officers who chased him knew about his background during the chase. If it can be proven by video or radio logs that they knew he was out on bond, then their actions would seem reasonable.

Another horrible breakdown of law and order in Jackson, not Pearl. How in the world was this guy on the streets at all?

I do not live in Pearl and never met the mayor - but I'm a huge fan now. He handled the tainted media extremely well, and put Jackson's mayor in his place.

Good for you Pearl. The Jackson "leadership" has accepted deviant and criminal behavior as unstoppable and even normal. Rather than draw a hard line and announce that they will not tolerate a thug culture, they seek ways to coexist with forces that are destroying the city. Fight back. Sometimes the results are tragic unfair circumstances but it's a price that we must pay to live in a descent city. My sincere condolences to the postal workers family.

A lifelong resident of Jackson.

Lumumba is against pursuits, but wasn’t there one recently where a murder suspect was pursued from Jackson to Carroll County? How does the mayor expect criminals to be apprehended if they flee?

Maybe if JPD assisted before a tragic incident occurrs rather than respond after the fact. Andrews could have been apprehended. JPD will not help outside agencies in pursuit. I don’t blame the officers because the administration will not support them.

Well said. This statement could be applied to anywhere US as well as Jackson. . If the elected officials are not missing the effort to protect their citizens, businesses and streets from the lawbreakers they ARE one of the thugs ruining the capital city and the USA!

1) according to the press release, andrews was charged in several jurisdictions (flowood, pearl, hinds county), but still at large. 2) although it mentions andrews as a suspect for murder in hinds county(no specific location beyond that given), it does not say if andrews was ever charged. 3) the jackson mayor's full statement, which the pearl mayor conveniently omitted (blame switching have you), stated the JXN mayor was for pursuing the criminal but not at risk to civilians. 4) the pearl mayor never states when such information was available to the Pearl PD; their initial public comments was that the pursuit commenced when Andrews did not yield to a stop for speeding.

Ignore 1:51pm, a frequent troll here who play acts as a rabid a-la-gauche activist.

The no pursuit policy by Jackson officials is part of a larger soft on crime policy prevalent in Jackson and Hinds County which results in many unnecessary victims (including murder victims). The vast majority of the criminals that commit felonies have already been convicted of other felonies and should be locked up. This scenario is playing out in most major cities that have "progressive" leaders (quotation marks are used because such policies aren't progress at all).

The boy mayor is silent for almost two months about lack of water and garbage collection in his town.

But he's one of the first in front of the nearest camera to condemn law enforcement for pursuing a thug.

They actually "found a 30 round extended magazine in his car that he tried to hide behind an abandoned house after hitting the mail truck"? How do that work. He hits the mail truck, tries to hide the magazine behind an abandoned house and thinks "that's not good enough, they'll find it here, so I better put it back in my car"?!

Loved the lame brain question asking why Pearl PD didn't use spike strips. Those journalists are damn bright.

The City of Jackson is a cesspool of criminality, and a menace to the entire metro area. And, the reigning leadership doesn't care about anything but getting paid.

I do not live in Pearl nor do I know Mayor Windham; however he gave the best press conference today. He was precise and spot on. He did not back down to the questions asked by the press. He stood up for the Pearl Police Department. He is to be admired for his leadership in Pearl. Thank you to the men and women in blue. I whole heartedly support you.

Where are all of the bleeding-heart cop haters from the original thread? You know, the ones that think that this little angel was just late for bible school and the mean police were chasing him for "going 7 miles over the limit."

I blame the judges that continuously let these criminals bail out with serious criminal history. Not the pursuing police.

The marxist Lil Choke hates losing another PR scenario while still mucking about in his trash-water-sewer-murder mess, so ignores the Pearl Mayor's (former policeman) facts about those who refuse to pull over typically having felony parole violations or arrest warrants or illegal guns or bodies/ drugs in the trunk.

Choke's gonna fix all that with extra taxes on wealth producers to fund guaranteed income for feral savages.

Pearl is telling it like it is. All of you posters blaming police are the ones happy with shi**y schools, high murder rates, bad water, potholes, and raw boo boo.

The blame lies ENTIRELY with the criminal.

Anonymous said...

Police admitted they chased him based on the speeding and nothing else. It sounds like he may get a bond violation from previous actions and everything else will be as a result of the chase itself. It’s not worth losing an innocent life to arrest someone for speeding, but that’s a risk many here think is necessary.

Anonymous said...

Guess the bitching about why he was being pursued is answered.

Anonymous said...

"the pearl mayor never states when such information was available to the Pearl PD"

Yeah, but he made clear his point, which is that it may be reasonably presumed that when someone flees a speeding ticket, they are actually fleeing arrest from much more serious charges, not the speeding ticket.

That's the best bit of sarcasm I have ever heard in my life.

Let's do a comparison, shall we?
Jackson Ridgeland/Madison
Mayflower closing Topgolf coming to Ridgeland
Almost nightly killing Few murders
Bad Water Good water/few problems
increase rate/Spotty garbage pickup Good garbage pickup
People scared to enter Jackson Fun to eat out at restaurants
at night
Why do criminals feel like Jackson is a safe haven?

I've said this before, but I wish there was a way to hold these Judges accountable when the feral animals that they turn lose end up terrorizing or perhaps even killing law abiding citizens. Indict them for reckless endangerment.

Lots of posting here and social media about who is right and wrong. No so many condolences for the mailman and his family. I know people who knew him, great guy and great family. Is anybody capable of posting condolences without immediately getting into local politics? It’s getting old.

Anonymous said...

Fuc**** a. Couldn’t open the video in instagram, but figured as much. Pearl Mayor didn’t mince words and good for him. Lumumba either didn’t bother to inform himself, or worse knew all along and didn’t care. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if it was the latter.

Lumumba is a disgrace.

3:17 The police make an assumption that a person willing to run from the police and not face a simple traffic violation are probably concerned about a much more serious offense they have committed. You are right this may not be true of Jackson residents who do not take the police seriously anyway and expect to simply drive away from police without consequence. However, other police departments obviously insist that people take a traffic stop and all their other laws seriously whether Jackson is a serious city or not.

I am so sorry for the Pennington family and their loss. I stand behind Pearl PD and if officials in Jackson blame our people in BLUE, I say bring it. Our Officers do not coward or RUN from Criminals. They meet them head on! If Brandon Andrews had not been pursued and still killed or harmed someone, these clowns would still blame the LE’s in Blue. Just look at what happened in UValde, TX, I don’t want our men and women along with children to go through another Pearl High School. Bottom line is if criminals don’t like it in Rankin County; stay the Hell out and keep your Asses at home! We LOVE OUR LE here in Rankin County and Pearl and our Mayor does. fine job. We will continue to support them with every tool they need including raises. THIS WAS ON BRANDON ANDREWS ALONE! We don’t have to call the Feds to clean up our County. Hinds County Sheriff, Rankin County Sheriff and all LE have said this is on a National Crisis with Parents letting children go Rouge without consequences! Parents step up! LE is NOT HERE to BABY SIT!

If the Pearl Police had ended the chase...over a freaking speeding ticket...the mailman would still be alive. The Pearl Police as just as guilty as the criminal that ran.

Anonymous said...

I don’t give a s*** what he is wanted for. Catching him is NOT worth the life of anyone I know !

Anonymous said...

Basically 80% of the media at the press conference, and 50% of the posters in this thread, take the side of the criminal. That’s why you keep having crime.

Anonymous said...

It seems the mayor forgot to use the word allegedly. He probably doesn’t care if his city’s taxpayers have to shell out further as long as his gum flapping is televised.

Anonymous said...

As long as the Mayors (and other leadership) in the burbs maintain this position, we just might influence the 'culture' of Jxn what's good and decent for a society to thrive and endure during difficult times. Heaven knows they're not gettin it from those they elect now.

It's 'unpleasant' and (quite often blocked by bloggers) and not popular to speak truth when truth is truth.

This is why societies segregate - or as so many say.. "flee to the suburbs". (same difference)

Anonymous said...

You guys blaming Pearl PD - no one takes you serious- you can’t even drink out of your taps, can’t fix a pothole, have your own raw boo boo floating by as you grill out and run everything to $hit. If you want someone to consider your views credible - back it up with how you run your city and your neighborhoods. Until then, we only take your views and know to support the opposite.

Anonymous said...

This adds a wrinkle to the mix.
Was the postal employee wearing a seat belt?

Seat belts must be worn at all times when operating a Postal Service-owned or -leased vehicle. If a privately owned right-hand drive (RHD) vehicle is used on the route, seat belts must be worn at all times and the carrier must be positioned directly behind the steering wheel whenever the vehicle is being operated.

Anonymous said...

If and when Lumumba takes action to stop the takeovers of downtown Jackson by 4 wheelers and dirt biles, or even the street racing right in front of police precincts, maybe someone will take him seriously when he gives advice on dealing with traffic violations.

Anonymous said...

I support all LE, especially now. Get rid of the ACLU, make jails an unpleasant place to be, make deserted buildings into jails, and throw all these thugs in it. Only way to get their attention since they have not had a father figure whip their butts.

Anonymous said...

If Jackson doesn’t want to pursue criminals, prosecute criminals or incarcerate criminals, then Jackson has to live in the house that Jackson built. Quit bitching about white flight (and their businesses) and the loss of tax revenue. It’s on you.

Anonymous said...

I really don't care what Pearl PD and their mayor and chief of police found out after an innocent man was killed. What Pearl PD knew before that man was killed was a traffic offense had been committed and the perp wouldn't stop for blue lights. They had the make of the car and the tag number. Once the chase speed got up to 90 miles an hour, the police should have backed off. Yes, you caught a piece of crap human being, but we lost a great husband, father, brother and son. No, this does not make Pearl look good; it makes them look desperate. The police didn't catch him; he wrecked and caught himself. You all can spin this any way you want, but this chase was not worth that man's life.

Anonymous said...

Welcome to the conversation Mayor Choke-a-lot!! Now let the men who know how to run their cities do just that.

Now run on back to screwing your voters.

Anonymous said...

This guy has to defend his officer.

Anonymous said...

Can we get Pearl PD to take over law enforcement in Jackson?

Anonymous said...

While I DO favor hot pursuit of any (by now) felon fleeing to avoid arrest, the Pearl Mayor can't say the guy was pursued due to his prior criminal record....since those in pursuit only knew he had 'run a stop sign'.

What the mayor is saying, "Look, we later found out this guy has a record, so our pursuit is vindicated". Afraid it don't work that way, Mayor.

Anonymous said...

Sadly the white population in city of Jackson is that of elites at River hills club CCJ and all these kids at Jackson prep and JA St. Andrews… point is they live a different life than the black voters of west and south Jackson. The black population buys into chokwe and talking points he used
I predict that he’s not re-elected and Jackson will have another mayor less radical but incompetent leadership will remain. Only republican Ashby Foote of NE Jackson and stokes and sometimes Aaron banks (when he’s not using that dumb race card) does things effectively

Anonymous said...

@4:14 - Those judges are elected by Hinds County voters. Why don't you contact your legislators about passing laws that impose mandatory sentences for criminal offenses and allow no latitude for said judges' "discretionary" sentences? This requires a legislative fix at the state level.

Anonymous said...

Why does the movie, "Cannonball Run" come to mind !!!

Anonymous said...

I have no idea, 8:45. Ask your therapist. Never heard of it.

Anonymous said...

"They had the make of the car and the tag number."

which does no good if the fleeing suspect is driving a stolen vehicle.

3:30 a.m.: That is not what the mayor said.

Anonymous said...

Here is a little bit of information for all of the people who keep saying just take down the tag number then go to where he stays and arrest him. Two years ago according to an officer in the Jackson police force, during after daylight hours one out of every ten cars seen in Jackson is a stolen car. Do you think going to the home of a person who has their car stolen then used to commit a crime is going to end up with the real criminal going to jail? Even the vehicles belonging to cops and the police department are being stolen. Has everyone forgotten a few days ago a man tried to steal a cop's car with the cop setting behind the wheel?

You can continue aiding and abetting criminals in your city. No one living there gives a damn. Other people do not want to live in a cesspool. If they did they would still be living in Jackson.

Anonymous said...

Once the chase speed got up to 90 miles an hour, the police should have backed off.

Why 90 MPH?

Anonymous said...

Q. Smith on local news station covered this story as if it was all the fault of pearl police. Didn’t mention really the real news of it all the guy was a repeat offender.

Anonymous said...

I have questions for Kingfish and all of my fellow posters.

I believe I read where witneses stated that the Police arrived on the scene of the wreck "about a minute after the wreck happened".

If this is true, then the officer was not in direct persute of the criminal. In fact, the criminal likely could not even see the cop behind him when he ran into the postal worker's vehicle.

Seems to me, he was speeding down a neighborhood street, with no police within a minute of his car, when he ran into the mail truck.

I could see yelling at the cop for not being close enough to the criminal, but I certainly can't see how an officer "A minute behind the criminal" could be charged with the persute of a speeder into a neighborhood. What am I missing?

In reply to 12:03 p.m. I said...

Hang on a minute.
Give me a minute.

Are either a realistic measure of time? Perhaps we'll need C.J. LeMaster to start from the scene of the crash and drive a minute back towards the origin of the chase to find out if the pursuing officer could really figure out which turns to take in pursuit of the fleeing suspect that was "about a minute ahead of him". And the real problem with that.....if speeding you'd wind up further away from the scene of the crash towards the origin of the chase with quite possibly another turn/change of direction.

Should have just called off the chase and let the dumbass criminal get picked up on Chowke's real time crime radar. It do work, don't it?

Your timing to post at 3:30AM might give us a glimpse of your inability to understand the Mayor. He was very clear. The rest of us understood him immediately and went on to bed at a reasonable hour.

Anonymous said...

It's a helluv a note when law enforcement is criticized for doing their job. Most of the ones criticizing are probably the first to crack a donut joke, or mention Barney Fife, when talking about law enforcement. Anyone doing this is a joke and their opinion can't be taken seriously.

The truth of the matter, is the one's responsible are the people that failed to teach, and instill a respect for the law and other people. Because of this lack of respect, this entire episode originated from the actions of one person. That person should be held responsible for all that transpired.

We are living in a lawless time. No retribution for breaking the rules. What I post is on full display every day in America, from the highest positions of power to the lowest. It permeates every institution, political, educational, judicial, and rampant in every area of the private sector. Do you have eyes to see?

What are we teaching our children, our grandchildren, what are we saying with our actions? Without rules, we have no civilized society, is this what we want? Is this the world you want your children and grandchildren to have? We must become a nation of laws, one again.

Off At Midnight. To Bed at Four. said...

@ 1:08 - is it your day to assume why people are up at certain hours? Everybody doesn't work, sleep, eat or play on the same clock or schedule. I agree with the post you find fault with. The mayor can't claim the pursuit was justified by a prior record when nobody had knowledge of that record prior to or during the pursuit. Sounds like YOU might need some sleep.

I'm sure 'the rest of US understood him' as he crawfished and tried to justify the pursuit but fell flat. He will also fall flat at trial, if the judge even allows prior record into the testimony.

Anonymous said...

How about this. If you can't safely evade the police you shouldn't run from them. It's the citizens responsibility not the cops.

Anonymous said...

All you have to do is read the posts from people living, or staying, in Jackson to know why the city has such a high murder rate. The people do not want the law watching very closely. Is it the condition of the city that turns people into criminals or is it people who are criminals are naturally attracted to such a city?

Anonymous said...

3:30, 5:28

You still seem to have not understood the Mayor. He was very clear.

Anonymous said...

8:51 PM, I don't give a rat's ass what the mayor was saying. He is more at fault for the man getting killed than any one. No one, except those who willingly live in Jackson, listens to him anyway. The rest of the world sees him as the fool that he is.

Anonymous said...

11:30 Confused? 8:51 was referring to Pearl's mayor.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required.
