Festival Won't Be Getting Freak On

Freakfest in Madison County is no more after a Chancellor barred the "event" from taking place this weekend.  A flyer promoted "Thee Biggest Pool Party & Adult Show" to take place at 965 Highway 16 W near Canton Sunday at noon.  People were going to par-tay until the Madison County Board of Supervisors and Sheriff found out about the diabolical floor show and decided to put a stop to it all.

The order said Freakfest would have outdoor pole dancing, swimsuit twerk contests, mechnical bull rides, bottle service, and alcohol sales.  There is just one problem.  Before having such an event, one needs a permit and to get a permit, one must apply for a permit.

The property is zoned in agricultural, residential, and commercial portions.   The promoters would have to apply for a conditional use permit to hold such an event.  Unfortunately for Earnest and Earnestine Penquite, they never applied for a permit.

As word got around, Madison County residents began complaining to Sheriff Randy Tucker about the event.  The Madison County Board of Supervisors discussed the event and voted 5-0 to seek the injunction at its June 20 meeting.

Attorney Andy Clark filed a motion for a temporary restraining order without notice and a preliminary injunction on June 23.  Madison County Chancellor Cynthia Brewer issued the TRO on June 24.  No appeal has been filed.

The event's Facebook page is still online and there is no mention of a cancellation.

Relocate to hinds County. The turbidity levels will increase the magnitude of the twerking contest.

This seem like an event that Visit Jackson should invite and assist with taxpayer dollars in bringing it to Jackson. step up Mayor and grab the headlines. Don't worry about not having water -- they ain't gonna need that.

Maybe that pool in Pearl is available

Permits don't mean anything. Just ask the folks around Craig, CO, or the national forest service who are dealing with thousands of people( the Rainbow Family) in their area right now. Destroying hundreds, if not thousands, of acres of national forest land this weekend. No permits there, though one required by law. If enough people show up, LE will mean nothing. It's private property, right?

They’ll have turbids?

Look up the address on the flyer on Google Earth. It's in the middle of nowhere outside city limits on someone's private party. There is a baseball field in their backyard. Doesn't matter what you think of the specific event, are ya'll really ok with .gov telling a private landowner that they cannot invite people to their place?

Damn! Me and the wife and the grandkids had big plans for that.

I like how they spell "the" with and extra "e".

That's classy.

Natchez 1940.

There is a reason they require permits, traffic plans, and security plans.

Pasty white conservative here…. That’s total bullshit they are trying to shut it down. I would have it anyway. Bunch of racist Madison elite. It is was fucking Toby Keith fest they would have no problem.

This event should be ideal for that big old bar on County Line Road that the Kiddee Mayor loves so much.

An earlier post concerning the CBS story interviewing moms had a few people suggest moving out of Jackson and leave the crime ridden city.
This is a perfect example of the people leaving Jackson and the results.

It seems the anti-American communists in Madison county think property owners should have to ask permission to have guests over to celebrate the 4th of July. These socialist commies are woke Rinos who probably have ties to Venezuela and George Soros.

"Feee Drinks will be available until they're Gone!"
Well hell fire! I'm in!

Anonymous said...

After seeing the FB page - Thank God they shut it down. We should all stand up against filth on display. No matter the location. No one needs 'permission' for a gathering and guests on their property. An advertised event for hundreds (thousands?) is NOT 'having guests over to celebrate July 4th'. Pray for our nation. Satan has control.

No, classyyyyy is the note that "1s" will be available. Wonder what the exchange rate was going to be??

9:25 suggests we should all stay in Jackson and suffer the horrors to keep the residents from attending parties in Canton? I don't understand that rationale. And why do you need the suburbs to fix your broken city?

I am all for private land owners rights.

But wouldn't this level of traffic be an issue? 500? 800 cars parked on the road seems like a nightmare. I would guess there are some permits involved for a party that charges entry fees and seems that would make it a bit different than a family reunion in a backyard.
But if no laws are being broken, party on, strippers.

My God in heaven look at the trolls on the flier. Poster pictures for a salad diet.

Bennie and Up front and smiling Truly, even though Lake Penquite is out of the city limits, will override the silly ass Madison County BOD's and Judge Brewers obviously racist TRO.

awww Just move it to Truly's front door and give them all a joint!
He will not mind one bit!

Free beer??? Scrippers??? No cover??? That’s better than Babes, Diamonds, Long Branch, and Lil D’s!!! Just gotta get there a little early for that free beer and make it drizzle! Do something strange for some change. Madison County being a little uppity, but they always been that way.

Kinda makes that Green Lizard and Lost Rabbit parties seem tame, doesn't it?

Let em have it. Call in every DUI squad in the state. Madison County could make a bundle. Not to mention the warrants you could check out.

where do we live? russia? i thought we had freedom to hold events and go to said events.

y’all want communism in the name of “purity”..

Madison county probably prevented several more shootings by barring this event.

Dang! No stripper shows in Canton this weekend. Drug pushers would have had a 4th of July field day

Jesus, Mississippi is even 51st in quality of trolls...

Here's a tip: a successful troll needs to have some element of truth. Strike one: Most of the folks involved in this, from the festers to the Chancellor, couldn't find Venezuela on a map, and without SE hinting, couldn't spell it to look it up. Strike two: While I'm reasonably sure George Soros could spell Mississippi, and that he could find it on a map, he wouldn't bother. Put another way, the former are stupid, not demented, and the latter is demented, not stupid.

Content aside, if they can't even apply for the appropriate permit, how can they reasonably be expected to provide the appropriate security for such an event?

And what about insurance? I assume this is a for-profit business endeavor.

Don't bogart that joint, my friend said...

I should think that per the flier, having "Hookahs Available" would have been a real problem with the CDC in this day and age of Covid. Could have turned out to be a "mass spreader" event......of lewd behavior promoting general thuggery.

But then again, I'm sure back in the 50's, somewhere in Madison County, Elvis was known to shake a leg.

turbidity in the comments due to people who are either trolls or stupid or both said...

Libertarian trolls in the comments appear to advocate for alcohol sales without any permitting thus having the practical effet of neutering all bootlegging and alcohol sales enforcement.

Large 4 Wheeler ATV Ride Area! (ACRES)

Bottle service hookahs...What could go wrong with all the 4 wheelers trickin and stuntin like fools?

Why would they shut this event down? It's got a snappy name but it just sounds like a fun party. I am 40 years old, when I was younger we had all kinds of parties with names like "pasture crash", that were no better than this. Hell for a while rock 93.9 even hosted a morning party at headliners named "kegs and eggs". Not one soul gave a damn. Leave these folks alone and let them party as they want to!

Anonymous said...

I wonder where Big Hat Gibson is on this proposed party. They did mention mechanical bull riding and I thought Andy was in charge of Bull stuff. Maybe he can flood the coliseum and invite them to his place. Wonder where he has been this week since he’s not in the news?

Anonymous said...

Same thick booty style "adult dancers" free to see in Walmart every day.

Anonymous said...

So do fraternities get permits for all their parties these days also? This sounds pretty tame compared to the stuff that goes down in the college towns.

Anonymous said...

If the wind was blowing in the right direction, there's no doubt the folks in Yazoo would have caught a whiff of that stench.

Anonymous said...

They should move it to Kenny Wayne Jones Pcounty, I mean Hinds County. They want have a problem.

Anonymous said...

Dang, just bought some new Tommy Bahama summer wear for this event. Babysitter in place and the wife has her famous mac and cheese covered dish. Guess we will be watching The Crown now.

The FB page postes friday evening at 9pm it's a go.
This should be interesting.
Tucker takes on the hookahs

Is/was this actually a real event or was it some Onionesque nonsense to stir up certain white folks? Has anyone tried to buy tickets, order up a VIP table and bottle service, or verified in any way any of this? If this is a stunt, credit where it is well-deserved.

Anonymous said...

Google Earth shows a half-dozen houses within a couple hundred yards of the location. I'd bet the homeowners won't be attending.

If the event doesn't happen because of the TRO or because of weather, will those who paid for tickets get a refund? It'll be interesting to find out.

I feel pretty safe saying that lives will be saved if the event is canceled.

Anonymous said...

I smell trouble.

An the Eventbrite ticket sales page it says tickets are $15-$500 and the refund policy is "No Refunds".

Shake That Boo-Tay Miley said...

This was a bold move on the part of Andy Clark, Esquire, seein' as how he's lifelong friends with break-dancer Mike Espy and has teamed up with the Blackmons on more than one occasion.

It was not up to the Penquites to apply for a permit. That was the responsibility of the person(s) sponsoring and leasing the event venue.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
